After bibliographic study on function of the brain(腦, nao) on the basis of zangxiang theory(藏象論的), the theory of visceral activities), the following conclusions were obtained: 1. Brain is the organ conglomerated with marrow(隨, sui) between Baihui(百會) and Fengfu(風府) 2. Brain has different function and names according to the parts. 3. Brain is on anatomical view the extraordinary organ(奇恒之府, qiheng zhi fu) and stores clarified air(氣, qi) of fresh air. 4. Brain is the places where the viral essence (精, jeong) of five viscera is activated. 5. Brain is the places where the vital essence congeries into the mind(神, shen) Yang form of the essence. 6. The mind converted from the brain emerges in the whole body the sensory organs and carries vital function. 7. Brain reservoirs the mind, while the heart(心, xm) is thought to make judgement inroyght the speculation on the outward stimulus of matter and give orders to the mind in the chest.

Objective : Ancestral qi and vitality qi are the most significant qi in lung and heart. However, the origins and functions of those qi are not quite detailed somehow. Method : I will try to find out the origins and functions of ancestral qi and vitality qi through "Hwangdineijing". Result : The ancestral qi is the essence of lung and the vitality qi is the essence of heart. Conclusion : The function of ancestral qi is what puts nutrient qi and defence qi into meridians to make them being rightways of meridians and those of vitality qi is what pushes ahead nutrient qi and defence qi through meridians.

기존의 멀티미디어 메일은 대용량 메일이라 개인 사용자에게 그 부담이 크지 않을 수가 업었다. 이에 인터넷 기반에서 멀티미디어 데이터서버에 대해서 많은 제품뿐만 아니라 서비스에 대한 QoS 만족을 위해 많은 연구실에서 연구해 왔었다. 특히나, VOD 서버나 인터넷방송을 위한 서버의 구축을 위해 많은 연구가 있어왔다. 본 연구는 인터넷기반이 아닌 본 연구실의 프로덕트인 VIP(Visual Interface Player)와 멀티미디어 스트림 엔진인 Essence를 이용한 멀티미디어 동영상 메일 전송 기법과 Essence를 이용한 동영상 멀티미디어 메일을 저장하는데 필요한 Essence내에 데이터베이스를 지원하기 위한 DBMedium 개발과 데이터베이스 라이브러리를 개발하기 위한 일련의 과정을 제안하고 있다.

Senile involution is divided into two classes : physiological senile involution and pathological senile involution. Physiological senile involution is a natural process of vital action of decreasing Vital Essence and Energy in kidney that is a necessary physiological phenomenon. Pathological senile involution is an evidence of impairment of True Qi of internal human body. Human vital action is a changing process of life, senility, sickness, and death. In other words, this is a natural process of being full and decreasing of Vital Essence and Energy in kidney, and True Qi of human body decides this process. The Vital Essence and Energy in kidney vary, and they are influenced and restricted by various elements. The time of a senile involution varies individually. Human body protects and makes efforts not to leak out True Qi in effective ways. We can postpone a limit of time of physiological senile involution phenomenon. This is called 'Health Preservation' - resistance against senile involution.

As a result of studing on the "Joa-gui Em", we could reach conclusions as follows. 1. "Joa-gui Em" shows in vivo effect of that it supplement Kidney-Um essence and nomalize a physiological function of Kidney-Qi. 2. "Joa-gui Em" supplement Kidney-Um essence, it does not use in The Rise of Insubstantial Fire(음허화왕) body condition. 3. "Joa-gui Em" use in many ways women disease, in case of menstruation and meonpause disorder. 4. "Joa-gui Em" and "Joa-gui Hwan" are modification prescription of "Uk-mi-ji-hwang-hwan. 5. "Joa-gui Em" is a pure prescription in supplement Kidney-Um essence, Roast Glycyrrhizae Radix of prescription has effect of supplement Sam-cho Qi. 6. "Joa-gui Hwan" is similarly "Joa-gui Em." Colla Cornus Cervi and a Colla Cornus Glemmys of prescription have effect of supplement DUMAI and RENMAI CHONGMAI.

Angelica gigas extract and Cnidium of ficinale extract in Bath essence were determined by high performance liquid chromatography with a UV detector by use of Bondapak C-18 column. Decursin and Ligustilide were used as indicator ingredient for analysis of Angelica gigas extract and Cnidium of ficinale extract. Each indicator ingredient was isolated from each plant and purified using silver-ni-trate treated silica column. Their structure were conformed with IR, NMR and HPLC. The recoveries of Angelica gigas extract and Cnidium officinale extract added to Bath essence sample were 96.5-109.5% and 112-115%.

This study was conducted to establish a service philosophy as a major ideology in the New Economy and Society. The service philosophy, which is the ideological foundation to lead the service economy era, should be an idea that can develop the new economy society, reflecting the nature principle of the universe and human being. The service philosophy was derived based on the study of the human representative ideology and the study of the new economy and service essence. A good idea must be consistent with the principles of the universe and be consistent with the essence of the human representative ideology, so that it reflects the core principles of the universe and the core of human representative ideas. In addition, the central idea should reflect the changes of the New Economy Society in the future. Therefore, the essence of the service and the change of the New Economy Society were analyzed. We analyzed the social and philosophical significance of the macroscopic cosmology and the microscopic quantum theory of modern physics. We analyzed the essence of Oriental and Western representative ideas and derived implications of these ideas from the viewpoint of modern society where service is central. Based on the essence principle of the universe and human, we have established the service philosophy structure and derived the human, historical, social, economic, and managerial aspects of service philosophy. The structure of the derived service philosophy was presented, and discussions were conducted for future research.

Background: Rehmanniae radix preparata is a medicinal herb widely used in Asian countries, to replenish Yin and Vital Essence through strengthen the kidney function. In Oriental Medicine the brain has physiological relationship with the Vital Essence. And central nerve system (CNS) is also refered to as 'Sea of the Vital Essence'. So if the Vital Essence is strong it will nourish the brain and memory will all be keen. The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of 7 to 14 days treatment with Rehmanniae radix preparata (3.4 g /100 g, per os) on retention performance of rats in a passive avoidance situation. Methods: Male Sprague-Dawley rats were trained on a one-trial passive avoidance task using a two-way shuttle box by giving a foot shock. They were tested for retention of 6h, 24h, 72h, 168h, and 336h after training. Results: Rehmanniae radix preparata treated rats showed a increased performance in retention test as compared to saline at 6hr (P<0.05) and 24hr (P<0.05). Conclusion: These data suggest that Rehmanniae radix preparata treatment can improve memory in the rat.
