This study aims to analyze the causes of the disabled people's fear of crimes and to provide the implication to relevant policies. For this, we scrutinize how the disabled perceive the fear toward felonies and the police action. Further, we empirically tested how police action and their recognition toward it affects the fear toward crimes, on the basis of collective efficacy and victimization which is believed to have effects on people's fear of crimes. As the physically disabled are incompetent to respond to the questions, we survey 122 person with physical disability for 25 branches of Seoul Association of Person Physically Disabled. Our regression results show negative correlations between collective efficacy and fear of crimes, which is in accord with preceding researches of the non-handicapped. While indirect victimization shows positive correlations with their fear toward crime, it is ot statistically significant in conventional confidence level. Contrarily, direct victimization shows positive correlation with it, and the coefficient is different from zero in conventional level. As it is proven from preceding studies, confidence in police action and their perception toward it has negative correlations with their fear of crimes.

The fear of crime, discussed in the early 1960s in the United States, is a psychological response, such as anxiety or concern about crime, the potential victim of a crime. These anxiety factors lead to the burden of the individual in securing the psychological stability and indirect costs of the crime against the society. Fear of crime is not a good thing, and it is a part that needs to be adjusted so that it cannot be exaggerated and distorted by the policy together with the crime coping and resolution. This is because fear of crime has as much harm as damage caused by criminal act. Eric Pawson has argued that the popular impression of violent crime is not formed because of media reports, but by official statistics. Therefore, the police should watch and analyze news related to fear of crime to reduce the social cost of fear of crime and prepare a preemptive response policy before the people have 'fear of crime'. In this paper, we propose a deep - based news classification system that helps police cope with crimes related to crimes reported in the media efficiently and quickly and precisely. The goal is to establish a system that can quickly identify changes in security issues that are rapidly increasing by categorizing news related to crime among news articles. To construct the system, crime data was learned so that news could be classified according to the type of crime. Deep learning was applied by using Google tensor flow. In the future, it is necessary to continue research on the importance of keyword according to early detection of issues that are rapidly increasing by crime type and the power of the press, and it is also necessary to constantly supplement crime related corpus.
Crimes occurring in residential areas make an atmosphere of anxiety and are spread throughout the whole society as well as the residential areas, regardless of the number of crimes and how serious they are. Thus, due to their huge negative impact on the whole society, it is crucial to relieve anxiety of residents from the crimes occurring in the residential areas, which plays an important role in determining the quality of a residential environment. Before conducting the research, 18 apartment complexes in Daejeon constructed since 2006 were chosen to apply six principles of CPTED. The main purpose of the research is to observe main spaces in residential areas and analyze crime prevention environment in order to find out safe spatial composition. The data of the research demonstrate the main spaces and their composition. Henceforth, it is necessary to establish accurate data and a new evaluation method in order to obtain objective statistics and data. Furthermore, a study on development of safety and amenity of residential areas should be continued.
Due to the rapid developments of South Korea, local communities have faced various social pathologies which generated more violent crimes and criminalized younger students. Several horrendous violences, such as a Kangneung Girl assassination assault case in July 2017 and a Busan Girls assault case in September 2017, happened only between young students. This ignited a public uproar and people were more interested in related national policies and voiced for stronger penalties in ways that punish student offenders and abolish the juvenile law. In this respect, various effective policies are needed to prevent the school violence and to eliminate the students' fear of crime. These are expected to create an environment where students could enthusiastically study in a safe environment. Focusing on elementary school students, this study seeks to empirically analyse the effects of their perception of local crime control governance on their fear of crime and, subsequently, to suggest policy implications which could prevent future school violence and juvenile crimes and reduce the students' fear of crime. The results of this study are as follows: First, the analysis of the general fear of local crime control governance and the fear of crime showed that elementary school students' trust in police officers had a significant effect on the general fear. Second, the analysis of the local fear of crime control governance and the fear of crime highlighted that their trust in the police, social ties, intimacy between the police and residents had a significant effect on the specific fear. Therefore, this study is applicable in reality in that it can contribute to the prevention of school violence and reduction of fear of crime by constructing local crime control governance.

The analysis results, Chaotic environment has significant impacted direct and indirect experience of violence. And chaotic environment has significant impacted fear of crime. Comparison result, The indirect force experience the greatest affected fear of crime. Arranged in order of importance result, disorder, direct of violence experience influence on fear of crime. The study demonstrated that when the physical environment is the fear of crime reduction.
The fear of civilians has recently increased due to sexual crimes. Unlike other crimes, sexual crimes mostly go unreported and are more likely to be repeated. The rape cases, which constitute the highest percentage of sexual crimes, represent that 62% of the sex offenders were ex-convicts in 2009. Therefore this study examined activities to prevent sexual crimes implemented by Ministry of Justice and Ministry of Gender Equality & Family, Police's criminal management as well as 1:1 management of ex-convicts, and sexual offender management of foreign nations as the measure for sexual crimes, which cause social problems. From these, we suggested legal, institutional and practical problems, as well as solutions such as manual production, revision of related laws and special police education.
This paper discusses how the strategies for crime prevention are interrelated to sustainable urban development. The sustainable urban development for healthy and safe cities implies regulations or legal, lawful control to reduce fear of crime and prevent substantial threats to health and safety of individual persons as well as of the community. City planners attempt to apply to the strategies for crime prevention their perception of what the sustainable urban development should be with respect to urban environment. Many planners have studied on the possibility of reduction in fear of crime and actual crimes through environmental improvement. The results of their preliminary studies provide specific suggestions to reduce crimes and fear of crime by application of CPTED. This study proposes alternatives in policy necessary for CPTED, which is one of the strategies for crime prevention, to take its place as a useful strategy for making the urban societies safe and sustainable.

Crimes must be reduced not only because of the financial, physical, and emotional damages they bring to the victims but also because crimes increase social costs by elevating distrust in society and instilling fear. With the increasing number of crimes in Korea, finding other factors that affect the occurrence of crimes is needed beyond the current viewpoint for crime analysis. Social support factors can be candidates for studies on the social support effect on crime occurrence in their initial stage. In this study, we identified the effect of social support factors on crime occurrence or deterrence, none of which has been considered important until now, given the emergence of spatial econometrics. The resulting Moran's I values revealed the existence of a spatial autocorrelation in all three crimes: heinous crimes, theft, and violence. As shown in the analysis using spatial econometrics and ordinary least squares, social support from families is significant in reducing all crimes especially violence. Social support from the local government is significant in preventing only theft. The spatial econometrics model is only valid in heinous crimes. These different effects of social support factors and spatial factors on crime occurrences are caused by the different characteristics of crimes. Hence, policymakers should consider the social support effect when they establish policies related to social housing or welfare.

This study aims to test the relationship between the change in population size and population composition and crime changes. The analytical model includes variables representing changes in population size and population composition, three dependent variables for crime changes, and three control variables. Changes in popuvpdllation size and population composition are measured by indicators such as population size, gender, age groups, and immigrants and foreign workers, and crime changes by felonious, burglary, and violent crime volumes. The sample includes 154 cities and counties in South Korea, and the sample period is from 2010 to 2017. As a result of the analysis, I examine that the decrease in the number of young and men are likely to lead to a decline in felonious and violent crimes, but a high rate of the elderly and the increasing racial heterogeneity are likely to accelerate the fear and worries about crimes.
