Empirical Equation for Pollutant Loads Delivery Ratio in Nakdong River TMDL Unit Watersheds (낙동강 오염총량관리 단위유역 유달율 경험공식)

  • In this study daily flow rates and delivered pollutant loads of Nakdong river basin are simulated with modified TANK model and minimum variance unbiased estimator. Based on the simulation results, flow duration curves, load duration curves, and delivery ratio duration curves have been established. Then GIS analysis is performed to obtain several hydrological geomorphic characteristics such as watershed area, stream length, watershed slope and runoff curve number. Finally, multiple regression analysis is carried out to estimate empirical equations for pollutants delivery ratio. The results show that there is positive relation between the flow rates and delivery ratios, and the proposed empirical formulas for delivery ratio can predict well river pollutant loads.

  • In the original incremental Extended Horizon Control, the control inputs are computed recursively each step in the prediction horizon. But in this paper, we propose another incremental Extended Horizon Self-tuning Control version in which control inputs can be computed directly in any time interval. The effectiveness of this algorithm in a variable time delay or load disturbances environment is demonstrated by computer simulation. The controlled plant is a nonminimum phase system.

  • A sensorless controller of induction motor has several advantage availability in a harsh environment. In this paper, the speed information is driving from the currents and the estimated stator flux. To obtain the estimated stator flux, this study is using the Estimator. The simulation results show that the proposed scheme has activity over a wide speed range and good response to load variations.

  • This paper presents an adaptive receding horizon H$_{\infty}$ controller for the linear parameter varying systems in the deterministic environment, which combines a parameter range estimator and a robust receding horizon H$_{\infty}$ controller using the parameter bounds. Using parameter set inclusion and terminal inequality condition, the closed-loop system stability is guaranteed. It is shown that the stabilizing adaptive receding horizon H$_{\infty}$ controller guarantees the H$_{\infty}$ norm bound.

  • In this paper, we analyze a physical layer of W-CDMA .system and design a transmitter and receiver by using ADS (Advanced Design System). Also, we simulated a link level performance with different channel estimation algorithm in Jakes fading channel environment. For the channel estimator, we used the WMSA(Weighted Multi-Slot Averaging) algorithm, EGE(Equal Gain Estimation) algorithm and SSE(Symbol-to-Symbol Estimation) algorithm. This study will be useful in the analysis and design of W-CDMA system.

  • In the present paper some fundamentals about exceeding the guard interval of an OFDM system is going to discuss and will introduce method to cancel a ISI and ICI effects. In this paper, the performance characteristics of robust OFDM receiving system algorithm that is composed of a channel estimator using recursive least square(RLS) algorithm in time domain and of a ISI and ICI replica and subtracter using the channel coefficients are presented. By computer simulation method, the effect of suppression of ISI and ICI is demonstrated and compared the BER performance with a conventional 1-tap equalized system. Especially the presented scheme improves the BER performance at low SNRs more or so compared with the conventional one-tap equalized receiving configuration.

  • The parameters of bipolar random square-wave signal process, amplitude and phase with unknown probability distribution are shown to be simultaneously estimated by using Gauss-Markov estimator so that transmitted digital data can be recovered under the additive Gaussinan noise environment. However, we see that the preprocessing stage using the correlator composed of the multiplier and the running integrator is needed to convert the received process into the sampled sequences and to obtain the observed data vectors, which can be used for Gauss-Markov estimation.

  • This paper presents a number of verification case studies for a recently developed sensitivity/uncertainty code package. The code package, ROMUSE (Reduced Order Modeling based Uncertainty/Sensitivity Estimator) is an effort to provide an analysis tool to be used in conjunction with reactor core simulators, in particular the Virtual Environment for Reactor Applications (VERA) core simulator. ROMUSE has been written in C++ and is currently capable of performing various types of parameter perturbations and associated sensitivity analysis, uncertainty quantification, surrogate model construction and subspace analysis. The current version 2.0 has the capability to interface with the Design Analysis Kit for Optimization and Terascale Applications (DAKOTA) code, which gives ROMUSE access to the various algorithms implemented within DAKOTA, most importantly model calibration. The verification study is performed via two basic problems and two reactor physics models. The first problem is used to verify the ROMUSE single physics gradient-based range finding algorithm capability using an abstract quadratic model. The second problem is the Brusselator problem, which is a coupled problem representative of multi-physics problems. This problem is used to test the capability of constructing surrogates via ROMUSE-DAKOTA. Finally, light water reactor pin cell and sodium-cooled fast reactor fuel assembly problems are simulated via SCALE 6.1 to test ROMUSE capability for uncertainty quantification and sensitivity analysis purposes.

Performance Analysis of Cascade AOA Estimator with Concentric Ring Array Antenna (동심원 배열 안테나를 적용한 캐스케이드 도래각 추정 성능분석)

  • The Angle-of-Arrival(AOA) information for an array antenna receiver is one of the important factors for estimating the location of specific signals and detecting signals efficiently, in various situations. The AOA estimator in the satellite environment can rapidly calculate the AOA information in the wide area, utilizing a planar (grid, circular) array antenna mounted on the satellite. Since the satellite receiver has the limitation of the array antenna size, the concentric circular (ring) array (CCA or CRA) antenna structure with comparatively small size but with multiple antenna elements is more efficient than the uniform circular array (UCA) structure, for the satellite environment. In this paper, we introduce a cascade AOA estimation algorithm based on CRA, consisting of CAPON and Beamspace MUSIC. In addition, we provide computer simulation examples for verifying the estimation performance of the cascade AOA estimation algorithm based on CRA and compare it to the case of UCA.

Design of an enhanced SIR measurement algorithm for WCDMA mobile station Modem (WCDMA 단말 모뎀을 위한 개선된 SIR 측정 알고리즘 설계)

  • In this paper, we propose an enhanced SIR measurement algorithm for WCDMA mobile station modem. The proposed algorithm minimizes processing delay by applying velocity estimation-based channel estimator with IIR filter and reduces measured SIR offset by compensating attenuated signal power by using pilot channel(CPICH) in fading channel environment. To improve stability of SIR measurement, we also adopt an IIR filter which can properly reflect variation of fading channel in signal and interference power measurement. We prove that the proposed algorithm outperforms conventional SIR measurement algorithm in mean and jitter of measured SIR. Computer simulation shows that performance results using the proposed algorithm have improvement of approximately 8dB for measured mean and 2dB for measured jitter in the wireless mobile channel, especially in fast mobile speed environment.
