확장형 규칙 표식 언어(eXtensible Rule Markup Language): 설계 원리 및 응용

  • XML(eXtensible Markup Language, XML)은 인터넷에서의 자료 교환을 위해 고안된 언어이다. 본 논문에서는 XML의 개념을 발전시킨 확장형 규칙 표식 언어(extensible Rule Markup Language, XRML)를 제안하고 있다. XRML은 웹 페이지에 내재된 암묵적 규칙의 식별, 구조적인 규칙으로의 변환, 사람과 소프트웨어 에이전트간의 지식 공유를 가능하게 하며, 이를 통해 지식기반시스템(Knowledge Based System)과 지식관리시스템(Knowledge Management System)의 통합을 실현할 수 있는 새로운 언어가 될 것이다. 본 고에서는 XRML이 이상과 같은 능력을 갖기 위해 반드시 갖춰야 할 6가지 설계 기준과, 이들 기준을 반영한 XRML 구성 요소로서 RIML(Rule Identification Markup Language), RSML(Rule Structure Markup Language)과 RTML(Rule Triggering Markup Language)을 설계하였으며, 개별 요소들의 기능 및 특성과 함께 태그와 DTD(Document Type Definition)도 식별하였다. 나아가 전술한 구조를 기반으로 하여 XRML을 워크플로우 시스템상의 폼처리에 적용한 Form/XRML이라는 프로토타입 시스템을 설계하고 구현하였다. 본 프로토타입의 개발을 통해, 지식기반시스템의 지식을 활용하는 RTML이 폼을 비롯한 다양한 응용시스템에 내재될 수 있으며, 웹 페이지의 암묵적 규칙과 지식기반시스템의 규칙이 일관성 있게 유지될 수 있음을 보여 주었다. 요컨대 본 연구는 XRML이 지능형 웹으로 발전하기 위한 새로운 도구이며, KBS와 US의 통합을 위한 중요한 도구임을 입증하였다는 점에서 큰 의의를 갖는다고 하겠다.

  • extensible Markup Language (XML) is a new markup language for data exchange on the Internet. In this paper, we propose a language extensible Rule Markup Language (XRML) which is an extension of XML. The implicit rules embedded in the Web pages should be identifiable, interchangeable with structured rule format, and finally accessible by various applications. It is possible to realize by using XRML. In this light, Web based Knowledge Management Systems (KMS) can be integrated with rule-based expert systems. To meet this end, we propose the six design criteria: Expressional Completeness, Relevance Linkability, Polymorphous Consistency, Applicative Universality, Knowledge Integrability and Interoperability. Furthermore, we propose three components such as RIML (Rule Identification Markup Language), RSML (Rule Structure Markup Language) and RTML (Rule Triggering Markup Language), and the Document Type Definition DTD). We have designed the XRML version 0.5 as illustrated above, and developed its prototype named Form/XRML which is an automated form processing for disbursement of the research fund in the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAISI). Since XRML allows both human and software agent to use the rules, there is huge application potential. We expect that XRML can contribute to the progress of Semantic Web platforms making knowledge management and e-commerce more intelligent. Since there are many emerging research groups and vendors who investigate this issue, it will not take long to see XRML commercial products. Matured XRML applications may change the way of designing information and knowledge systems in the near future.

Adaptive Conversion of Web Content for Mobile Terminals (이동단말을 위한 적응적 웹 문서 변환)

  • In this paper, we proposed an efficient document conversion mechanism to provide a adaptive web document to mobile terminals. We also proposed a RHTML(Reduced HTML) to archive the adaptive tag reduction. Markup error correction process in the proposed adaptive document conversion mechanism converts a HTML(HyperText Markup Language) document into a XML(Extensible Markup Language) application document. This. process makes web document easy to handle with a DOM (Document Object Mode)) as the tree model and removes the hardware overhead in mobile terminals. Also, tag reduction process provides the adaptive web document with three DTD(Document Type Definition)s in the RHTML.

  • In this paper, we propose an efficient method to describe and save Jeongganbo score which has various structures and symbols by using XML (Extensible Markup Language). To do this, analysis of Jeongganbo's structures, and classification of symbols for jeongganbo were preformed. Then, Jeongganbo DTD (Document Type Definition) was defined to describe Jeongganbo score in XML document. To verify the proposed method, we produced a Jeongganbo score XML file for real Jeongganbo score according to the proposed Jeongganbo DTD, and then evaluated the produced XML file by using Jeongganbo XML interpreter software which can interpret the Jeongganbo XML file and represent the Jeongganbo score.

  • As the increasing interest about geographical information, such researches and applied fields become wide. OGC(Open GIS Consortium) developed GML(Geography Markup Language) which is adopted XML(extensible Markup Language) in GIS field. In various applied field, GML is used and studied continuously. This paper try to find out the meaningful rules using Apriori algorithm from GML documents, one of the data mining techniques which is studied based on existing XML documents There are two ways to find out the rules. One is the way that find out the related rules as extracting the content in GML documents, the other find out the related rules based on used tags and attributes. This paper describes searching the rules through two ways and shows the system adopted two ways.

  • XML(extensible Markup Language) of W3C(World Wide Web Consortium) that is used the standard core technology of data exchange on the current Internet is an independent data type of usable at the all platforms. Especially, it can handle rapidly because of the integration of each other data types that is exchanged. Between each application and system that built at an enterprise in the past. However, W3C had notice to use XSLT(extensible Stylesheet Language Transformation) that is document transformable standard to descript expression information in XML documents because documents of XML only have a logical structure information. It is designed for XML that is developed for data exchange on the internet. Moreover, it is proposed to process and to change as other data type for expression XML documents for user. This thesis design and implement XSLT document editing system transformable as a un data type as a HTML data type applying XSLT at XML and developed the system. It can edit XSLT document that descript expression information in XML document that is used for data editing in the WYSIWYG environment.

  • In Korea, WAP and ME have been used for wireless Internet services. Two methods are different in markup languages used, therefore contents providers have to use two different markup languages to provide an internet service. To solve this problem, we present a design and implementation of a markup language conversion module between WML and M-HTML.

  • The explosive growth of the Web is providing end-users access to ever-increasing volumes of information. The resources of legacy systems and relational databases have also been made available to the Web browser, which has become an essential business tool. Recently, model management on the Internet/Web is also proposed with its conceptual design or prototypical system like DecisionNet and DSS Web. However, they are also suffering from the same symptoms as the Web, Although we can identify the elements of a page with HTML tags and (declare) the relationships among the various document elements, they are semantically opaque to computer systems and have no domain-specific meaning. However, HTML is not extensible, so developers are forced to invent convoluted, non-standard solutions for embedding and parsing data. Extensible Markup Language (XML) is a simplified subset of SGML that has many benefits for folks who want to improve structure, maintainability, searchability, presentation, and other aspects of their document management. This paper proposes a structured markup language for model representation and management on the Web as an XML application. The language is based on a conceptual modeling framework, Object-Oriented Structured Modeling (OOSM), which is an extension of the structured modeling.
