A Taxonomy of Agent Technologies for Ubiquitous Computing Environments

  • The design, development and deployment of Mobile Agent (MA) systems for high-level inference and surveillance in wireless sensor networks and RFID systems have drawn increasing attention in the past decade. To answer how the state-of-the-art of MA in a wide range of ubiquitous and sensor environments is, this paper investigates the current progress of MA. It proposes a taxonomy, by which MA systems in ubiquitous computing environments are decomposed and discussed. Then, this paper provides insights into the strengths and weaknesses of existing efforts. Finally, it presents a series of solutions from the viewpoint of various roles of MA in ubiquitous environments and situations.

  • Recently, an iterative reconstruction-reprojection (IRR) algorithm has been suggested for application to incomplete data computed tomography (CT). In the IRR, the interpolation operation is performed in the image space during reconstruction-reprojection. The errors associated with the interpolation degrade the reconstructed image and may cause divergence unless a large number of rays is used. In this paper, we propose an improved IRR algorithm which eliminates the need for interpolation. The proposed algorithm adopts a new sampling scheme in which samples (projection data) is taken in phase with the samples of the Cartesian grid.

  • When a wide area blackout occurres, reenergizing transmission lines should be done at first. The KEPCO(Korea Electric Power Corporation) divides whole power system grid Into seven subsystem. This paper describes the investigation of facts, such as voltage rising and system stability, which occur in case that the blackstart plant of the Honam area will be displaced from Juam H/P to Seojingang H/P.

  • An investigation into power conditioners that interface with photovoltaic array and utilities has been completed. The rating for this investigation is residential system(3-5kW) that interface with a 220V single phase utility connection. As the result of this investigation, a 3kW high frequency PWM IGBT inverter feeding a high frequency isolation transformer with a sinusoidal current wave was selected. The output of the transformer rectified with a diode bridge rectifier, four IGBT, used as 60Hz switched, reverse the polarity of the rectified current on every other half cycle of the utility voltage. Even though the high frequency link system used more power semiconductors, a net size, weight, and parts cost saving result compared to the other systems due to elimination of 60Hz transformer.

  • In this paper, the propagation of corona streamer was simulated using finite element method(FEM) combined with Flux-Corrected Transport(FCT) algorithm. To obtain more effective grid distribution, the adaptive mesh generation scheme was also employed. The employed adaptive scheme can refine the mesh where needed. In addition, it is possible to coarsen the unnecessarily dense mesh. Two models were analyzed with proposed method. And the results are shown.

  • This paper is to analyze electromagnetic fields on a 154kV substation system and induced voltages on the substation fence when the network is operating in a normal condition or a fault condition in which one phase is shorted with the overhead ground wire. Also, changing the scalar potential and electromagnetic fields that are changed in accordance with changing resistivity and permeability of ground are studied. A finding of the study is that the scalar potential and electromagnetic fields are raised near the tower: The values of electric field on the corner of fence and at the edge of the ground grid are higher than other locations.

  • Recently plasmas have been used to reduce the undesirable gases $SO_2$, NO, and $NO_2$. Especially bidirectional pulsed voltages were used to increase the efficiency of flue-gas reactors. The particle-Mesh model using NGP (Nearest-grid-point) and FEM (Finite Element Method) calculate the detailed space-time variations of the electric fields for the streamer and it makes the characteristics of reactor more clearly. In this simulation NO is considered a dominant gas.

  • The Photovoltaic(PV) generation system is a promising source of energy for the future. Since the need for renewable energy has been increased, the research of PV generation system has also been progressed. The main subject of this paper is about making the more useful real-time monitoring program to get and save the data from photovoltaic generation system of 30kW grid-connected. Therefore, it uses LabView for this real-time monitoring program.

  • This paper proposes the optimal design method based on NDZ analysis to secure the islanding defection ability and to maintain the stability and power quality when the grid is connected. A PSiM-based model and analysis of the system is presented, specialty aimed at improving the effectiveness of phase shift anti-islanding method with frequency feedback, which causes the inverter current to be generated slightly lower or higher in frequency than the frequency of the terminal voltage. The proposed method can cause frequency jump with leading and lagging phase of output current in two line cycles. As a result, the proposed algorithm is more sensitive and reliable than the conventional phase shift method. Experimental results, on a 3 kW inverter connected to 220 V, 60 Hz utility, are discussed.

  • The Analysis on AVR-MVR conversion trouble for Excitation System AVR-MVR conversion is a very important function to transfer AVR to MVR when the grid has abrupt changes or the control system has some problems. Therefore through studying on AVR-MVR transfer scheme, and problems which might happen when transferring, we would like to enhance the stability of generator and control system.
