  • Purpose: The purpose of the study was to investigate the effects of ego-resiliency and self-efficacy on paramedic students in J province. Methods: A self-reported questionnaire was completed by 465 paramedic students from the J area recruited from September 25 to October 10, 2017. The questionnaire included general characteristics, ego-resiliency, self-efficacy, and satisfaction with their choice of the major subject. Data were analyzed using t-test, ANOVA, Pearson's correlations, and a multiple regression analysis. Results: As ego-resiliency and self-efficacy increased, satisfaction with their majoring subject also increased. Senior students had higher satisfaction than freshmen in relation to general characteristics. Students having 'interest in their major' owing to personal motivation of choice of major, had higher satisfaction than those having 'suggestion from other'. It is necessary to find a way to increase satisfaction of major and to inspire ego-resiliency and self-efficacy. Conclusion: Future studies should investigate ways to increase major satisfaction toward paramedics and to enhance their ego-resiliency and self-efficacy.

  • This study investigates the relationships among emotional support from social network, ego-resiliency, and role conflict of teachers in kindergartens and day care centers. The subjects were 192 teachers who worked in kindergartens or child care centers in Daegu and Gyeongbuk Province. Questionnaires, which require self-report by teachers, were used to investigate the emotional support from social network, ego-resiliency, and role conflict. The collected data were analyzed by Pearson's correlation, single and multiple regressions, using SPSS Win 15.0. The results are as follows. (1) Emotional support from social network and ego-resiliency was negatively associated with the role conflict of teachers in kindergartens and day care centers. (2) Emotional support from social network was positively associated with ego-resiliency. (3) Emotional support from social network partly exerted indirect effects on role conflict mediated by ego-resiliency. But direct effect of emotional support from social network on role conflict was more than the indirect effect. These results indicate that a higher level of emotional support from social network is more likely to lower role conflict of teachers.

  • The purpose of this study was to analyze the financial portfolios of single-person households. For the analysis, The purpose of this study is to verify the mediation effect of stress-coping strategies in the relationship between ego-resiliency and burn-out among childcare center teachers. The subjects were 255 childcare center teachers in Gyeongbuk Province. The measurement tools used for this study include ego-resiliency, burn-out, and stresscoping strategy questionnaires. The collected data points were analyzed via Structural Equation Modeling(SEM), Bootstrapping, Pearson Correlation, using SPSS 21.0 and AMOS 20.0 The results of the study analyzing the Structural Equation Model are as follows. First, teachers' ego-resiliency had a negative influence on burn-out. Second, teachers' problem-focused coping strategies had a negative influence on burn-out, while emotionfocused coping strategies had a positive influence on burn-out. Third, teachers' ego-resiliency had a positive influence on both problem-focused and emotion-focused coping strategies. Fourth, teachers' ego-resiliency had an indirect effect on burn-out by improving both problem-focused and emotion-focused coping strategies. This study suggests that education on the use of problem-focused coping strategies in stressful situations is necessary to successfully manage childcare teachers' burn-out in childcare settings in which mandatory evaluation systems are newly implemented.

Results: Stigma was positively correlated with depression and self-esteem and ego-resiliency were negatively correlated with depression respectively. Also, self-esteem and ego-resiliency had a partial mediating effect on the relationship between social stigma and depression. Conclusion: The findings indicate that self-esteem and ego-resiliency are important factors related to depression in out-of-school adolescents. It is also expected that self-esteem and ego-resiliency can further decrease depression in out-of-school adolescents.

  • In this study, we aimed to identify the relationship between sexual attitude, ego-resiliency, and sexual autonomy in nursing students. The subjects were 226 nursing students who recruited from one college. Data were analyzed using SPSS 20.0 program. The sexual attitude was positively correlated with ego-resiliency (r=.169, p=.011). Also, ego-resiliency and sexual autonomy was positively correlated (r=.148, p=.026). Factors significantly influencing sexual autonomy in nursing students were ego-resiliency (${\beta}=.138$, p=.048), sexual characteristic of participant (${\beta}=-.149$, p=.038), and dating experience (${\beta}=.170$, p=.014). This study showed that the nursing intervention for boosting ego-resiliency and sexual autonomy through healthy and sound dating experience should be required in nursing students.

  • This study examined the effect of maternal positive parenting attitudes on school adjustment among multi-cultural adolescents in Korea and investigated if multi-cultural adolescents' ego-resiliency mediates the relationship between maternal positive parenting attitudes and school adjustment. We used panel data from the fifth wave (2015) of the Multicultural Adolescents Panel Study (MAPS) collected by the National Youth Policy Institute. Participants were 1,297 multi-cultural adolescents (639 boys, 658 girls) who are second-year middle school students and have foreign mothers. SPSS 25.0 performed descriptive statistical analysis and correlation analysis. The structural equation model (SEM) was estimated with Mplus 5.12. The results of this study were as follows. First, a higher level of maternal positive parenting attitudes were related to higher level of ego-resiliency and school adjustment for multi-cultural adolescents. Second, maternal positive parenting attitudes had an indirect effect on school adjustment for multi-cultural adolescents via ego-resiliency. The results of this study indicate that maternal positive parenting behaviors would help improve the school adjustment of multi-cultural adolescents by increasing the level of ego-resiliency. In addition, the results of this study suggest that improving ego-resiliency for multi-cultural adolescents can be an effective method to help in school adjustment, as well as education for maternal parenting attitude.

  • Objective: The purpose of this study was to test the mediating effects of ego-resilience on relationship between perceived parenting attitudes and regulatory focus among college students. Methods: In this study, 256 college students were surveyed. The collected data were put through correlation analysis using PASW Statistics 18.0. In addition, 3-stage multiple regression analyses and the Sobel test were used to test any mediating effects. Results: The findings show that the diversity of concerns and interests, emotion control, and positive future orientation, the subfactors of ego-resiliency, all have partial mediating effects on the relationship between father's care and promotion focus. Only positive future orientation had partial mediating effects on the relationship between mother's care and promotion focus. Conclusion: Father's care turned out to be an independent variable to explain better the mediating effects of ego-resiliency on relations between parenting attitudes and regulatory focus, which implies the influence and importance of father's care on college students.
