This study examined images typical to this city and explored ways to develop cultural products using these images. Researchers reviewed literature about fashion cultural products and related previous research, and then conducted a closed-ended survey to analyze universal fashion preferences. For the examination material, such a way was used as information data base and network review inside and outside the country, dissertation screen, and published media including separate volumes. The following are considering points in the developing process. First, the study identified design, color, price, practicality and quality as factors that should be taken into consideration when using the image of Gangneung. In particular, it determined that the image needs to reflect a modern sensibility while maximizing its representation of local culture. Second, Gangneung's symbolic image should incorporate the sea, Gyeongpo, and coffee. In other words, the sea, Gyeongpo, and coffee should receive top symbolic priority. Third, from a development perspective, the most appropriate items for displaying the image include t-shirts, keychains, umbrellas, or other accessories, since these items are easily available in terms of price. In sum, this study highlighted the necessity of reconsidering Gangneung's currents ymbolic image, suggesting that a new image should be developed. Developing a typical fashion cultural product image will enrich Gangneung's cultural industry and the distribution of newly designed products will improve the localeconomy.

This study investigated the differences in the effects of the perception of the internet fashion shopping mall characteristics on satisfaction and loyalty of internet fashion shopping mall between Korean and American college students. Questionnaires were administered to 251 Korean and 221 American college students. The results were as follows. First, service and product diversity had significant effects on satisfaction of internet fashion shopping mall in both group, while convenience had a significant impact on satisfaction of internet fashion shopping mall in American group. Second, service, product diversity, and promotion had significant influences on repurchase intention of internet fashion shopping mall in Korean consumer group, while service and reliability, product diversity, and convenience had significant effects on repurchase intention of internet fashion shopping mall in American consumer group. Third, service had a significant effect on recommendation intention in Korean group, while service and reliability and product diversity had significant influences on recommendation intention in American group.

Fashion luxury products, which used to mean high-quality, handcrafted not-so-trendy items, are nowadays regarded as expensive fashion merchandise produced under the name of imported well-known brands. People cunsuming fashion luxury products distinguish themselves from other people according to the luxury fashion brands they are using, and as a result, advertisements of fashion luxury products are taken as a kind of international language. The purpose of this study is to point out the socio-cultural meanings of consuming fashion luxury products, by analyzing images shown in advertisements of fashion luxury products focusing on women's images. To do so, this study is based on general theoretical background on fashion, consumer culture advertising and analysis advertisements of fashion luxury products shown in fashion magazines in recent three years. The result of this study is as follows; The images of the advertisements of fashion luxury products could be categorized as (1) elegance, (2) kitsch and (3) fetish. Elegance is a taste of high society, aesthetically chic and feminine. Fashion luxury products, which are merchandise of extravagance, dignity, refinement, feminity and harmony, exhibit high-quality grace through their advertisements. Kitsch represents the vulgar and popular images of trivial commodities of industrial society. In the advertisement of fashion luxury product, it is shown as inappropriateness, excessiveness, stereotyped pleasantness, exaggeration an playful satisfaction. Finally, fetish images represent erotic or perverted sexuality, based on psychoanalytic fetishism which objects are regarded s substitute of sexual orgasm. The advertisements of fashion luxury product are characterized as (1) popularization of luxury, (2) objectification of sex and body, and (3) re-aestetification of anti-aesthetics. The asvertisements of fashion luxury products are actually targeted to the middle class with successful career women's images. They objectify female bodies through fetishistic images. Also, the deviant subcultural style, represented a new kind of cultural capital, is now reproduced as a new commodity aesthetics.
An empirical study was conducted on fashion cultural products with Korean image, targeting Korean and American consumers. Its purpose was to identify Korean and English consumers' attitude and purchase intention and to compare difference of its influence factor toward fashion cultural products of which design sources were derived from the Korean culture. The quantitative research using on-line questionnaires was targeted at American and Korean consumers. A total of 400 responses were used in the analysis. Results of data analyses using SPSS 13.0, are as following. First, for American consumers, uniqueness-seeking had a positive effect on attitude toward of cultural product with Korean image, followed by service of salespersons, change-seeking, and appearance of salespersons. For Korean consumers, easy accessibility was significantly related to attitude. Second, for American consumers, uniqueness-seeking and appearance of salespersons had a significant influence on the purchase intention of the cultural product with Korean image. For Korean consumers, no attributes were related to purchase intention. This research about fashion cultural products that will compete in the global market presents exploratory information targeting domestic and foreign consumers and will contribute to the strategic aspect of newly growing high-added-value industries.
This work developed the basic motive design utilizing the physical beauty of the traditional ornaments used uniquely by Korean females and suggested some textile designs and fashion cultural product designs. As a research method, computer design programs Adobe Illustrator CS3 and Adobe Photoshop CS3 were used as well as literature examination. The motive was mainly based on the dwiggoji and ddeoljam, which are female ornaments. The formative shape in woman ornaments was classified into four kinds: plant, animal, geometry, and hybrid. The hybrid type was divided further into such combinations as plant, animal, and geometry, which came up with 8 fundamental motives for design development in total. With regard to the basic motive design, the coordinated concept was adopted with a combination of traditional taste and contemporary taste in harmony for the expression of delicate image on the condition that the basic format in female ornament is maintained. Textile design was processed with symmetry, rotation, repeat, and overlap as fundamental motive. As to the design for fashion cultural products, design mapping was proposed for neckties, handbags, clutches, shirts, and one-pieces. Utility and beauty in the traditional ornaments unique to Korean women could be recognized once again through this work. This work also assured the possibility for the endless improvement as a design development motive with originality.
As a plan for establishing Korea's cultural identity and its competitive edge in the world market and for enhancing Korea's cultural status, creative and unique high value-added cultural products need to be developed utilizing our inherent cultural assets. Accordingly, this study focused on the development of the design of fashion cultural products that utilize the convergence of Hangeul our peculiar font style and Korea's cultural heritage, which is registered as part of UNESCO's World Heritage. A design method was devised that converges archetypal images of cultural property with the unique Hangeul font in a way that targets Korea's symbolic architectures. The symbolic architecture includes Korea's world-heritage pagoda architecture, such as Seokgatap pagoda and Dabotap pagoda at Bulguksa temple. It also included the architecture of royal palace, such as Injeongjeon hall at Changdeokgung palace. Finally, it also included the architecture of the fortress wall, such as Paldalmun gate in Hwaseong fortress. Thus, by developing cultural assets made from a convergence between architecture and the Hangeul font as a consumer-product image that has universality, the possibility of cultural products was pursued by applying color planning after an analysis that involved extracting the compositional colors of the flags of the world. This research and approach will lead to opportunities for further progress for Korea's cultural products in the global market as a results of additional recognition for their value, excellence, and universal appeal.
The MICE industry is a new industry that combines corporate meetings, intensive tours, conventions and exhibitions. The convention (the international conference itself) is a conception born from the interpretation of multiple industries such as conferences, incentive tourism, exhibitions and fairs. It is therefore necessary to develop products that can contribute to the revitalization of the MICE industry. We will participate in globalization era trends by developing original design with unique color sense as well as traditional beauty and elegance that can represent the Korean Wave in order to develop high value-added fashion cultural products. We examine the formative characteristics of Chogakbo and apply them to the harmony of geometrical characteristics and colors. The morphological characteristics and sewing method of the Korean traditional 'fo' were also used for shirt designs. It is a fashion cultural product that applies to the Korean Cheokagbo design as well as maintains a basic aloha shirt design that can be worn by everyone (regardless of gender and age) to make it globally acceptable. We used a simple and interesting geometric configuration of the surface represented by the surface composition of the patchwork as well as proposed a design costume by 3D clothing simulation work. The research results can be used as basic data for the domestic fashion market and cultural goods market.

This study develops Korean Style Loungewear as a cultural fashion product. Through the use of surveys, Korean sentiments about Korean traditional clothing and Korean style fashion have been examined. The survey was conducted for 5,000 people in Korea; 3,500 responses of meaningful data were statistically analyzed. The data was processed by a SAS system; frequency and percentage were performed. It was found that Korean people have a high preference for Korean traditional clothing; however, they are not satisfied with its comfort, maintenance, or price. They answered that they would wear Korean style fashion if the design, comfort, and price were improved. They responded positively on the development of Korean Style Loungewear and its effectiveness as a cultural product. Based on the survey and basic geometric structures of Korean traditional costumes, silhouette designs of Loungewear have been developed. The designs are divided into one-piece styles and two-piece styles. The characteristic design details are git (Korean neckline) and goreum (Korean tie ribbon). The results have been shown on the "Han Style Fashion Show" by Jeonju City and exhibited in the "Seoul Living Design Fair" and the "International Art & Craft Trend Fair" in COEX, Seoul.

A bag is a daily article carried in one's hand or on one's shoulder for things as well as a fashion item. The functions of a bag were derived to include portability, decorativeness, brand identity, message communicability and cultural identity. Souvenir bags sold at a gallery or a museum are goods to maximize the cultural identity of a bag based on national emblems, exhibitions and characters as design motifs. Based on the typological analysis of souvenir bags showing cultural identity, this study developed a design with a motif of Hanbok from Korean traditional cultural content to develop a tote bag design that reveals Korean cultural identity. Under a traditional Hanbok motif colors, sizes and patterns were reinterpreted in a modern perspective. For such a research purpose, 8 kinds of tote bags were developed. A tote bag design that reflects Korean cultural identity will contribute to raising the potential to develop cultural goods that are modern, popular and differentiated in the global market.

The purpose of this study was to investigate the adolescents' images and preference on cultural products based on Baekje traditional culture focused on adolescents. The subjects were 421 adolescents in Daejeon and Chungnam province. The measuring instruments was stimuli of cultural products and a questionnaire with semantic differential scales of image of cultural products, preference, product evaluation criteria, and subjects' demographics characteristics. The data were analyzed by Cronbach's ${\alpha}$, factor analysis, t-test, ANOVA, Duncan's multiple range test, and regression analysis using SPSS program. The results were as follows. First, 3 factors(attractiveness, interest, gentleness) were emerged on images of cultural products based on Baekje tradition culture, however, the current products could not convey affectively the attractive and gentle image of baekje traditional culture. Second, the preference of the Baekje cultural products was evaluated low, and especially design and price was rated low in the evaluation criteria. Third, preference was related with the 3 image factors, and attractiveness factor was showed highly positive effects on preference of cultural products. The implication of this study was to provide the useful cultural product development plan for adolescents, and the research results suggested that modern and individual design, unique traditional pattern, resonable price, and practicality have to be considered to develop successful cultural products for adolescents.
