  • As the use of 3DCAD data became widespread in designing products in manufacturing, attempts have been made to shorten lead time and reduce cost of production preparation utilizing 3DCAD data for launching assembly lines. In order to create assembly plans not only efficient but easy for operators to operate ('easy-to-operate'), this study presents approaches, methods, and systems for creating 3DCGAs (3 Dimensional Computer Graphic Animations) which automatically utilize a prototype-free production preparation methodology. Characteristics of this study include that it proposes the methodology for creating assembly operation 3DCGAs automatically, for all the possible assembly operations corresponding each of the possible assembly sequences first. Using the created 3DCGAs, the study next considers assembly methods by evaluating how easy or 'operator friendly' they are in implementing, and devises tools or jigs to be used, and plans efficient assembly line organization. The concept of the methodology was formed by focusing on the value-adding assembly steps at which parts turn into products directly. The study also validates the effectiveness of the presented methodology by employing the methods used in actual production preparation process in businesses, and proves that an efficient assembly line can be organized in a shorter period of time utilizing the developed system and by preparing easy-to-operate and efficient plans in 3DCGAs at the design stage.

  • As higher on the industrialization of chemical factories in Korea, it shows a tendency that safety accident happens more times and is bigger on its size. For preventing from and decreasing such accident, PSM(Process Safety Management) system has used in chemical factories. Though it is recognized that PSM is sutable and effective for only a intensive system technically, it could be difficult to apply to all of factories, actually. This study was proceeded for investigating the effect and problems on the application and performanance of PSM into the threshold quantity site and suggesting how fur improvement. The results are as followed; PSM system was not used effectively in the threshold quantity site of medium and small-sized enterprises because of the shortage of experts and the decrease of interest as a deregulation. As the effective performanace of PSM for preventing from industrial accident in threshold quantity site and for sattling as self-system easily, it was concluded to get an active support from the concerned government. First of all, new progrems to improve PSM should be developed continually and the progrems should be educated extensively.

  • Hotel Information Systems(HIS) has been used widely nowadays. Also, there is a requirement to connect Customer Relation Management(CRM) with the HIS. However, Hotel managers simply regard CRM as a part of HIS but, CRM is a crucial information system like MRP in factory. Therefore, It is important to set up a long term strategy for CRM in Hotel business. This study tested five hypotheses how requirement of CRM changes along increasing usage level of HIS in Hotels. Statistical test and structured test by AMOS were used to verify the five hypotheses so that I could extract HIS' characteristics. This study's results can be referred when Hotel managers make a decision how and when for CRM.

  • Today, the world has reached 'Industry 4.0'. Industry 4.0 has high uncertainty in various aspects because it is based on building a smart chain where the various elements that make up the industry can communicate with each other. Based on the above facts, based on the researches of the previous researchers, we have searched for the countermeasures of small and medium sized manufacturing companies in Korea in order to minimize the negative aspects of establishing the basic concepts and functioning of Industry 4.0. As a result, efforts to accurately identify and address the uncertainties of Industry 4.0 in a variety of ways will help to drive business growth and economic growth in the country through smart factories, which are at the heart of Industry 4.0.

  • Recently, the magnitude and frequency of the natural disaster have been increased, the damage has become severer. The importance of disaster response system to relieve the damage has arised continuously. This study has tried to develop the algorithm to solve the facility location and size problem in emergency logistics. A facility in the emergency logistics has various roles in victim care, casualty treatment, relief resource management and relief vehicle assistance. Moreover, the location of facility in emergency logistics has to consider the safety and reliability. To gather these information, information management system with IoT sensors are suggested. The location problem in this study also covers various features to response various demands in disaster. To solve this problem, this study suggested MIP based algorithm. Scenario based simulation experiments are conducted to verify the performance suggested algorithm.

  • Purpose: The concept of quality is changing in the quality 4.0 era with the fourth industrial revolution in the world. This research aims to understand the characteristics of well-adapted companies against the quality 4.0 era and to improve the quality of clothing companies. Methods: We analyzed companies that responded well to the quality 4.0 era, especially Kutesmart using Quality 4.0 Matrix. We focused on the service process of Kutesmart and we suggested modified service process to improve quality. We also interviewed an expert to verify this process is valid. Results: We found that two types are classified of well-adapted companies against the quality 4.0 era. Especially, Kutesmart has built a smart factory and introduced new technologies like 3D scanner and big data analysis. However, Kutesmart has a weakness in post-purchase process like other clothing companies. Kutesmart could solve this problem with modular production method for damaged part of customer. Conclusion: This research can be used for better understanding of the characteristics of well-adapted companies against the quality 4.0 era and service process of Kutesmart that is custom clothing company for providing information for benchmarking in this industry. This study suggests that further empirical researches on the costs and the efficiencies of applying the new technologies are necessary.

  • In industrial fields like big factories, efficient management of resources is critical in terms of time and expense. So, inefficient management of resources leads to additional costs. Nevertheless, in many cases, there is no proper system to manage resources. This study proposes a system to manage and track large-scale resources efficiently. We attached Bluetooth 5.0-based beacons to our target resources to track them in real time, and by saving their transportation data we can understand flows of resources. Also, we applied a diagonal survey method to estimate the location of beacons so we are able to build an efficient and accurate system. As a result, We achieve 47% more accurate results than traditional trilateration method.

  • Internet of Things technology is rapidly developing due to the recent development of information and communication technology. IoT technology utilizes various sensors to generate unique data from each sensor, enabling diagnosis of system status. However, the equipment management system currently in effect is a post-preservation concept in which administrators must deal with the problem after the problem occurs, which could mean system reliability and availability problems due to system errors, and could result in economic losses due to negative productivity disruptions. Therefore, this study confirmed that edge controller control decision algorithms for more efficient operation of rectifiers in the factory by applying intelligent IoT (AIoT) technology and domain knowledge-based modeling for each sensor data collected based on this, outputting appropriate status messages for each scenario.

  • In this research, a method for minimizing the replacement time of AMR (Autonomous Mobile Robot), which is used in various industrial groups such as logistics and manufacturing, was studied in the event of a LiDAR failure. In this regard, a general LiDAR exchange process was defined and a new exchange process based on the newly designed jig, which is mounted on the AMR, for the quick change of LiDAR was proposed. The experiment is conducted using commercialized AMR which was developed for application in the factory of an automobile manufacturing company. It was confirmed that LiDAR can be replaced and aligned within 24 minutes when the new exchange process is employed, which is about 76% or more shorter than the general LiDAR exchange process. As a result, we can minimize AMR downtime and overall process delays by applying the proposed process.

  • The packaging plastic manufacturing(blown film) industry has long developed in China, but most of them are small/medium-sized enterprises, and it is very rare to have appropriate operation plans suitable for their own business. The packaging plastic manufacturing industry(blown film) follows a typical Make-To-Order method, and the sequence of processing orders is very important. Waste of materials incurred by frequent conversions of production cannot be avoided, and generally, related costs incurred during conversion production are also different. Therefore, this study developed a job sequence determination model for improving operating profits using @RISK simulation software, compared and analyzed 3 actionable clustering treatment methods proposed by technical managers and field experts under the actual situation of the factory.
