  • Multimedia presentations are a class of documents that are used for lectures, tour guides, business presentations, and in many other applications. These presentations comprise multimedia objects with a temporal structure that specifies when objects are to be delivered, for what duration, and what the temporal relationships among objects are. In this paper, we propose temporal extensions to XHTML that allow seamless integration of synchronized multimedia into web documents. The extensions are based on three concepts:(i) XHTML+TIME (in short, Xtime) links for temporal composition, (ii) common time bases for close synchronization between media objects, and (iii) dynamic layout for specifying regions of a screen for presentation. Also, we will show a flexible execution architecture to support these concepts in a multimedia presentation.

  • This study aimed to clarify the multifunctional services and space composition in the process of developing a multifunctional long-term care program in small elderly care facilities in Japan. We collected data about multifunctional long-term care at small facilities from the Community Life Support Center (CLC), a Japanese non-profit corporation, and conducted an interview survey of the members of the CLC's secretariat in 2014. Furthermore, we selected 3 Japanese pioneering care facilities (known as takurosho), and conducted interview surveys and data collection to clarify in detail the space composition and process of development of multifunctional long-term care at small facilities. Four distinct results were found. First, the facilities had gradually increased non-institutional services, including visitation, overnight stays, and long-term stays, to fit the needs of users and their families. Secondly, in the 1990s, they could offer both non-institutional and institutional services at the same facility, but after the long-term care insurance system began in 2000, non-institutional long-term stay services were not allowed. Third, the facilities had built extensions or extra rooms in response to increases in multifunctional services and users. These rooms had common characteristics, with sitting rooms at the center of the facility. Lastly, the maximum number of service users at each of the 3 facilities was limited to 15, to maintain a small scale. However, as the size of facilities was increased through building extensions or remodeling, the overall amount of area available to users increased.

  • Area-based stereo matchng algorithms are widely used for image analysis for stereo vision. SAD (Sum of Absolute Difference) algorithm is one of well known area-based stereo matchng algorithms with the characteristics of data intensive computing application. Therefore, it requires very high computation capabilities and its processing speed becomes very slow with software realization. This paper proposes a fast SAD algorithm utilizing SSE (Streaming SIMD Extensions) instructions based on SIMD (Single Instruction Multiple Data) parallism. CPU supporing SSE instructions has 16 XMM registers with 128 bits. For the performance evaluation of the proposed scheme, we compare the processing speed between SAD with/without SSE instructions. The proposed scheme achieves four times performance improvement over the general SAD, which shows the possibility of the software realization of real time SAD algorithm.

  • Redundancies in the Calculation of DFT and FFT are analized and new algorithms are proposed which are capable of reducing the machine time by a considerable amount. New extensions of T.D C.F. and T.D.F.T. are given for the discrete case which permit a deeper insights for the techniques of digital signal Proessing i. e. • In performance-based on fire safety design of buildings, design fires are assumed to be relatively coarse information on potential combustible objects described by its name, weight, size and main constituent materials. As early as 1970s, researchers from Japan has employed various methods of research regarding combustibles investigations. In result, researchers came up with one method that is being presently used. Therefore, our country basis in collection of data for combustibles yielded average measure, receipt rate of furniture usage and execution of combustible investigations to occupancy zone of university respondents. We have found out problem about excessive usage of multi-outlet extensions through research.

  • Rege-Chhawchharia, and Nielsen introduced the concept of right McCoy ring, based on the McCoy's theorem in 1942 for the annihilators in polynomial rings over commutative rings. In the present note we concentrate on a natural generalization of a right McCoy ring that is called a right nilpotent coefficient McCoy ring (simply, a right NC-McCoy ring). The structure and several kinds of extensions of right NC-McCoy rings are investigated, and the structure of minimal right NC-McCoy rings is also examined.

  • The concept of the quasi-Armendariz property of rings properly contains Armendariz rings and semiprime rings. In this paper, we extend the quasi-Armendariz property for a polynomial ring to the skew polynomial ring, hence we call such ring a ${\sigma}$-quasi-Armendariz ring for a ring endomorphism ${\sigma}$, and investigate its structures, several extensions and related properties. In particular, we study the semiprimeness and the quasi-Armendariz property between a ring R and the skew polynomial ring R[x;${\sigma}$$] of R, and so these provide us with an opportunity to study quasi-Armendariz rings and semiprime rings in a general setting, and several known results follow as consequences of our results.

  • If k is a subfield of $\mathbb{Q}(\varepsilon_m)$ then the cohomology group $H^2(k(\varepsilon_n)/k)$ is isomorphic to $H^2(k(\varepsilon_{n'})/k)$ with gcd(m, n') = 1. This enables us to reduce a cyclotomic k-algebra over $k(\varepsilon_n)$ to the one over $k(\varepsilon_{n'})$. A radical extension in projective Schur algebra theory is regarded as an analog of cyclotomic extension in Schur algebra theory. We will study a reduction of cohomology group of radical extension and show that a Galois cohomology group of a radical extension is isomorphic to that of a certain subextension of radical extension. We then draw a cohomological characterization of radical group.

  • We suggest a generalized Lax pair on a Hermitian symmetric space to generate a new coupled higher-order nonlinear $Schr{\ddot{o}}dinger$ equation of a dual type which contains both bright and dark soliton equations depending on parameters in the Lax pair. Through the generalized ways of reduction and the scaling transformation for the coupled higher-order nonlinear $Schr{\ddot{o}}dinger$ equation, two integrable types of higher-order dark soliton equations and their extensions to vector equations are newly derived in addition to the corresponding equations of the known higher-order bright solitons. Analytical discussion on a general scalar solution of the higher-order dark soliton equation is then made in detail.
