Purpose: The purposes of this study were to investigate eating behavior of university students through social commerce and to analyze factors affecting university students' attitude regarding social commerce. Methods: Questionnaires were distributed to 445 university students in Changwon, Korea from March 28 to April 28, 2013. A total of 339 questionnaires were used for the final analysis, which excluded improperly-completed questionnaires. Results: The major factor considered for eating behavior through social commerce was price (37.2%). Purchasing experiences of foodservice products according to types of foodservice were 64.9% for coffee shop, 59.3% for fast food restaurant, 53.4% for family restaurant, 46.0% for specialty restaurant, 35.7% for pizza restaurant, 35.4% for buffet, and 31.9% for bakery. Factors affecting satisfaction with social commerce for purchasing foodservice products were 'service quality of foodservice company', 'communication of social commerce', and 'discount rate of social commerce'. Factors affecting repurchasing intention of foodservice products through social commerce were 'service quality of foodservice company', 'site design of social commerce', and 'discount rate of social commerce'. Conclusion: In order to increase satisfaction with social commerce, 'service quality of foodservice company', 'communication of social commerce', and 'discount rate of social commerce' should be increased. And, to increase repurchasing intention of social commerce, 'service quality of foodservice company', 'site design of social commerce', and 'discount rate of social commerce' should be increased. In addition, two factors 'service quality of foodservice' and 'discount rate of social commerce' were found to have an effect on satisfaction and repurchasing intention of social commerce. For development of social commerce and foodservice industry, cooperative relationship between social commerce and foodservice industry is needed, and a reasonable price strategy should be established. The university students considered price as a major factor of eating behaviors and did not consider menu and taste as a major factor. From a longer perspective, such an eating behavior would have an effect on university students' dietary life and it would cause nutrition and health problems for university students. Thus, it implied that further studies from the perspectives of nutrition and health regarding eating behavior through social commerce service should be conducted.

But the average practice score of 'food habits' was greater($3.58{\pm}1.06$) than 'purchasing food materials ($3.19{\pm}1.19$)' and 'eating out($2.54{\pm}1.05$)'. Among 5 types of 'food habits', the type of 'cut down on eating fast food' had the greatest score of importances ($4.31{\pm}0.97$) but the difference between importance and practice was greatest(0.94). Also 'consume home-made food rather than processed or ready to food' showed great scores in importance ($4.28{\pm}0.87$) and practice($3.87{\pm}1.04$). 'Consume fruits and vegetables rather than meats' and 'avoid heavy use of oils' had the importance score of $4.04{\sim}4.19$. But the practice score of 'avoid heavy use of oils' was the lowest($3.39{\pm}0.97$). Among four types of purchasing of food materials, 'purchase domestic agricultural food' was greatest($4.37{\pm}0.78$) and 'don't purchase genetically modified food' 'purchase organic food' and 'purchase whole grain products' were also great ($3.92{\sim}3.99$). But the practice score of 'purchase organic/low chemical foods($2.77{\pm}0.98$)' and 'don't purchase genetically modified food($2.99{\pm}1.41$)' were lowest. 'Go to well being restaurant' in three types of 'eating out' showed greatest in importance($3.35{\pm}0.96$) but the practice score($2.47{\pm}0.10$) was lower than the importance score. Also 'choose menu with comparing calories' had the lower score in practice($2.45{\pm}1.06$) rather than importance score($3.22{\pm}1.03$). In regarding to 'food habits', the importance score were significantly affected by type of food expense (p<0.05) and health status (p<0.05). The importance score of 'purchase food materials' were significantly affected by the type of food expense (p<0.001), type of residence(p<0.05), and self assessment of weight(p<0.05). Monthly income, especially more 400 million won, was the commonly significant effector in practice score of 'purchase food materials' and 'eating out'.
This study investigates the effect of consumer involvement in the relationship between customer satisfaction and loyalty (which is measured as consumers' repurchase and WOM intentions). Previous research has presented inconsistent implications on the role of consumer involvement in the relationship. Some researchers have presented the empirical results showing that consumer involvement moderates the relationship, whereas others have done the empirical results implying that the consumer involvement does not moderates. In sum, the previous empirical studies have provided the inconsistent empirical results that consumer involvement may be a moderator or a non-moderator in the relationship between customer satisfaction and loyalty. Thus, we start this research with two research questions: "Does consumer involvement has a moderation effect on the relationship between-customer satisfaction and loyalty across various service industries?" and "Can the moderation effect of consumer involvement be detected differently depending on the statistical methods used to probe the moderation effect?" A questionnaire survey was conducted in the context of four service categories: eight service firms for fast food, four firms for family restaurant, four firms for movie theater and four firms for Bakery. Hierarchical regression analyses (moderated regression analyses) and chi-square difference tests were used to identify the role of consumer involvement in the relationship between customer satisfaction and loyalty. The empirical results show that there does not exist the difference in the moderation effects of consumer involvement identified by the two statistical methods (i.e., hierarchical regression analyses vs. chi-square difference tests), however, that there exists the difference in the identified moderation effects of consumer across service categories. In the final section, we summarize the implications and re-interpret the empirical results provided in the previous studies.
The purpose of this study is to investigate the effects of customers' perception of corporate associations on trust, loyalty, revisit intention, and switching intention in the foodservice company and verify if there are significant moderating effects between family restaurants and fast-food restaurants. A total of 552 restaurant patrons in Korea participated in the survey. The results showed that corporate ability association and corporate social responsibility association among corporate associations had a significant effect on customers' trust, which had a positive significant influence on loyalty. Moreover, customers' loyalty had a significant effect on customers' revisit and switching intention. In addition, the moderating effects of company types are observed in the relationships among customers' perception of corporate associations and trust. Limitations of the study and future research directions are also discussed.
A significant gap can exist between what customers expect in foodservice and what service providers deliver to customers. Reducing the gap and enhancing service quality plays a key role in increasing customer satisfaction and repurchase intentions. The purpose of this study was to investigate the personal and operational characteristics that affect the customer perceptions of service quality, to analyze the overall satisfaction and repurchase intention of customers, and to study the service quality gap between customer and foodservice provides. 427 customers and 278 foodservice providers in 82 fast food and family restaurants were surveyed. T-test, ANOVA, Correlation Analysis, and Multiple Regression were used for statistical analysis, The results of this study were as follows: 1) Among the personal characteristics of customers, sex affected the preception of 'General Management' and 'Reputation', and the expense per person showed a correlation with service quality. 2) Among the operational characteristics, the type of restaurant, months since opening, and the number of seats had a significant impact on service quality, while the seat turnover rate showed a negative correlation with service quality. 3) Among the human resource characteristics, the proportion of part-time employees had a negative correlation with service quality, and in general, the training program for full-time employees led to a higher degree of customer perception of service quality. 4) Six dimensions of service quality accounted for 38.39% of customer satisfaction in Multiple Regression. 5) The overall satisfaction of customers willing to repurchase was significantly higher than that of the non-repurchase customers. 6) The operational characteristics explained over 35% for the service quality gap among the customers and the service providers in Multiple Regression.

The purpose of this study is to suggest management strategies for both upscale hotel buffet restaurants and independent buffet restaurants by conducting an IPA(Important-Performance/satisfaction Analysis) on the selection attributes for buffet type restaurants. Additionally, the effects of the selection attributes' satisfaction on the "intention to recommend" was tested. Surveys were conducted from April 15th through May 4th, 2016 by using both SNS and off-line surveys of consumers with buffet restaurants dining experiences within the previous year, of which a total number of 160 questionnaires were used for the statistical analysis. The result showed a few different selection attributes in each quadrant; additionally, food quality and menu had positive effects on the "intention to recommend" for hotel buffet restaurants, while food quality was the only selection attribute with positive effects for independent buffet restaurants.
