The objective of this study was to find the way to prolong the storage time of sawdust-based oyster mushroom (Pleurotus osteratus) spent substrate (OMSS) by fermenting with potential probiotic microorganisms to recycle the otherwise waste of mushroom farms. To this purpose, lactic acid bacteria (LAB) were screened to select the best lactic acid-producing strains. Three strains of LAB (Lactobacillus plantarum Lp1', Pediococcus acidilacticii Pa193, L. plantarum Lp2M) were selected and in mixture they lowered the pH of the fermented OMSS to 3.81. fOMSS (fermented sawdust-based oyster mushroom spent substrate) could be stored at room temperature for at least 17 days without any deterioration of feed quality based on the pH, smell, and color. In dry matter disappearance rate in situ, commercial TMR (total mixed ration), OMSS and OMMM (oyster mushroom mycelium mass) showed no significant differences between the samples after 6, 12 and 24 h incubation except for 48 h. Two separate field studies were performed to test the effects of fOMSS supplement on the growth performance of postweaning Holstein calves. Field trials included groups of animals feeding calf starter supplemented with: Control (no supplement), AB (colistin 0.08% and oxyneo 110/110 0.1%), fOMSS (10% fOMSS) and fConc (10% fermented concentrate) and DFM (direct-fed microbials, average $10^9$ cfu for each of three LAB/d/head). Growth performance (average daily gain and feed efficiency) of the fOMSS supplement group was higher than that of AB followed by fConc and DFM even though there was no statistically significant difference. The Control group was lower than any other group. Various hematological values including IgG, IgA, RBC (red blood cell), hemoglobin, and hematocrit were measured every 10 days to check any unusual abnormality for all groups in trial I and II, and they were within a normal and safe range. Our results suggest that sawdust-based OMSS could be recycled after fermentation with three probiotic LAB strains as a feed supplement for post-weaning calves, and fOMSS has the beneficial effects of an alternative to antibiotics for a growth enhancer in dairy calves.
Purpose Since human brains catch images faster than texts or numbers, infographics has been widely used in business in the form of "information dashboard" to enhance the efficiency of decision-making. Groupware, however, has neglected the adoption and use of infographics, in particular, in the idea generation process. Given that an overall performance of groupware-based idea generation is no better than that of the (paper-and-pencil-based) Nominal Group Technique, Jung et al. (2010) adopted the notion of infographics in the form of performance feedback to solve the productivity paradox. With the consistent results, which demonstrate beneficial effects of infographics on performance enhancement, an interesting observation that groups with the bar chart treatment performed better than groups with the dot chart treatment was made. The main purpose of this study was to find if there were a performance consistency between the outcomes from the previous study and the outcomes from the current study. Design/methodology/approach In experiment 1, we employed the same system used in the previous study (i.e., Jung et al., 2010). As individuals' contributions accumulated, the mechanism visually displayed individuals' performances two-dimensionally in the form of a bar chart or a dot chart. Then, we compared the performance outcomes from this study to the outcomes from previous study (i.e., Jung et al., 2010). In experiment 2, we modified the performance graph to test the effect of "playfulness" on performance by converting dots to car images. Then, we compared the performance outcome from experiment 2 to the outcomes from experiment 1. Findings Just like our interesting (and unexpected) finding in Jung et al.'s study (2010), the outcome confirmed a consistent superior performance of a bar chart. This implies that a bar chart is a better choice when stimulating performance with a visual aid in the context of groupware-based idea generation. Although a bar chart was criticized in a way that errors of length-area judgments are 40 ~ 250% greater than those of positional judgments along a common scale, such illusion turned out to be facilitating upward performance comparison better. Regarding Experiment 2, the outcome showed that the revised-dot graph is as good as the bar graph in terms of quantity and quality score of ideas. We attribute the performance enhancement of the resized-dot to the interaction between the motivational characteristic and the situational characteristic of playfulness because individuals in the revised-dot graph treatment performed better than individuals in the dot graph treatment. Given the order of performance (Bar >= Revised Dot > Dot) that the revised-dot treatment performed the same as (or lower than) the bar treatment, an additional research is warranted to reach to a consistent outcome.
This study analyzed key success factors of Korean car-sharing enterprises, Socar and Greencar, and the responsive strategies of Korean car-manufacturing company, Hyundai Motor Group, in the face of emerging sharing economy under the specific economic and regulatory system in Korea. The outcomes of the analysis are as follows. 'Timely market entry' in early startup phase and 'use of external resources' in early growth phase were key success factors common to both Socar and Greencar. However, the differences in the eventual business directions of the two companies also resulted in different key success factors in the expansion phase of their business. For Socar which focused on maintaining its independence and the external growth of B2C business, customer relation marketing and sufficient capital raising were key success factors. For Greencar which became a part of a business group and focused on improving the efficiency of business operations, timely market entry (B2B market) was key success factor. The use of external resources and cooperation with large corporations emerged as key success factors common to both companies in the rapid growth phase. The responsive strategies of the Hyundai Motor Group were collaboration, investment and direct management of DeliveryCar. The short-term goal of the responsive strategy was the operation of test-bed in collaboration with car-sharing company while the mid/long term goal was planning new mobility services by utilizing collected data. Securing opportunities for early market dominance for autonomous car industry was also found to be an important goal.
Objective : This study was designed to validate the cell trafficking efficiency of the in vivo bioluminescence image (BLI) study in the setting of transplantation of the luciferase expressing bone marrow-derived mesenchymal stem cells (BMSC), which were delivered at each different time after transient middle cerebral artery occlusion (MCAO) in a mouse model. Methods : Transplanting donor BMSC were prepared by primary cell culture from transgenic mouse expressing luciferase (LUC). Transient focal infarcts were induced in 4-6-week-old male nude mice. The experiment mice were divided into five groups by the time of MSC transplantation : 1) sham-operation group, 2) 2-h group, 3) 1-day group, 4) 3-day group, and 5) 1-week group. BLI for detection of spatial distribution of transplanted MSC was performed by detecting emitted photons. Migration of the transplanted cells to the infarcted area was confirmed by histological examinations. Differences between groups were evaluated by paired t-test. Results : A focal spot of bioluminescence was observed at the injection site on the next day after transplantation by Signal intensity of bioluminescence. After 4 weeks, the mean signal intensities of 2-h, 1-day, 3-day, and 1-week group were $2.6{\times}10^7{\pm}7.4{\times}10^6$. $6.1{\times}10^6{\pm}1.2{\times}10^6$, $1.7{\times}10^6{\pm}4.4{\times}10^5$, and $8.9{\times}10^6{\pm}9.5{\times}10^5$, respectively. The 2-h group showed significantly higher signal intensity (p<0.01). The engrafted BMSC showed around the infarct border zones on immunohistochemical examination. The counts of LUC-positive cells revealed the highest number in the 2-h group, in agreement with the results of BLI experiments (p<0.01). Conclusion : In this study, the results suggested that the transplanted BMSC migrated to the infarct border zone in BLI study and the higher signal intensity of LUC-positive cells seen in 2 hrs after MSC transplantation in MCAO mouse model. In addition, noninvasive imaging in real time is an ideal method for tracking stem cell transplantation. This method can be widely applied to various research fields of cell transplantation therapy.

The objective of this study was to examine the possibility of utilizing the immersion stereoscopic image with a curved-screen-display as a tool for evaluating the landscape. The curved-screen-display ensures the continuity of the image and can be simultaneously evaluated by many people. Fifty-meter-wide Gangnamdaero Boulevard in Seoul was selected for this study, and the simulation was done using computer graphics. With the computer simulation, a questionnaire on landscape preferences was conducted according to different visual environments (immersion, non-immersion) and different projection types(stereoscopic or plane image). In the results of this study, the landscape preference was largely dependent on the immersion environment. Using the immersion-type simulation, the observer can easily evaluate the preference with higher judgment power. The stereoscope or plane projection type does not have any significant result in terms of its judgment power. This result implies that it is very important to strengthen the sense of immersion by expanding the screen into an angled view in which the observer can become immersed while making and projecting the simulation to evaluate the landscape. As a landscape evaluation tool for examining the efficiency and usefulness of immersion simulation, this study has limitations in that it controls many factors in street landscape that adversely affect judgment. Accordingly, a detailed comparison and verification of the stereoscopic image in various environments, including street width and building height ratio, must be conducted.

The turbine is an important component and has a significant impact on the thermodynamic efficiency of the organic Rankine cycle. A precise preliminary design is essential to developing efficient turbines. In addition, performance analysis and structural analysis are needed to evaluate the performance and structural safety. However, there are only a few exclusive studies on the development process of the radial inflow turbines for the organic Rankine cycle (ORC). In this study, a preliminary design of the ORC radial inflow turbine was performed. Subsequently, the performance and structural analysis were also carried out. The RTDM, which was developed as an in-house code, was used in the preliminary design process. The results of the performance analysis were found to be in good agreement with target performances. Structural analysis of the designed turbine was also carried out in order to determine whether the material selection for this study is suitable for the flow conditions of the designed turbine, and it was found that the selected aluminum alloy is suitable for the designed turbine. However, the reliability of the preliminary design algorithms and numerical methods should be strictly verified by an actual experimental test.
We have taken surveys about total 72 departments of radiation oncology which is performing the treatment with linear accelerator and brachytherapy unit in Korea. The survey was included the research about the linear accelerator, brachytherapy, Also, we surveyed the various performance (QA period, manpower, time) of quality control for understanding of efficiency. The survey results show that the QA test of daily and weekly are almost same comparing to USA and Europe but the QA performance of monthly and yearly in Korea are 15.5 which is less than USA and Europe recommended QA item number of 17 to 21. The manpower and QA time in Korea also lower than 50% of USA and Europe recommended because the manpower and QA time limitation in Korea. It will be expected that the manual of quality management in each clinic could be appropriately established when combining the present results with previously published AAPM TG-40 and other protocols.

From now on, the aged apartment or house is expected to increase rapidly. So, we have to build a process of remodeling and develop the new technique. Demolition work is needed for systematic plan and management. However, contractors of the remodeling project established a rough plan and did not consider recycling wastes, safety of workers and structural stability of building. Therefore, we need a step to develop a assessment system, verify and make specified. This paper evaluated how much improve on construction speed, work efficiency, intensity of work and influence with another process comparing the existing method with the new demolition method. The qualitative and quantitative assessment system are developed with these output. The case study was carried out experimental group and control group, based on developed assessment system, which have the same condition. The existing method was made up of 3 steps- 1)Demolish windows, doors and iron goods, 2)Demolish indoor and outdoor walls, 3)Drop the waste. The new demolition method was made up of 5 steps- 1)Demolish windows, doors and iron goods, 2)Demolish the ceiling and wall's finishing materials, 3)Demolish the floor's finishing materials, 4)Demolish indoor and outdoor walls, 5)Drop the waste. Work time, idle time, the character of a work unit are analyzed by mock-up test. This study's output is expected to establish a systematic process of new demolition method and based on the maximizing waste recycling work in our construction industry.

Developed countries have already applied variable Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) technologies and have solved many transportation problems. Researchers also expect that ITS solutions can solve the transportation problems of Korean roads, when they are applied to Korean roads. However, since the existing ITS solutions applied in other countries are used for Korean roads without calibration, they will incur unexpected problems and high cost maintenance costs. In this paper, to solve the above problem, we propose the Korean Highway Traffic Analysis tool (KHTA). It not only analyzes all highway information in Korea, but also simulates the ITS algorithm implemented by traffic developers for the Korean highway environment. To test the stability, applicability and efficiency of the KHTA, we developed and analyzed the result of the ramp metering algorithm. The results show that the total travel time was reduced by 5 minutes compared to that without ramp metering, and traffic congestion was decreased. Thus, we confirmed that the KHTA can simulate ITS systems and can analyze the traffic environment in Korean highway. We expect that this tool would be very helpful to develop and analyze ITS systems in Korea.
In Web registration pages and online polling applications, CAPTCHA(Completely Automated Public Turing Test To Tell Computers and Human Apart) is used for distinguishing human users from automated programs. Text-based CAPTCHAs have been widely used in many popular Web sites in which distorted text is used. However, because the advanced optical character recognition techniques can recognize the distorted texts, the reliability becomes low. Image-based CAPTCHAs have been proposed to improve the reliability of the text-based CAPTCHAs. However, these systems also are known as having some drawbacks. First, some image-based CAPTCHA systems with small number of image files in their image dictionary is not so reliable since attacker can recognize images by repeated executions of machine learning programs. Second, users may feel uncomfortable since they have to try CAPTCHA tests repeatedly when they fail to input a correct keyword. Third, some image-base CAPTCHAs require high communication cost since they should send several image files for one CAPTCHA. To solve these problems of image-based CAPTCHA, this paper proposes a new CAPTCHA based on both image and text. In this system, an image and keywords are integrated into one CAPTCHA image to give user a hint for the answer keyword. The proposed CAPTCHA can help users to input easily the answer keyword with the hint in the fused image. Also, the proposed system can reduce the communication costs since it uses only a fused image file for one CAPTCHA. To improve the reliability of the image-text fusion CAPTCHA, we also propose a dynamic building method of large image dictionary from gathering huge amount of images from theinternet with filtering phase for preserving the correctness of CAPTCHA images. In this paper, we proved that the proposed image-text fusion CAPTCHA provides users more convenience and high reliability than the image-based CAPTCHA through experiments.
