The aim of the study was to develop the scale for measuring prospective teacher's belief on workplace spirituality. The researchers revised the 'Workplace Spirituality Scale for Early Childhood Teacher (Lim, 2014)' into the draft of 'Workplace Spirituality Belief for Prospective Early Childhood Teacher (WSBS_PECT)' and then validated the draft of WSBS_PECT statistically. The data were collected from 664 prospective teachers participating 5 early childhood teacher programs. EFA, CFA, Correlations and some statistical methods were carried out for testing validity and reliability of the scale. As a result, the WSBS_PECT with 21 items of 4 factors - i.e. 'awareness of meaning of life', 'belief on calling for ECE teacher job', 'belief on relationships in community', and 'belief on membership in community'- was developed and identified as a available measurement for prospective childhood teachers.
This pilot study examined programs for early childhood education and care in three Chinese cities. The samples for this study were one university-based kindergarten, one private kindergarten (rural area), and one public kindergarten (urban area). Six types of instruments were used to assess early childhood education and care services regarding quality matters. Most questions asked were open-ended; consequently, the interview answers by kindergarten directors or teachers (as well as observations made by the researcher) formed the basis for collecting the data. Quality components for each program were determined by a comparison method. The comparison allowed the researcher to understand the range of quality education and care available as well as the variability of existing kindergarten programs in China. The findings of the investigation revealed important information on; (a) demographic information (fees, class hours, total weeks of class, vacation, number of children and staff, class size, and teacher-child ratio) (b) teacher characteristics, (c) health practices, (d) safety practices, (e) work environment, (f) physical settings, (g) play materials, (h) parent involvement, (i) nutrition, (j) daily schedule. Implications within the Chinese context for quality practices and issues to further develop and strengthen early childhood education and care systems are discussed.
In this study, data were collected from currently employed early childhood teachers in order to explore the factors affecting the teacher efficacy of early childhood teachers and 202 data were analyzed. Frequency analysis, correlation analysis, and multiple regression analysis were performed on the subjects' general characteristics, empathy, resilience, and teacher efficacy. As a result of the study, factors influencing early childhood teachers' teacher efficacy were identified as educational experience, job achievement, empathy, and resilience, and the explanatory power of the variable was 57.2% (F=45.848, p<.001). In conclusion, the higher the resilience (β=.480), job achievement (β=.286), teaching experience (β=.197), and empathy (β=.141) of early childhood teachers the higher the teacher efficacy was. Therefore, the development and education of a curriculum that combines regular and non-regular education programs that can improve resilience, job achievement, and empathy from the period as pre-service teachers are required to improve teacher efficacy of early childhood teachers.
Objective: The objective of this study is to classify the personality types of early childhood teachers and examine the variations in teacher self-efficacy and play support based on these personality types. Methods: The subjects of this study consisted of 302 early childhood teachers responsible for children aged 3 to 5 years old. The collected data were analyzed using cluster analysis and analysis of covariance. Results: Early childhood teachers were categorized into four types: the "sensitive group" (29%), the "conservative group" (10%), the "passive group" (28%), and the "active group" (34%). Significant differences in mean scores were observed for teacher self-efficacy and play support across these personality types. Notably, the active group demonstrated the highest levels of both teacher self-efficacy and play support. Consequently, the active group emerged as the most effective and functional personality type among early childhood teachers. Conclusion/Implications: This study emphasized the significance of early childhood teachers' personality types in their teaching practices, underscoring the importance of developing in-service and pre-service teacher education programs that take into account these personality types.
Present situation and problems of environmental education in teacher education of 1079 kindergartens located in Seoul were investigated. However, only 65% of kindergarten teachers had experiences of providing environmental education for their children. They complained that they had a poor knowledge about environmental problems and environmental education. They reported that kindergarten had no systematic programs and useful materials for environmental education. Firstly, the emphasis of environmental education in teacher education and on-the-job training programs for kindergarten teachers was discussed. And the development of environmental education programs and educational materials for young children on the basic of national policy was proposed.
This qualitative study explored the causes of student teacher stress during an early childhood teaching practicum and investigated the ways in which student teachers cope with this stress. Four student teachers in the same practicum placement were individually interviewed. The findings revealed that stress arose over a variety of concerns including both lack of professional knowledge related to the teaching practice and the challenges involved in establishing a positive relationship with their cooperating teacher, the parents and staff. The stress experienced by the student teacher was accompanied by physical symptoms such as exhaustion, fatigue, and the onset of vulnerability to colds. However, the students were found to be generally unsuccessful in managing their stress effectively. The results suggest that attempts to improve the practicum environment should be accompanied by academic interests and practical issues related to these stresses and that there is a clear need for programs designed to assist student teachers develop stress management skills.
The purpose of this research was to provide recommendations for eco-centered early childhood education as a new paradigm in Korean society. Questionnaires were collected from directors, teachers, and parents of private & public kindergartens, as well as child care centers, in Bucheon city. The data were analyzed based on the frequencies, $X^2$ test, F test, and Scheffe test. The results were as follows. (a) Most directors, teachers, and parents positively agreed with the eco-centered early childhood education and recognized its benefits. (b) In order for the eco-centered early childhood education to be successful, development of various programs, systematic study, ongoing teacher training, and parents' education were required. (c) In order for the eco-centered early childhood education to develop more culturally appropriate program, close connection with local community, reorganization of the early childhood education curriculum, and government support were needed. The purpose of the study was to examine early childhood teachers' content knowledge on green growth education. The subjects, 45 early childhood teachers, were asked to draw concept maps about early childhood green growth education. Their concept maps were analyzed in terms of superordinate and subordinate concepts by contents and frequencies. The results showed that early childhood teachers used 182 superordinate and 1,292 subordinate concepts in the concept map of green growth education for young children. Although early childhood teachers had a wealth of content knowledge on green growth education as proposed by the Ministry of Education, their knowledge was disproportionate to some areas and sub-areas of green growth education. These results implied the needs of developing teacher education programs for early childhood green growth education.

In addition, in order to assess the relationship among empathetic ability, interpersonal competence and teacher efficacy of pre-service early childhood teachers, Pearson's correlation analysis was conducted. Lastly, for the examination of the effects and relative explanation of empathetic ability, interpersonal competence and teacher efficacy of pre-service early childhood teachers, multiple regression analysis was conducted. The results of this study were as follows: first, pre-service early childhood teachers were shown to have higher empathetic ability, interpersonal relationships and teacher efficacy rates than average. Second, there was a positive correlation among empathetic ability, interpersonal competence and teacher efficacy of pre-service early childhood teachers. The results of the study were as follows: First, education commitment of preservice early childhood teachers was positively correlated with teachers' efficacy, emotional intelligence, and education practicum experiences. Second, education commitment increased when the emotional intelligence increased before the education practicum experience, and education commitment increased when the teacher's efficacy increased after education practicum experience.
