  • This paper presents new heuristic search algorithms for searching rectilinear r(L1), link metric, and combined shortest paths in the presence of orthogonal obstacles. The GMD(GuidedMinimum Detour) algorithm combines the best features of maze-running algorithms and line-search algorithms. The SGMD(Line-by-Line GuidedMinimum Detour)algorithm is a modiffication of the GMD algorithm that improves efficiency using line-by-line extensions. Our GMD and LGMD algorithms always find a rectilinear shortest path using the guided A search method without constructing a connection graph that contains a shortest path. The GMD and the LGMD algorithms can be implemented in O(m+eloge+NlogN) and O(eloge+NlogN) time, respectively, and O(e+N) space, where m is the total number of searched nodes, is the number of boundary sides of obstacles, and N is the total number of searched line segment. Based on the LGMD algorithm, we consider not only the problems of finding a link metric shortest path in terms of the number of bends, but also the combined L1 metric and Link Metric shortest path in terms of the length and the number of bands.

  • KOMPSAT-3A images have been used in various kinds of applications, since its launch in 2015. However, there were limits to scientific analysis and application extensions of these data, such as vegetation index estimation, because no tool was developed to obtain the surface reflectance required for analysis of the actual land environment. The surface reflectance is a product of performing an absolute atmospheric correction or calibration. The objective of this study is to quantitatively verify the accuracy of top-of-atmosphere reflectance and surface reflectance of KOMPSAT-3A images produced from the OTB open-source extension program, performing the cross-validation with those provided by a site measurement data of RadCalNet, an international Calibration/Validation (Cal/Val) portal. Besides, surface reflectance was obtained from Landsat-8 OLI images in the same site and applied together to the cross-validation process. According to the experiment, it is proven that the top-of-atmosphere reflectance of KOMPSAT-3A images differs by up to ± 0.02 in the range of 0.00 to 1.00 compared to the mean value of the RadCalNet data corresponding to the same spectral band. Surface reflectance in KOMPSAT-3A images also showed a high degree of consistency with RadCalNet data representing the difference of 0.02 to 0.04. These results are expected to be applicable to generate the value-added products of KOMPSAT-3A images as analysisready data (ARD). The tools applied in thisstudy and the research scheme can be extended as the new implementation of each sensor model to new types of multispectral images of compact advanced satellites (CAS) for land, agriculture, and forestry and the verification method, respectively.

  • The purpose of this thesis is that the students understand the sentence stated math problems closely related to the real life and adapted the right solving strategies try to find the solution to a problem. The following research problem were proposed. 1. How repeated thinking lessons develop the understanding of problems and influence the usage of correct problem solving strategies and extensions of problem solving. 2. There are how much differences of achievement for each type of sentence stated problems by using comparative analysis of upper class, intermediate class, and lower class for each level between the experimental and comparative classes. In order to conduct this research the classes were divided into three different level - upper class, intermediate class and lower class. Each level include an experimental class and a comparative class. The two classes (experimental class and comparative class) of the same level were tested on the basis of class division record with the experimental class repeated learning papers for two weeks were used to guide the fixed thinking algorism for each sentence stated math problems. Eight common problems were chosen from a variety of textbooks : number calculation problems, velocity-distance-time problems, the density of a mixture, benefit problems, distribution problems, problems about working, ratio problems, the length of a figure problems. After conducting this research experiment The differences in achievement level between the experimental class and comparative class, were compared and analyzed through achievement tests made from the achievement test papers with seven problems, which were worth seventy points (total score). The conclusions of this thesis are as follows: Firstly, leaning activities through the usage of repeated learning papers for each level class produce an even development of achievement level especially in the case of the upper class learners, they have particular differences (between experimental class and comparative class) compared to the intermediate level and lower classes. Secondly, according to the analysis about achievement development each problems, learners easily accept the strategies of solution through the formula setting up to the problem of velocity -distance-time, and to the density of the mixture they adapted the picture drawing strategies interestingly, However each situation requires a variety of appropriate solution strategies. Teachers will have to employ other interesting solution strategies which relate to real life.

  • Viscum album coloratum (Korean mistletoe; KM) is a semi-parasitic plant growing on various trees. This plant hasbeen shown to possess a variety of biological functions such as immunomodulation, apoptosis-induction and antitumor activity. However, there is no information about how the extract of KM affects life span of the host. In this study, in order to examine the effect of KM on the longevity of the host, we investigated whether a Korean mistletoe extract (KME) was able to extend the life length in an experimental model using the spring silkworm moth of Bombyx mori (Lepidoptera bombycidae). We established a model test for survival in which all of the male and female moths died within 18 days after the beginning of the experiment. Mean survival time of female moths was longer than that of male moths. Both male and female moths fed with KME containing diet (200 or 400 ${\mu}g$/head/day) showed significantly higher mean survival times than those of the control moths. Studying the effect of KME on prolongation of mean survival time showed that male moths were more susceptible than female moths. The moths fed with KME-containing diet showed a slight decrease in body weight. Interestingly, however, no difference in food intake was observed between moths fed with KME-containing diet and those with control diet. In analysis for mRNA increase in the SIRT2 gene, a member of the Sir2 gene family playing important roles in regulation of cell death and prolongation of life span, moths fed with KME-containing diet showed a significant increase in SIRT2 gene expression. These results suggest that KME has a potential to extend the life span in Bombyx mori, and its effect is partly associated with increase in SIRT2 gene expression.

  • Histopathological changes in the witches'-broom mycoplasma (MLO) infected jujube trees after trunk injection of oxytetracycline HCl (OTC) solution were investigated by using light microscope, fluorescence microscope and electron microscope. In contrast to the healthy leaves, adaxial and abaxial bundle sheath extensions in the major veins of diseased leaves were highly developed, but mesophyll cells were very small, loose and necrosed. In the diseased leaves, excessive phloem was formed, xylem differentiation was supressed and polyphenols were accumulated. Jujube trees treated with 500ml of 2000ppm solution of OTC showed complete remission of witches'-broom symptoms above the injection site, but cells in the sheath extention were hypertrophied and sieve tube necrosis occurred in the secondary phloem of major veins. MLO-specific fluorescence was not observed in the samples of diseased jujube trees treated with OTC, while those from non-treated infectedstress distinctly showed a moderate amount of MLO-specific fluorescence. In the observation under the electron microscope, sieve element of diseased tissues and its associated companion cells were found to have collapsed. Parenchymas cells contained many large starch filled plastids and most samples of diseased and OTC-treated tissues showed an abnormal accumulation of starch compared to the healthy controls. Mycoplasma-like organisms were observed only within mature sieve elements in diseased tissues, but never in OTC-treated tissues.

  • Many harbor structures have been constructed, and some structures are now under construction in Korea, which is a peninsular state and a logistics hub in Northeast Asia. Expansions and extensions of existing harbors are also being planned to meet increasing natural disaster threats. Wave-dissipation concrete blocks are recycled or discarded based on the personal experience of engineers only, and there are no safety checks or criteria. To check the safety of used blocks, material evaluations were done by visual inspection of blocks on the ground and under water and from 20 non-destructive measurements of the rebound hardness test and 3 concrete core samples. Wave-dissipation blocks are sometimes fully or partially damaged in the process of transferring and mounting them or during construction. Therefore, a safety check is essential for recycling blocks with an evaluation of materials while considering the construction phases. To do this, a block was modeled with a 3D finite element method using ADINA, and impact analyses were done according to the transfer, mounting, and construction phases. From the results of the impact analyses and material evaluation, the safety checks and reasonable evaluation of used blocks were examined, and detailed construction methods are proposed. The methods are expected to maximize the reuse of used wave-dissipation blocks from an economical point of view.

  • With the rapid development of multimedia applications and wireless communication networks, consumer demand for video-over-wireless capability on mobile computing systems is growing rapidly. In this regard, this paper introduces YUV-aware instructions that enhance the performance and efficiency in the processing of color image and video. Traditional multimedia extensions (e.g., MMX, SSE, VIS, and AltiVec) depend solely on generic subword parallelism whereas the proposed YUV-aware instructions support parallel operations on two-packed 16-bit YUV (6-bit Y, 5-bits U, V) values in a 32-bit datapath architecture, providing greater concurrency and efficiency for color image and video processing. Moreover, the ability to reduce data format size reduces system cost. Experiment results on a representative dynamically scheduled embedded superscalar processor show that YUV-aware instructions achieve an average speedup of 3.9x over the baseline superscalar performance. This is in contrast to MMX (a representative Intel#s multimedia extension), which achieves a speedup of only 2.1x over the same baseline superscalar processor. In addition, YUV-aware instructions outperform MMX instructions in energy reduction (75.8% reduction with YUV-aware instructions, but only 54.8% reduction with MMX instructions over the baseline).

  • The process of wound repair involves an ordered sequence of events such as overlapping biochemical and cellular events that, in the best of circumstances, result in the restoration of both the structural and functional integrity of the damaged tissue. An important event during wound healing is the contraction of newly formed connective tissues by fibroblasts. The polypeptide growth factors, like transforming growth factor-${\beta}$(TGF-${\beta}$, insulin-like growth factor I (IGF- I) and epidermal growth factor (EGF), play very important mediator roles in the process of wound contraction. Deer antlers, as models of mammalian regeneration, are cranial appendages that develop after birth as extensions of a permanent protuberance (pedicle) on the frontal bone. Antlers contain various growth factors which stimulate dermal fibroblast growth. They are involved in digestion and respiration and are necessary for normal wound healing and skin health. In order to investigate and evaluate the effects of red deer antlers on skin wound site, the speed of full-thickness skin wound healing and the expression of IGF-I, TGF-${\beta}$ and EGF in skin wounds, three groups of skin full-thickness rat models with a high concentration of antler ointment, a low concentration of antler ointment and without antler ointment were compared. At post-injury days 0, 2, 4, 8, 16, 20, 32, 40 and 60, the skin wound area was measured, the expressions of IGF-I, TGF- ${\beta}$ and EGF mRNA were detected by reverse transcriptase polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) and collagen formation by sirius red dye and the localization of IGF-I, TGF-${\beta}$ and EGF peptides were inspected by histological immunohistochemical techniques. Wound healing was significantly more rapid in antler treated skins. In addition, the wound treated with a high concentration antler ointment, a low concentration antler ointment, and the control closed completely at post-injury day 40, day 44 and day 60, respectively. Via RT-PCR, the expressions of IGF-I (day 8 and day 16), TGF-${\beta}$(day 8, day 16 and day 20) and EGF (day 4, day 8, day 16, and day 32) were obviously up-regulated in high concentration antler-treated skins compared to control skins. Similar results could be seen in the histological detection of collagen dye and immunohistochemical methods using the corresponding polyclone antibodies of IGF-I, TGF-${\beta}$ and EGF. These results illustrate that antlers stimulate and accelerate the repair of cutaneous wounds.

  • An important issue in multiagent reinforcement learning is how an agent should team its optimal policy through trial-and-error interactions in a dynamic environment where there exist other agents able to influence its own performance. Most previous works for multiagent reinforcement teaming tend to apply single-agent reinforcement learning techniques without any extensions or are based upon some unrealistic assumptions even though they build and use explicit models of other agents. In this paper, basic concepts that constitute the common foundation of multiagent reinforcement learning techniques are first formulated, and then, based on these concepts, previous works are compared in terms of characteristics and limitations. After that, a policy model of the opponent agent and a new multiagent reinforcement learning method using this model are introduced. Unlike previous works, the proposed multiagent reinforcement learning method utilize a policy model instead of the Q function model of the opponent agent. Moreover, this learning method can improve learning efficiency by using a simpler one than other richer but time-consuming policy models such as Finite State Machines(FSM) and Markov chains. In this paper. the Cat and Mouse game is introduced as an adversarial multiagent environment. And effectiveness of the proposed multiagent reinforcement learning method is analyzed through experiments using this game as testbed.

  • As the application of BIM (Building Information Modeling) to the civil sector has become practical, and mandatory for road projects, the standardization, development of systems, etc. for the application and operation of BIM are required. In particular, it is important to develop BIM data standards for producing, sharing and managing the lifecycle data of civil facilities because they are commonly national public facilities. The BIM data standards have been developed by utilizing or extending IFC (Industry Foundation Classes), which is an international standard, but schema extensions of river facilities has not been developed thus far. This study proposes an approach to an IFC extension for river facilities using the WBS (Work Breakdown Structure) as a fundamental study for IFC-based schema extension in the river field. For this purpose, the research was carried out as follows. First, the IFC extension development method was selected to represent the river facilities by analyzing the existing IFC structure and previous research cases for the IFC extension. Second, extended elements of the river facilities were identified through an analysis of the WBS and classified according to the high-level structure of the IFC schema. Third, the classified elements were arranged based on the IFC hierarchy and the IFC schema extension for river facilities was established. Based on the suggested extension method of IFC schema, this study developed the schema by defining the element components and parts of river facilities, such as distribution flow elements and deriving their detailed types and properties.
