2D to 3D 창의적 생성을 위한 탐색적 실험 분석 (Exploratory Experimental Analysis for 2D to 3D Generation)

  • 딥러닝은 최근 몇 년 동안 비약적인 발전을 하였고 다양한 분야 및 산업에 영향을 주고 있다. 예술영역도 예외일 수는 없는데 본 논문에서는 시각예술·공학적 관점에서 2D 이미지를 3D로 창의적으로 생성하는 방법을 실험하고자 한다. 이를 위해 국내 아티스트 원본 이미지를 GAN 또는 Diffusion Models로 학습시킨 후 3D 변환 소프트웨어와 딥러닝을 활용하여 3D로 변환하고 그 결과를 선행연구 알고리즘과 비교 실험함으로써 2D to 3D 창의적 생성의 문제점과 개선점을 분석하고자 한다.

Effect of sodium stearoyl-2-lactylate (PROSOL®) supplementation on growth performance and nutrient digestibility in growing pigs

  • The aim of this study is to evaluate the effects of supplementation of low-energy diets with PROSOL® (sodium stearoyl-2-lactylate) as an emulsifier on the growth performance and nutrient digestibility of growing pigs. A total of 120 crossbred ([Landrace × Yorkshire] × Duroc) growing pigs with an average initial body weight of 23.80 ± 4.87 kg were used in a 56-day feeding trial and were sorted into three dietary treatments. Each treatment utilized eight replications with five pigs per pen. The dietary treatments were as follows: PC (high, net energy diet [NE] = 2,488 kcal·kg-1 [weeks 1 to 4] and NE = 2,477 kcal·kg-1 [weeks 5 to 8]); NC (low, NE = 2,472 kcal·kg-1 [weeks 1 to 4] and NE = 2,468 kcal·kg-1 [weeks 5 to 8]); NC1 (NC + 0.05% PROSOL® emulsifier). Growth performance outcomes were measured at the initial point and at weeks 4 and 8 while nutrient digestibility parameters were measured at weeks 4 and 8. From weeks 1 - 8, body weight and the average daily gain of the NC1 group pigs showed significant increases (p < 0.05) compared to those of the PC and NC treatment groups. At the end of the trail, pigs fed a diet containing low net energy with 0.05% of the emulsifier showed reduced feed conversion ratio (FCR) levels. However, the average daily feed intake and nutrient digestibility of dry matter and nitrogen remained unaffected throughout the experiment. In summary, the addition of a low-net-energy diet with 0.05% sodium stearoyl-2-lactylate as an emulsifier enhanced the body weight and daily gain with no adverse effects on nutrient digestibility in growing pigs.

Percutaneous Dilatational Tracheostomy in a Cardiac Surgical Intensive Care Unit: A Single-Center Experience

  • Background: A significant proportion of cardiac surgery intensive care unit (CSICU) patients require long-term ventilation, necessitating tracheostomy placement. The goal of this study was to evaluate the long-term postoperative outcomes and complications associated with percutaneous dilatational tracheostomy (PDT) in CSICU patients. Methods: All patients undergoing PDT after cardiac, thoracic, or vascular operations in the CSICU between January 1, 2013 and January 1, 2021 were identified. They were evaluated for mortality, decannulation time, and complications including bleeding, infection, and need for surgical intervention. Multivariable regression models were used to identify predictors of early decannulation and the complication rate. Results: Ninety-three patients were identified for this study (70 [75.3%] male and 23 [24.7%] female). Furthermore, 18.3% of patients had chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), 21.5% had history of stroke, 7.5% had end-stage renal disease, 33.3% had diabetes, and 59.1% were current smokers. The mean time from PDT to decannulation was 39 days. Roughly one-fifth (20.4%) of patients were on dual antiplatelet therapy and 81.7% had anticoagulation restarted 8 hours post-tracheostomy. Eight complications were noted, including 5 instances of bleeding requiring packing and 1 case of mediastinitis. There were no significant predictors of decannulation prior to discharge. Only COPD was identified as a negative predictor of decannulation at any point in time (hazard ratio, 0.28; 95% confidence interval, 0.08-0.95; p=0.04). Conclusion: Percutaneous tracheostomy is a safe and viable alternative to surgical tracheostomy in cardiac surgery ICU patients. Patients who undergo PDT have a relatively short duration of tracheostomy and do not have major post-procedural complications.

  • 리티 판 감독의 2015년 작 다큐멘터리 <우리의 모국 프랑스 La France est notre patrie>는 시각적 구성에 있어 아카이브 이미지와 무성영화에서 차용한 인터타이틀을 사용하고, 청각적으로는 음악과 효과음을 주로 한 외재적 음향에 기대고 있는 파운드 풋티지 영화이다. 감독은 프랑스 식민지배하에 놓인 동남아시아와 아프리카 지역에서 19세기 말부터 20세기 초기 영화역사와도 궤적을 같이하는 시기에 촬영된 이미지를 발굴하여 재구성한다. 본 논문은 캄보디아 크메르 루주 대학살의 생존자인 감독의 기억과 역사 인식이 아카이브를 통해 영화와 맺는 실천적 관계를 고찰한다. 또한 벤야민의 역사적 몽타주와 변증법적 이미지 개념을 적용하고, 무엇보다 영화가 제시하는 중층적 시점에 주목하여 <우리의 모국 프랑스>가 구현하는 역사서술 방법을 분석한다. 이를 통해 이 영화의 구성적 특이성이 어떻게 자기반영성에 충실한 에세이 영화를 추동하며, 대항기억의 담론을 일으켜 메타역사로서 관객을 복합적 사유의 문턱으로 인도하는가 밝히고자 한다.

Collaborative Modeling of Medical Image Segmentation Based on Blockchain Network

  • Due to laws, regulations, privacy, etc., between 70-90 percent of providers do not share medical data, forming a "data island". It is essential to collaborate across multiple institutions without sharing patient data. Most existing methods adopt distributed learning and centralized federal architecture to solve this problem, but there are problems of resource heterogeneity and data heterogeneity in the practical application process. This paper proposes a collaborative deep learning modelling method based on the blockchain network. The training process uses encryption parameters to replace the original remote source data transmission to protect privacy. Hyperledger Fabric blockchain is adopted to realize that the parties are not restricted by the third-party authoritative verification end. To a certain extent, the distrust and single point of failure caused by the centralized system are avoided. The aggregation algorithm uses the FedProx algorithm to solve the problem of device heterogeneity and data heterogeneity. The experiments show that the maximum improvement of segmentation accuracy in the collaborative training mode proposed in this paper is 11.179% compared to local training. In the sequential training mode, the average accuracy improvement is greater than 7%. In the parallel training mode, the average accuracy improvement is greater than 8%. The experimental results show that the model proposed in this paper can solve the current problem of centralized modelling of multicenter data. In particular, it provides ideas to solve privacy protection and break "data silos", and protects all data.

대통령기록관 대통령선물 검색을 위한 패싯 분류체계 개발 (Development of a Facet Classification System for Presidential Gift Search in Presidential Archives)

  • 본 연구는 기존의 대통령선물에 대한 메타데이터의 보완을 위하여 패싯검색기능을 제안하고자 하였다. 이를 위하여 대통령기록관이 온라인 서비스 중인 3,574건의 대통령선물을 바탕으로 대통령선물의 선물명, 증정인, 증정국가와 증정일 및 수령 경위, 규격, 특징에서 추출된 기록물의 특성을 파악하였다. 이를 기초로 5개의 기본 패싯과 51개의 하위패싯으로 대통령선물 패싯 기반의 분류를 설계하였으며 구조화된 패싯은 각 패싯 요소를 정의하고 배열 순서 및 기호를 부여하였다. 이러한 분류체계는 검색시스템에 적용하여 패싯네비게이션을 구축하는 기반으로의 활용을 기대할 수 있을 것이다. 연구를 통해 대통령선물에 대한 새로운 분류체계 개발이 필요하다는 점을 확인하였으며 이를 위한 대안적 의미의 분류체계로서 패싯 분류를 적용할 것을 제안하였다.

수축 균열 발달 과정을 위한 단순 모델 (A Simple Model of Shrinkage Cracking Development for Kaolinite)

  • 본 연구에서는 카올린점토에 대한 실내실험을 통하여 수축으로 인한 균열발생을 조사하고 균열 단계를 모사할 수 있는 단순모델을 제안하였다. CPS 기법을 이용하여 디지털 카메라에 의해 얻은 균열 이미지를 분석하였다. 함수비의 감소에 따라 균열의 길이와 면적은 1차 균열단계, 2차 균열단계, 수축단계 균열의 3단계로 나타났다. 균열 면적의 1차 및 2차 균열 최종 단계에서의 정규화된 함수비는 시료 두께에 상관없이 각각 0.92와 0.70에서 발생하였다. 반면 균열 길이는 1차 균열 최종 단계에서의 함수비는 시료 두께와 상관없이 0.92에서 발생하였으나, 2차 균열 최종 단계에서의 함수비는 시료 두께가 0.5, 1.0, 2.0cm로 증가함에 따라 함수비는 0.79, 0.82, 0.85로 증가하였다. 수축 균열을 모사할 수 있는 3개의 직선으로 구성된 단순모델을 제안하였다.

  • 본 연구에서는 컴퓨터 단층촬영 장비의 크레이들에 대한 샌드위치 복합재 3차원 형상을 결정하였고, 유한요소해석을 통해 구조성능 기준을 만족하는 적층 패턴을 제안하였으며, 균일한 X선 투과 성능을 만족하는 생산공법을 제안하였다. 크레이들 설계는 다른 부품과의 공간, 고정 방법, 헤드레스트 부품과의 조립조건을 고려하였다. 정해진 위치에 135 kg 하중이 가해질 때, 크레이들 끝단부 처짐이 20 mm 이하인 기준을 만족하는 적층패턴을 결정하였다. 생산공법 측면에서 우선 카본 소재/폴리에스터 수지로 핸드레이업을 하였으나, 기포 및 과잉수지로 불균일한 X선 투과성능을 보였다. 이를 해결하기 위해 첫 번째 층은 동일소재를 인퓨전 공법으로 하고 나머지 층은 카본 소재/에폭시 수지의 프리프레그 적용으로 X선 투과성능을 개선하였다.

Remote digital monitoring during the retention phase of orthodontic treatment: A prospective feasibility study

  • Objective: To evaluate if a remote digital monitoring system added at the end of orthodontic treatment could positively influence the retention phase by reducing the occurrence of misfit of removable appliances, number of emergency appointments (EA), and orthodontic relapse. Methods: Twenty-seven patients who completed active orthodontic treatment were divided into the study and control groups. In addition to the standard chairside follow-up appointments at month 1 (T1), month 3 (T2), month 6 (T3), the study group patients were monitored using Dental Monitoring® with monthly intra-oral scans. Occurrence of misfit of removable retainers, number of EAs, and intercanine width change were recorded for both groups. Differences in EAs and retainer fit were assessed using the chi-square test. Intra-group and inter-group differences in the intercanine width were assessed with Friedman test and Mann-Whitney U test, respectively (α = 0.05). Results: The study group showed a significantly lower occurrence of misfit of removable retainers (p = 0.027) compared to the control group. No significant inter- and intra-group difference was found in the EAs and intercanine width change at each time-point. Conclusions: Integrating remote monitoring systems, such as Dental Monitoring®, to the retention phase of the orthodontic treatment may lower the occurrence of misfit of removable retainers. However, a small sample size and a short observation period limit the strength of this evidence. These preliminary results tentatively suggest that remote monitoring technologies may be beneficial, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic, when the regularity of in-office visits might be disrupted.

Laser Resurfacing after Facial Free Flap Reconstruction

  • Background and Objectives Skin and soft tissue defects can be treated according to a range of strategies, such as local flap, skin graft, biological dressing, or free flap. On the other hand, free tissue transfer usually leaves a distinct scar with an inconsistency of color or hypertrophy. This problem is highlighted if the defect is located on the face, which could have devastating effects on a patient's psychosocial health. Materials and Methods The authors used an erbium : yttrium-aluminum-garnet (Er:YAG) laser to resurface the free flap skin and match the color with the surrounding facial skin. This study evaluated the effectiveness of laser skin resurfacing on the harmonious color matching of transferred flap. Patients who had undergone laser resurfacing on facial flap skin between January 2014 and December 2018 were reviewed retrospectively. An ablative 2,940-nm fractional Er:YAG laser treatment was delivered to the entire flap skin at 21 J/cm2 with the treatment end-point of pinpoint bleeding. Several months later, the clinical photographs were analyzed. The L*a*b* color co-ordinates of both the flap and surrounding normal skin were measured using Adobe Photoshop. The L*a*b* color difference (ΔE) for the scar and normal surrounding skin were calculated using the following equation: ${\Delta}E=\sqrt{({\Delta}L)^2+({\Delta}a)^2+({\Delta}b)^2}$ Results All five patients were satisfied with the more natural appearance of the flaps. The ΔE values decreased significantly from the pre-treatment mean value of 19.64 to the post-treatment mean value of 11.39 (Wilcoxon signed-rank test, p = 0.043). Conclusion Ablative laser resurfacing can improve the aesthetic outcome of free tissue transfer on the face.
