  • Programming training in informatics education have the means that algorithm design and problem solving. However, Because learning and using programming tools that should be done first, elementary school students learning the programming tools that are interested in the process has been reduced. But programming with using an Educational Programming Language(EPL) can show results directly and coding with a drag & drop method that keeps the elementary students' interests for programming. Now that, the students are possible to enhance their creativity and reasoning skills. Therefore, through the result of this study show how to apply the EPL in the elementary information classes and comparing with before this study and after the study, we analyzed to applicate prosperity of EPL.

    • Elementary school students have a great deal of interest in Internet games which provide integrated multimedia and so they become to know well the terminology used in network such as game server, Internet service, transfer time, etc. In addition, they are used to understand the technological phenomena occurring in internet. They, however, have difficulty understanding concepts and principles regarding the phenomena mentioned above because the educational contents in elementary school computer textbooks consist of only ICT education and its applications, i.e., tool-based technology. In this paper, we apply educational learning on network concepts which are the basis on the internet to classroom instruction by using problem oriented models. We conclude that the educational contents in elementary school computer education should be transferred to the area with principles and concepts.

    • This study purposed to analyze problems in utilizing hardware and software invested for elementary and secondary school that were distributed through the education information project so far, and to make plans for substantial operation. In order to identify relevant problems and to draw up plans for substantial operation, this study analyzed relevant previous researches and investigated the current state of the utilization of educational information resources in school through question investigation. In addition, we visited elementary, secondary schools, and governmental departments of relevant personnel and had interviews with the people there. From this, we suggested the substance proposals of the educational information resources operation for elementary and secondary school. Therefore, the substance proposal to the information resource in education that was produced by this study would be useful to establish and execute relevant policy for elementary and secondary schools and governmental departments.

    • Instructional objectives clearly show what teachers should teach in the class and how they lead the class, focusing on a certain activity for their students in the class. Clear instructional objectives are a prerequisite for teachers to accomplish effectively their curriculum. The revised Bloom's taxonomy table of educational objectives has been introduced in 50 years since the publication of his original taxonomy table in 1956. Bloom's revised taxonomy table of educational objectives has two-dimensions, the "cognitive process" dimension and the "knowledge" dimension, and it classifies class objectives more elaborately and clearly. This study was designed to classify instructional objectives stated in elementary science guidebooks for teachers into Bloom's revised taxonomy table, and see how the objectives of elementary science classes were categorized by grade level and areas. In addition, this study examined how the objectives of elementary science classes by study area were classified into the new taxonomy table. This study classified 618 elementary science instructional objectives of third- to sixth-grade science guidebooks for teachers into Bloom's revised taxonomy table. The results showed that the objectives of elementary science classes emphasized disproportionately some of the knowledge and cognitive process dimensions. In the area of subjects while the percentages of factual knowledge were very high, those of meta-cognitive knowledge were low.

    • The aim of the study presented in this paper was to explore South Korean elementary teachers' knowledge regarding educational theory in mathematics. An independent t-test and ANOVA are applied to examine elementary teachers' knowledge regarding educational theory in mathematics. Findings of this study suggest that there is a negative correlation between the teachers' knowledge regarding educational theory in mathematics and their teaching experiences as well as the teacher certification level. However, there is a little affect of the teachers' gender and educational backgrounds on the teachers' knowledge regarding educational theory in mathematics. The results of this quantitative study may broaden our understanding of the South Korean elementary teachers' knowledge for teaching mathematics, which have a deep impact on their teaching practice.

    • The significant reason for studying computer science lies in the efficient resolution of various problems which can arise in actual life. Consequently, algorithm education is very important in the computer science and plays a great part in helping to enhance the creative ability to solve problems and to improve the programming ability. However, the current algorithm education at an computer science educational institute for the gifted has inadequate systematic quality and is only treated as a part of programming education. From this perspective, this paper carried out following studies in order to design the algorithm education for elementary computer science prodigies. First, the core educational contents was selected by extracting the common elements from existing books related to algorithm education, common study contents on algorithm lesson websites and the study area of ACM's computer algorithm. Second, using the development criteria and selected educational contents, the educational theme for the If weeks load was set. Additionally, the algorithm educational contents were designed for the elementary computer science prodigy based on such theme. Third, the activity site for the use of prodigy educational institute was developed with the background in the educational contents for the elementary computer science prodigy. Fourth, the Delphi analysis technique was used to verify the appropriateness of contents and activity site developed in this paper. It was carried out in 2 separate processes where the first process verified the design of educational contents, and the second process verified the appropriateness of developed activity site.

    • Marine aquariums are excellent venues for accomplishing the purpose of marine education, and school field trips conducted at non-formal settings continue to be an important part of K-12 education. The purpose of this study is to provide quantitative data regarding the extent and quality of marine aquarium field trips conducted by elementary school teachers in Seoul. A web survey designed to explore elementary school teachers' experiences and perspectives on aquarium field trips identified several concerns regarding Korean marine aquarium education. Discussions for both Korean aquaria's educational roles and Korean elementary schools' successful field trips to aquaria are presented with the goal of improving the quality of Korean marine aquarium education.
