  • The design criteria of Linear Induction Motors (LIM) for Auto-Conveyor System are proposed by analyzing of starting characteristics using an equivalent circuit. By contrasting the solution of the equivalent circuit with that of Maxwell's equation, we induced the parameters of the circuit. Also, the utility of the design criteria has been shown by comparing the basic characteristics with experimental values.

  • In this paper, the horizontal output and flyback transformer (FBT) stages during the retrace time are represented by a new simplified equivalent circuit. The circuit analysis is performed by means of this equivalent circuit and the computed results are compared with those of experiment The results show that for fixed other circuit parameters, the high voltage regulation depends upon the coupling factor of transformer, the V-I characteristics and the charge storage of the high voltage rectifying diodes. The computed output voltages are found to be about 3.9 to 5.8% higher than the measurements and these are probably due to the neglection of the transformer losses. These acceptable errors show that the newly suggested equivalent circuit is reasonable.

  • This paper presents an improved characteristic analysis methodology for a 5-phase hybrid stepping motor. The basic approach is based on the use of equivalent magnetic circuit taking into account the localized saturation throughout the hybrid stepping motor. The finite element method(FEM) is used to generate the magnetic circuit parameters for the complex stator and rotor teeth and airgap considering the saturation effects in tooth and poles. In addition, the neural network is used to map a change of parameters and predicts their approximation. Therefore, the proposed method efficiently improves the accuracy of analysis by using the parameter characterizing localized saturation effects and reduces the computational time by using the neural network. An improved circuit model of 5-phase hybrid stepping motor is presented and its application is provided to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed method.

  • The equivalent circuit of LIM is generally composed as the same that of rotary induction motor. However it is very difficult to move the LIM at synchronous velocity for open-secondary circuit test. The resistance representing the core losses in the primary core can not be ignored because the air-gap of LIM is larger than that of rotary induction motor. In this paper, the T-type equivalent circuit of a LIM with the core loss resistance is chosen using static zero slip test and theoritical analysis.

  • This paper presents an approach to evaluate the appropriate parameters for Piezoelectric ceramic utilization by adopting Impedance Method. Butterworth Van Dyke model (BVD) is considered to use as an equivalent circuit of Piezoelectric ceramic in case of no load. The experimental results from this model will be compared with the results from a circular Piezoelectric ceramic with 4.8 cm. diameter and 3 mm. thickness. The Thickness Mode vibration measured by Impedance Analyzer model 4192A can be analyzed from 1Hz to 13MHz for calculating and analyzing parameters at resonance frequency and anti-resonance frequency. These parameters are evaluated to design the efficient circuit for Piezoelectric ceramic utilization to obtain the optimal efficiency.

  • A double-role double through switch with defected ground structure (DGS) is Proposed. The equivalent circuit for the proposed switch structure is derived based on equivalent circuit of newly proposed DGS unit structure. The equivalent circuit parameters of DGS unit are extracted by using the circuit analysis method The on/off operation of the proposed switch Is obtained by varying the capacitance in the ground metallic plane The experimental results show excellent insertion loss characteristic at on state and isolation characteristic at off state.

  • 3D Equivalent magnetic Circuit Network Method (EMCNM) is comparatively the easy way that analyzes 3D models of Electric Machine by using permeance as a distributive magnetic circuit parameter under the existing magnetic equivalent circuit method and Numerical Method. The existing 3D EMCNM could not correctly describe the shape of an analysis target when using rectangular shape element or fan shape element, so it made errors when calculating permeance. Therefore, this paper use the trapezoidal element contained rectangular element. This paper calculate the torque based on the maxwell stress tenser method when the airgap is one layer, three layers, and 5 layers, respectively.

  • In this paper a DPDT(Double-Pole Double Through) switch with defected ground structure(DGS) is proposed. The equivalent circuit for the proposed switch structure is derived according to based on equivalent circuit of proposed DGS unit structure. The equivalent circuit parameters of DGS unit are extracted by using the circuit analysis method. The on/off operation of the proposed switch is obtained by varying the capacitance of the varactor diode at the defected ground plane. In the case of ON state, the insertion loss of the fabricated DPDT was shown under 1dB. And in OFF state, we found the rejection characteristic over 20dB at the designed frequency 2.45GHz. The experimental results show excellent insertion loss at on state and isolation at off state.

  • This paper presents the equivalent circuit modelling and eigenfrequency analysis of a wideband robust capacitive radio frequency (RF) microelectromechanical system (MEMS) switch that was designed using Poly-Si and Au layer membrane for highly reliable switching operation. The circuit characterization includes the extraction of resistance, inductance, on and off state capacitance, and Q-factor. The first six eigenfrequencies are analyzed using a finite element modeler, and the equivalent modes are demonstrated. The switch is optimized for millimeter wave frequencies, which indicate excellent RF performance with isolation of more than 55 dB and a low insertion loss of 0.1 dB in the V-band. The designed switch actuates at 13.2 V. The R, L, C and Q-factor are simulated using Y-matrix data over a frequency sweep of 20-100 GHz. The proposed switch has various applications in satellite communication networks and can also be used for devices that will incorporate the upcoming IEEE Wi-Fi 802.11ad protocol.

  • This paper presents a general theory for the analysis of an aperture-coupled cavity-fed microstrip patch antenna to develop a simple but accurate equivalent circuit model. The developed equivalent circuit consists of ideal transformers, admittance elements, and transmission lines. These circuit element values are computed by applying the complex power concept, the Fourier transform and series representation, and the spectral-domain immittance approach. The input impedance of the antenna is calculated and compared with the published data. Good agreements validate the simplicity and accuracy of the developed equivalent circuit model.
