  • In this describes the results of a study on the thermal expansion of FRP tube/flange for improved tightness characteristics of polymer bushing. The thermal expansion of FRP tube and flange were investigated. The thermal expansion of flange, FRP tube were studied by TGA, TMA. AS winding tension is increased glass fiber contents was increased in the range of 70.89~78.74 and thermal expansion coefficient was decreased in the range of 29.90~13.50.

  • The crash energy absorbers used in the trains normally are classified into two types. The first is the structure type, which mainly used in not only the primary structure of train but also the crash energy absorbers at the critical accidents. The second is the module type, which just absorbs the crash energy independently and attached onto the structures of the trains. The expansion tube is widely used as the module type of the crash energy absorbers, especially in the trains that have a heavy mass. Since the crash energy is absorbed by means of expanding the tube in the radial direction, the features of the expansion tube have the uniform load during the compression. As the uniform load remains in sudden impact, the expansion tube is effective to decrease acceleration of passengers when the train accident occur. The buckling instability of the expansion tubes is affected by the boundary conditions, thickness and length of tube. In this study, the effects of the length and thickness of the expansion tubes under the arbitrary load on the buckling are studied using the ABAQUS/standard and ABAQUS/explicit, a commercial finite element analysis program, and then presents the guideline to design the expansion tubes. The analysis processes to compute the buckling load consist of the linear buckling analysis and the nonlinear post-buckling analysis. To analysis the nonlinear post-buckling analysis, the geometry imperfections are introduced by applying the linear buckling modes to nonlinear post-buckling analysis.

연결세경관을 이용한 휜관형 열교환기의 기계확관에 의한 전열특성 (Heat Transfer Characteristics of Fin-Tube Heat Exchanger using Two-Port Tube of Small Inner Diameter by Mechanical Expansion)

  • The fin and tube heat exchanger using a two-port tube has in air-conditioner heat exchanger because heat transfer performance. This study investigates the feasibility of a fin and tube heat exchanger using two-port copper tube by mechanical expansion. The optimum size of the tube-expanding bullet for the heat exchanger using two-port tube was through numerical calculation. The heat exchanger using a two-port tube was fabricated by mechanical expansion, and the heat exchanger performance was evaluated condensation and evaporation experiments. Compared to the heat exchanger of a conventional circular tube, the pressure drop per unit length of the heat exchanger with a two-port tube decreased. Compared to the heat exchanger using a conventional circular tube, the overall heat transfer coefficient of heat exchanger with a two-port tube increased up to 13% in the case of condensation, and up to 25% in the case of evaporation. The two-port tube heat exchanger outperforms conventional heat exchanger for air conditioner with a inner grooved circular tube.

폭발접합된 열교환기류 튜브와 튜브시트의 계면 특성에 관한 고찰 (A Study on the Tube/tubesheet Interface in the Heat Exchangers Jointed by Explosive Bonding)

  • Characteristics of the interface between tube and tube sheet which were formed by explosive expansion and roll expansion, have been studied in the research. The results are as follows: Optimum amounts of explosives for the expansion of Alloy 600 (19.05mm and 15.88mm) were found to be RDX 3.5-8.5g/m. Because explosive expansion caused les strain hardening and increased bounding strength, characteristics of the explosively expanded were better than those of mechanically expanded. As the transition region of the explosive expansion is inactive, the resistance to the stress corrosion cracking increases by 30∼40% compared to the roll and hydraulic expansion.

유한요소법을 이용한 팽창튜브의 좌굴불안전성에 관한 연구 (Study on Buckling Instability of Expansion Tube using Finite Element Method)

  • 충돌에너지는 다이에 의해 확관되는 팽창튜브의 소성변형에너지로 흡수된다. 충돌에너지를 성공적으로 흡수하기 위하여 튜브가 팽창되는 동안 좌굴이 발생해서는 안 된다. 팽창튜브의 좌굴불안전성은 초기경계조건과 튜브 두께 그리고 길이에 영향을 받는다. 본 연구는 동적 축 하중을 받는 팽창튜브의 좌굴을 예측하기 위한 경계조건의 결정, 기하학적 결함의 적용 그리고 재료의 비선형성과 동적효과를 적용하는 일련의 해석방법 및 절차를 제안하였다. 또한, 기하학적 결함의 적용이 튜브의 좌굴하중과 좌굴형상에 미치는 영향을 유한요소해석 결과를 통하여 분석하였고 튜브두께와 기하학적 결함의 상관관계를 연구하였다. 해석결과 기하학적 결함과 튜브의 좌굴형상은 밀접한 관계가 있었고 튜브의 두께가 작으면 기하학적 결함에 상관없이 좌굴하중은 변하지 않았다. 하지만, 두께가 증가할 경우 결함율이 증가하면 좌굴하중이 감소하는 경향을 보였다.

마이크로핀관의 확관 전후 증발열전달 특성에 관한 실험적 연구 (An Experimental Study on Evaporative Heat Transfer Characteristics in Micro-Fin Tubes Before and After Expansion Process)

  • An experimental study on evaporative heat transfer characteristics in micro-fin tubes before and after expansion process has been performed with R-22. Single-grooved micro-fin tubes with outer diameter of 9.52 mm were used as test sections, and it was uniformly heated by applying direct current to the test tubes. Experiments were conducted at mass flow rates of 20 and 30 kg/hr. For each mass flow rate condition, evaporation temperature was set at 5 and $15^{\circ}C$and heat flux was changed from 6 to 11 kW/$m^2$ The evaporative heat transfer coefficient of micro-fin tubes after expansion is decreased because of the crush of fins and enlargement of inner diameter compared to that before expansion. Convective boiling effect decreased remarkably at higher quality range in the micro-fin tube after expansion, and the difference of the heat transfer coefficient in micro-fin tubes before and after expansion was greater for higher quality region. The evaporative heat transfer coefficient of the micro-fin tube after expansion was 19.9% smaller on the average than that before expansion.

인버터형 냉동시스템의 팽창장치 변경에 따른 성능특성 (Performance of an inverter refrigeration system with a change of expansion devices)

  • An experimental study was performed to investigate characteristics of an inverter driven water-to-water refrigeration system with a variation of compressor frequencies and expansion devices. The frequency of a compressor varied from 30Hz to 75Hz, and performance of the systems applying three different expansion devices such as capillary tube, thermostatic expansion valve(TXV), and electronic expansion valve(EEV) were measured. The load conditions were altered by varying the temperature of the secondary fluid entering condenser and evaporator with a constant flow rate. When the test conditions were deviated from the standard value(rated value), TXV and EEV showed better performance than capillary tube due to optimum control of mass flow rate and superheat. In the present study, it was observed that the variable area expansion device had better performance than constant area expansion device in an inverter refrigeration system due to active control of flow area with a change of compressor frequency and load conditions.

유한요소법을 이용한 헤어핀 형 열 교환기의 튜브 확관에 대한 연구 (Study of Tube Expansion to Produce Hair-Pin Type Heat Exchanger Tubes using the Finite Element Method)

  • To predict the deformation and fracture during tube expansion using the finite element (FE) method, a material model is considered that incorporates the damage evolution due to the deformation. In the current study, a Rice-Tracey model was used as the damage model with inclusion of the hydrostatic stress term. Since OFHC Cu is not significantly affected by strain rate, a Hollomon flow stress model was used. The material parameters in each model were obtained by using an optimization method. The objective function was defined as the difference between the experimental measurements and FE simulation results. The parameters were determined by minimizing the objective function. To verify the validity of the FE modeling, cross-verification was conducted through a tube expansion test. The simulation results show reasonable agreement with the experiments. The design for a minimum diameter of expansion tube using the FE modeling was verified by a simplified tube expansion test and simulation results.

  • The Purpose of this is properties of CFT filled with expansion concrete. CFT(concrete filled steel tube) is the structure that circle shape steel column filled with concrete. 3 kinds of expansive additives and variation of replacement rate. we changed expansive additive from 0%, 10%, 20%, 30% of ratio of addition rate are selected for this experiment. Merits of CFT are concrete internal force rising influenced by steel shape restriction, reinforcing the local buckling, excellent resistance to transformation. Generally, High rise building using CFT utilize the high strength and fluidity concrete for packing the tube inside. As the result a steel tube charged expensive concrete has stiffness 1.5times more than a steel tube not charged concrete. Increase of resisting power about compressive stress by binding expansion of expansive concrete affects strength increase and softness.

원전 증기발생기 전열관의 확관방법에 따른 응력부식균열 저항성 연구 (A Study on the Resistance of Stress Corrosion Cracking due to Expansion Methods for Steam Generator Tubes in Nuclear Power Plants)

  • 원자력발전소의 증기발생기 전열관은 가동 중에 다양한 형태의 부식 손상이 발생한다. 전열관의 외면에 발생하는 응력부식균열은 2차측 응력부식균열이라 불리는데 주로 전열관의 확관천이지역에서 발생한다. 그 원인은 이 지역의 기하학적 특성과 관련된 슬러지의 침적에 의한 불순물의 농축과 증기 발생기 제작과정에서 확관에 의한 잔류응력이다. 특히 잔류응력은 확관방법에 따라 방향성 및 그 크기가 달라지는데 전열관에 발생하는 균열의 방향 및 발생빈도는 이와 관련이 있다. 현장 경험에 따르면, 폭발확관된 전열관은 수압확관된 전열관에 비해 확관천이 부위에서 원주방향 균열이 잘 발생하는 것으로 나타났다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 예민화된 증기발생기 전열관에 대한 응력부식균열 시험을 통해 확관법에 따른 특정방향 균열의 발생빈도 및 균열 크기를 비교하였다. 또한 균열이 발생된 전열관의 파단면 검사를 통해 균열 양상과 수화학 환경 중의 특정 성분의 영향을 관찰하였다.
