Web-PBL환경에서 커뮤니케이션 강화가 학습성과에 미치는 영향 (The Impacts of Communication Reinforcement on Performance of Learning in Web-PBL)

  • The objective of this study is to identify the impacts of communication reinforcement on performance of learning in Web-PBL. Communication reinforcement is defined as the combination of information sharing and co-construction. As factors facilitating communication reinforcement, we propose learner's characteristics, task characteristics, and group characteristics. Learner's characteristics are collaboration-orientation, openness, holistic approach, and online community-orientation which reflects e-learning environment. Collaboration-oriented tasks as group projects were developed and given to groups with 5-6 members. The group characteristics are categorized into 'horizontal' and 'vertical', according to the patterns of communication between a group leader and members. To verify empirically the proposed research model, an experimental design was performed to learners who took on-line and off-line courses with group projects. We found important results as follows; First, field dependence has positive impacts on information sharing, and online community-orientation has positive impacts on co-construction. These results correspond with prior studies on relationship between field dependence and collaborative learning. Second, collaboration-oriented task directly impacts on information sharing, and indirectly affects co-construction, This result implicates that information sharing is pre-requisite of co-construction. Third, 'horizontal' was identified as a factor giving positive effects on information sharing and co-construction. This result implies that horizontal communication is very important to facilitate communication reinforcement.

  • Automatic document classification may differ significantly according to the characteristics of documents that are subject to classification, as well as classifier's performance. This research identifies e-mail document's characteristics to apply a three-step preprocessing algorithm that can minimize e-mail document's atypical characteristics. In the first 5go, uncertain based sampling algorithm that used Mean Absolute Deviation(MAD), is used to address the question of selection learning document for the rule generation at the time of classification. In the subsequent stage, Weighted vlaue assigning method by attribute is applied to increase the discriminating capability of the terms that appear on the title on the e-mail document characteristic level. in the third and last stage, accuracy level during classification by each category is increased by using Naive Bayesian Presumptive Algorithm's Dynamic Threshold. And, we implemented an E-Mail Recommendtion System using a three-step preprocessing algorithm the enable users for direct and optimal classification with the recommendation of the applicable category when a mail arrives.

공과대학생의 인지적.정의적 학습양식 특성 분석 (Analysis on the Characteristics of Cognitive & Affective Learning Style of Engineering University Students)

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze the traits on the cognitive and affective learning style of university students. CALSIU(The Cognitive & Affective Learning Style Inventory for University School Students) by Kim, E. J. was modified for applying to university students and performed with 399 university students from three universities in Daejeon and Chungnam. Statistical analysis done in this study were ANOVA and Scheffe's test. Findings of the study are as follows : First, the students with high academic achievements have intuitive perception type, whole processing type, and deep storage & recall type. Secondly, the students with low academic achievement have strong non-academic learning type. Third, interaction attitude of affective learning styles is the important element to determine their academic achievement. The students with independent type get high academic achievements. Therefore, instructor should consider the learning styles of students, and it should be used to improve their teaching & learning strategy for better academic achievements of university students.

다중 플렛폼 환경을 고려한 효율적인 이러닝 교육 콘텐츠 설계 및 구현에 관한 연구 (Design and Implementation of Effective E-Learning Education Contents Considering Multi-Platform Environment)

  • 본 연구의 목적은 이러닝 콘텐츠를 PC 기반 및 모바일 기반의 두가지 플랫폼에서 효율적으로 제작할 수 있는 방법론을 제시하는 것이다. 현재 기존 PC 기반의 이러닝 콘텐츠 제작에 많이 사용되는 플래시 기술이 iOS 등의 일부 모바일 플랫폼에서는 플래시가 지원되지 않는 호환성 문제가 발생하고 있으며, 플래시가 지원되는 모바일 플랫폼의 경우도 PC용 콘텐츠를 그대로 이용할 경우 작은 화면과 입력 인터페이스의 차이로 학습에 불편이 뒤따르는 현상이 발생하고 있다. 이러한 상황을 고려하여 본 연구에서는 HTML5 등의 표준 기술을 기반으로 두 가지 플랫폼에서 모두 서비스 가능한 콘텐츠 개발 방법론을 제시하고 있다. 결론적으로 본 연구에서 제안하는 방법론은 학습 콘텐츠 내용과 뷰를 분리하고, 구축된 콘텐츠 데이터베이스를 기반으로 다양한 형태의 뷰를 이용한 콘텐츠 구현이 가능하도록 지원하여 콘텐츠 재사용 및 다중 플랫폼 지원 부문에서 매우 효율적인 특성을 나타내도록 한다.

딥 러닝 기반의 영상처리 기법을 이용한 겹침 돼지 분리 (Separation of Occluding Pigs using Deep Learning-based Image Processing Techniques)

  • The crowded environment of a domestic pig farm is highly vulnerable to the spread of infectious diseases such as foot-and-mouth disease, and studies have been conducted to automatically analyze behavior of pigs in a crowded pig farm through a video surveillance system using a camera. Although it is required to correctly separate occluding pigs for tracking each individual pigs, extracting the boundaries of the occluding pigs fast and accurately is a challenging issue due to the complicated occlusion patterns such as X shape and T shape. In this study, we propose a fast and accurate method to separate occluding pigs not only by exploiting the characteristics (i.e., one of the fast deep learning-based object detectors) of You Only Look Once, YOLO, but also by overcoming the limitation (i.e., the bounding box-based object detector) of YOLO with the test-time data augmentation of rotation. Experimental results with two-pigs occlusion patterns show that the proposed method can provide better accuracy and processing speed than one of the state-of-the-art widely used deep learning-based segmentation techniques such as Mask R-CNN (i.e., the performance improvement over Mask R-CNN was about 11 times, in terms of the accuracy/processing speed performance metrics).

User-centered Design of m-Learning System: Moodle On The Go

  • In order to truly integrate e-Learning system into regular curriculum at a university, mobile access to Learning Management Systems has to be enabled. Mobile devices have the potential to be integrated into the classroom, because they contain unique characteristics such as portability, social interactivity, context sensitivity, connectivity and individuality. Adoption of Learning Management Systems by students is still on the low rate, mostly because of poor usability of existing e-Learning systems. Our initial research has confirmed this hypothesis. Usability issue is rising to the higher level on the mobile platform, because of the mobile devices' limited screen size, input interfaces and bandwidth, and also because of the context of use. Our second hypothesis was that it is wrong to consider a mobile device as a surrogate for desktop or laptop personal computer (PC). By just adopting the existing Learning Management System on mobile devices with adaptive technologies such as Google proxy, we do not acquire the satisfactory results. Usability can prove to be even lower compared to desktop application. One possible solution to the problem could be development of rich client applications for today's mobile devices that would raise the usability to a higher level. We developed a PocketPC prototype application by using user-centered design principles, which we presented as a third alternative in usability research conducted among university students. Results gathered in such a way have confirmed that development of e-Learning system, in order to be widely accepted by students, needs to have the user(student) in the center of development process.

Design and Implementation of a Content Model for m-Learning

  • It is difficult for mobile learners to maintain a high level of concentration when learning content for more than an hour while they are on the move. Despite the attention span issue, many m-learning systems still provide their mobile learners with the same content once used in e-learning systems. This has called for an investigation to identify the suitable characteristics of the m-learning environment. With this in mind, we have conducted a survey in hopes of determining the requirements for developing more suitable m-learning content. Based on the results of the survey, we have developed a content model comprised of two types: a segment type and a supplement type. In addition, we have implemented a prototype system of the content model for Apple iPhones and Android smartphones in order to investigate a feasibility study of the model application.

자기결정성 이론에 기반한 게이미피케이션 이러닝 수업이 대학생의 수업참여도, 학습몰입도, 교수실재감에 미치는 효과 (The Effects of Gamification E-Learning Classes Based on Self-Determination Theory on University Students' Class Participation, Learning Immersion, Teaching Presence)

  • 이 연구는 자기결정성이론에 기반한 게이미피케이션 이러닝 수업을 개발하고 그 효과를 확인하기 위한 서술적 조사연구이다. 자료수집 기간은 2023년 3월 1일부터 6월 15일까지 G광역시 G대학교 학생 59명을 대상으로 강좌 전후 수업참여도, 학습몰입도, 교수실재감을 조사하였다. 수집된 자료의 분석은 IBM SPSS/Win 26.0을 이용하였으며 서술통계, 분산분석(ANOVA), 공분산분석(ANCOVA)을 실시하였다. 연구결과 자기결정성 기반 게이미피케이션 수업은 수업에 참여한 학생들의 수업참여도, 학습몰입도, 교수실재감을 유의하게 향상시켰다(p<.05). 연구대상자의 일반적인 특성이 사후 검사의 결과에 영향을 미쳤는지 알아보기 위해 공분산분석(ANCOVA) 실시한 결과, 성별이 학습몰입도의 사후 검사 결과에 영향을 미쳤으며, 그 영향력은 7.9%였다. 이 연구결과를 바탕으로 자기결정성 기반 게이미피케이션 이러닝수업이 학습자의 수업참여도, 학습몰입도, 교수실재감에 효과적임을 알 수 있었다. 대학에서 이러닝의요구가 확대되고 있으므로 자기결정성 기반 게이미피케이션 이러닝 수업이 교양 및 전공영역에서 다양하게 개발되어야 할 것이다.

블렌디드 러닝 수업에 대한 간호학생의 만족도 조사 (A Study on Nursing Students' Satisfaction in Blended Learning)

  • 본 연구의 목적은 Blended learning 수업에서 간호학생의 만족도와 연구대상의 일반적 특성에 따른 만족도 차이를 확인하는 것이다. 본 연구는 '간호학특론 I (1)' 과목을 수강한 간호학과 4학년 학생 중 연구 참여에 동의한 학생을 대상으로 하여 설문조사를 실시하였다. 총 142부 중 122부를 분석하였다. 본 연구의 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 학습자의 수업 만족도는 오프라인 수업 만족도가 가장 높았고, 온라인 수업, Blended learning 수업 만족도 순이었다. 둘째, 연구대상자의 일반적 특성 중 성별에 따라 온라인 수업 만족도에 차이가 있었고 오프라인 수업 만족도는 주관적 성적 정도에 따라 유의한 차이가 있었다. 셋째, Blended learning 수업 중 온라인 수업에서 가장 개선되어야 할 부분으로 학생들은 기술지원 및 시스템을 지적하였다. 본 연구를 통해 효과적인 Blended learning 수업 방안과 Blended learning에 대한 대학의 정책 수립을 위한 기초자료를 제시할 수 있을 것이다.
