The coastal waters and the adjacent coastal lands strongly influenced by each other and includes islands, transitional and intertidal ares, salt marshes wetlands and beaches. We focus on the coastal zone because of its unique geographical characteristics, Its ecological and economic importance, and the increasing pressures on its integrity. Our coastal zone have been controlled individually about 50 of a different kind of laws, as a result, to reach an individual purpose of the laws, people have developed the coastal zone without considering environmental condition, which brought about ecological destruction, pollution and devastation of the coastal areas. Finally, In 1999, the Coastal Management Act and the Wetlands Conservation Act were established and hereafter the environmental concern has been increased. They will be an important role to preserve our environment of coastal zone. Here I will examine the Laws concerned with environmental management of coastal zone and indicate immanent problems of it. So, I expect that problems will be improved one by one through this paper.

Is the social web environment in which production, distribution and consumption of information occurs from users an environment where manifestation of collective intelligence is easily made? Or is the social web environment a condition that incites people to depend on the groupthink due to biased information? It is important to conduct empirical studies on the possibility of social media as a tool of collective intelligence under the situation where conflicting opinions prevail. However, most of the existing studies related to this were limited to an exploratory research rather than an empirical research. In this regard, this study attempted to examine if the social media can perform a part as a platform of the collective intelligence empirically. Based on the experimental results, it can be safely said that the communication methods of social media showed its usefulness in both 'intellectual capacity of the group' and 'problem-solving skill of the group.'

In the mobile environment, according to the movement of the object, the query finds the nearest special object or place from object position. However, because query object moves continuously in the mobile environment, query demand changes according to the direction attribute of query object. Also, in the case of moving of query object and simply the minimum distance value of query result, sometimes we find the result against the query object direction. Especially, in most road condition, as user has to return after reaching U-turn area, user rather spends time and cost. Therefore, in order to solve those problems, in this paper we propose the nearest neighbor method considering moving object position and direction for mobile recommendation system.

A limit switch box is used for an indicator of a valve actuator. This device indicates an opening and closing of a valve or a throttle in the valve actuator. In a ship, equipments require safety and robustness because of a rough environment and a specific condition during a voyage. However, the limit switch box has been used in an indoor environment generally. This study developed a new limit switch box which can be used at an outdoor environment. This study designed the new limit switch box. The housing of the limit switch box was made by an aluminum die cast method with surface painting after anodizing or chromate coating. In order to evaluate the endurance of the housing, the endurance tests against salt water have been conducted. Experiment results showed that the proposed device provides a reliable performance against salt water.

Because ATM was originally designed for the optical fiber environment with bit error rate(BER) of 10-11, it is difficult to maintain ATM cell extraction capability in wireless environment where BER ranges from 10-6 to 10-3. Therefore, it must be proposed the algorithm of ATM cell extraction in wereless environment. In this paper, the frame structure and synchronization algorithm satisfyling the above condition are explained, and the new ASIC implementation method of this algorithm is proposed. The known method using shift register needs so many gates that it is not suitable for ASIC implementation. But in the proposed method, a considerable reduction in gate count can be achieved by using random access memory.

Corrosion of reinforced concrete structures in marine environment is one of the most important mechanisms of deterioration. Under Korean highway bridge, the time for the steel reinforcement in the concrete to exhibit initial signs of corrosion is within three decades. Therefore, 'SUM JIN' highway bridge, located in a corrosive marine environment on the south of Korea, had been examined the current condition of the steel reinforcement corrosion in concrete by half-cell potentials, chloride contamination of concrete and so on. According to the tests, the protecting film around the reinforcement is deteriorated and corrosion activity developed in tidal zone. The purpose of this paper is to report the effects of 'SUM JIN' highway bridge damaged by chlodide attack and to present the results of repair of 'SUM JIN' highway concrete bridge in domestic marine environment.

Three types of commercial broiler farms were surveyed to evaluate the effects of housing and production systems on environment and performances in broiler production. Environment condition of broiler house was better in windowless type than vinyl house. Ammonia, carbon dioxide and dust in vinyl house was 28ppm, 2,000ppm, 50.5CPM, respectively. Mortality was higher in vinyl house than that of widowless broiler house. Body weights at the age of 39 days were 1,551g, 1,607g and 1,620g of vinly house, open-sided broiler house and windowless broiler house, respectively. The incidence of abnormal carcass from the vinyl house was higher than those of the others.

The purpose of this study was to investigate the present conditions of thermal environment in small-size apartments. The research methods used were measuring of environmental elements and personal self-administration for the residents' thermal comfort responses. The house subjected were 25 peung apartments facing southeast and southwest directions. The results of this study were summarized as follow ; The indoor temperature and humidity of houses subjected were 25.0∼27.3℃, 37.1∼42.5%. Compared with the distribution of indoor temperature and globe temperature of houses subjected, those of southeast house were more stable. And in the residents' thermal sensation responses, the residents of southeast houses checked more often neutral zone. Therefore the thermal environment of southeast houses were more comfortable condition than southwest houses.

The objective of this thesis is to measure the limit of the real space where wireless Local Area Network (LAN) is used, and to apply this result as reference to set up a real Wireless LAN environment. The organized circumference was composed of Wireless LAN based on IEEE 802.11b of the American standard, and the examination is carried out on the campus. On the real condition of office environment and open space, the ratio of available distance to a signal at each distance was measured and this result was studied as data to embody wireless LAN on the campus. The measurement under an indoor environment was executed under circumstance having two walls and open space, however, was executed respectively under three circumstances: Where no obstacle, where one wall exists, and where two or more walls exist.
