  • Let (M, $g$) be a compact oriented self-dual 4-dimensional Einstein manifold with positive sectional curvature. Then we show that, up to rescaling and isometry, (M, $g$) is $S^4$ or $\mathbb{C}\mathbb{P}_2$, with their cannonical metrics.

  • It has been conjectured that, on a compact orient able manifold M, a critical point of the total scalar curvature functional restricted the space of unit volume metrics of constant scalar curvature is Einstein. In this paper we show that if a manifold is a 3-dimensional warped product, then (M, g) cannot be a critical point unless it is isometric to the standard sphere.

  • On a compact n-dimensional manifold M, it has been conjectured that a critical point of the total scalar curvature, restricted to the space of metrics with constant scalar curvature of unit volume, is Einstein. In this paper, after derivng an interesting curvature identity, we show that the conjecture is true in dimension three and four when g is weakly Einstein. In higher dimensional case $n{\geq}5$, we also show that the conjecture is true under an additional Ricci curvature bound. Moreover, we prove that the manifold is isometric to a standard n-sphere when it is n-dimensional weakly Einstein and the kernel of the linearized scalar curvature operator is nontrivial.

  • Weyl structure can be viewed as generalizations of Riemannian metrics. We study Weyl structures which are critical points of the squared L$^2$ norm functional of the full curvature tensor, defined on the space of Weyl structures on a compact 4-manifold. We find some relationship between these critical Weyl structures and the critical Riemannian metrics. Then in a search for homogeneous critical structures we study left-invariant metrics on some solv-manifolds and prove that they are not critical.

  • The class of isotropic almost complex structures, J𝛿,𝜎, define a class of Riemannian metrics, g𝛿,𝜎, on the tangent bundle of a Riemannian manifold which are a generalization of the Sasaki metric. This paper characterizes the metrics g𝛿,0 using the geometry of tangent bundle. As a by-product, some integrability results will be reported for J𝛿,𝜎.

  • In this paper, we study general (${\alpha}$, ${\beta}$) Finsler metrics and prove that every general (${\alpha}$, ${\beta}$)-metric is semi C-reducible but not C2-like. As a consequence of this result we prove that every general (${\alpha}$, ${\beta}$)-metric satisfying the Ricci flow equation is Einstein.

  • In this paper we describe the Einstein-Kahler metric for the Cartan-Hartogs of the first type which is the special case of the Hua domains. Firstly, we reduce the Monge-Ampere equation for the metric to an ordinary differential equation in the auxiliary function X = X(z, w) = $\midw\mid^2[det(I-ZZ^{T}]^{\frac{1}{K}}$ (see below). This differential equation can be solved to give an implicit function in Χ. Secondly, we get the estimate of the holomorphic section curvature under the complete Einstein-K$\ddot{a}$hler metric on this domain.

  • We show that the Riemannian geometry of a tangent sphere bundle of a Riemannian manifold (M, g) of constant radius $\gamma$ reduces essentially to the one of unit tangent sphere bundle of a Riemannian manifold equipped with the respective induced Sasaki metrics. Further, we provide some applications of this theorem on the $\eta$-Einstein tangent sphere bundles and certain related topics to the tangent sphere bundles.

  • It has been conjectured that, on a compact 3-dimensional orientable manifold, a critical point of the total scalar curvature restricted to the space of constant scalar curvature metrics of unit volume is Einstein. In this paper we prove this conjecture under a condition that ker $s^{\prime}^*_g{\neq}0$, which generalizes the previous partial results.
