  • This paper presents an efficient algorithm to estimate the maximum load level for heavily loaded power systems with the load-generation vector obtained by ELD (Economic Load Dispach) and/or short term load forecasting while utilizing the elliptic pattern of the P-e curve. It is well known the power flow equation in the rectangular corrdinate is jully quadratic. However, the coupling between e and f makes it difficult to take advantage of this quadratic characteristic. In this paper, the elliptic characteristics of P-e curve are illustrated and a simple technique is proposed to reflect the e-f coupling effects on the estimation of maximum loadability with theoretical analysis. An efficient estimation algorithm has been developed with the use of the elliptic properties of the P-e curve. The proposed algorithm is tested on IEEE 14 bus system, New England 39 bus system and IEEE 118 bus system, which shows that the maximum load level can be efficiently estimated with remarkable improvement in accuracy.

Preparation and Characterization of Coating Solution Based on Waterborne Polyurethane Dispersion containing Fluorine for Primer on Electro Galvanized Steel Sheet

  • The purpose of this research was to synthesize fluorine modified waterborne polyurethane dispersion (F-WPU) by soap-free (internal emulsifier) emulsion polymerization techniques, to prepare coating solution based on fluorine modified waterborne polyurethane dispersion (F-WPU) and to compare the chemical and thermo-mechanical properties on the electrogalvanized steel sheet. Environmentally friendly F-WPU was prepared with a fluorinated polyol containing 60 wt% of fluorine. There are various ways of combining a wide variety of fluorinated polyols and diisocyanate to exhibit novel properties of waterborne polyurethane dispersion. Components of coating solution were largely divided into 4 kinds i.e., F-WPU, acrylic emulsion, silane coupling agent, and colloidal silicate. F-WPU coating solution on the electro-galvanized steel sheet showed excellent properties of corrosion resistance, alkali resistance and heat resistance, as compared to other coating solutions using a general waterborne resin. The F-WPU coating solution's reliable effects are possibly due to the fluorine atoms incorporated even in a small amount of F-WPU.

헤비페르미온계 CeNi2Ge2의 자기 및 열적 특성 (The Magnetic and Thermal Properties of a Heavy Fermion CeNi2Ge2)

  • The electromagnetic and thermal properties of a heavy fermion $CeNi_2Ge_2$ are investigated using first-principle methods with local density approximation (LDA) and fully relativistic approaches. The Ce f-bands are located near the Fermi energy $E_F$ and hybridized with the Ni-3d states. This hybridization plays important roles in the characteristics of this material. The fully relativistic approach shows that the 4f states split into $4f_{7/2}$ and $4f_{5/2}$ states due to spin-orbit coupling effects. It can be found that within the LDA calculation, the density of states near the Fermi level are mainly of Ce-derived 4f states. The Ni-derived 3d states have high peaks around -1.7eV and spreaded over wide range around the Fermi level. The calculated magnetic of $CeNi_2Ge_2$ with LDA method does not match with that of experimental result because of strong correlation interaction between electrons in f orbitals. The calculations show that the specific heat coefficient underestimates the experimental value by a factor of 19.1. The discrepancy between the band calculation and experiment for specific heat coefficient is attributed to the formation of a quasiparticle. Because of the volume contraction, the exchange interaction between the f states and the conduction electrons is large in $CeNi_2Ge_2$, which increases the quasiparticle mass. This will result in the enhancement of the specific hear coefficient.

INTEGRATED VEHICLE CHASSIS CONTROL WITH A MAIN/SERVO-LOOP STRUCTURE

  • In order to reduce the negative effects of dynamic coupling among vehicle subsystems and improve the handling performance of vehicle under severe driving conditions, a vehicle chassis control integration approach based on a main-loop and servo-loop structure is proposed. In the main-loop, in order to achieve satisfactory longitudinal, lateral and yaw response, a sliding mode controller is used to calculate the desired longitudinal, lateral forces and yaw moment of the vehicle; and in the servo-loop, a nonlinear optimizing method is adopted to compute the optimal control inputs, i.e. wheel control torques and active steering angles, and thus distributes the forces and moment to four tire/road contact patches. Simulation results indicate that significant improvement in vehicle handling and stability can be expected from the proposed chassis control integration.

Effect of damage on permeability and hygro-thermal behaviour of HPCs at elevated temperatures: Part 2. Numerical analysis

  • In the Part 1 paper (Gawin, et al. 2005) some experimental results concerning micro-structural tests, permeability measurements and stress-strain tests of four types of High Performance Concrete, exposed to elevated temperatures (up to $700^{\circ}C$) are presented and discussed. On the basis of these experimental results parameters of the constitutive relationships describing influence of damage and temperature upon material intrinsic permeability at high temperature were determined. In this paper the effects of various formulations of damage-permeability coupling on results of computer simulations are analysed and compared with the results obtained by means of the previously proposed approach, that does not take into account the thermo-chemical concrete damage directly. Numerical solutions are obtained using the recently developed fully coupled model of hygro-thermal and damage phenomena in concrete at elevated temperatures. High temperature effects are considered by means of temperature and pressure dependence of several material parameters. Based on the mathematical model, the computer code HITECOSP was developed. Material parameters of the model were measured by several European laboratories, which participated in the "HITECO" research project. A model problem, concerning hygro-thermal behaviour and degradation of a HPC structure during fire, is solved. The influence of two different constitutive descriptions of the concrete permeability changes at high temperature, including thermo-chemical and mechanical damage effects, upon the results of computer simulations is analysed and discussed.

  • 전단변형(剪斷變形) 효과(效果)가 고려되는 공간(空間)뼈대 구조(構造)의 기하학적(幾何學的)인 비선형(非線形) 해석(解析)을 수행하기 위한 두 가지 방법 즉, 유한분절법(有限分節法)과 유한요소법(有限要素法)을 제시한다. 유한분절법(有限分節法)의 경우에는 평형방정식(平衡方程式)을 직접(直接) 적분(積分)하므로써 휨과 비틂거동(擧動)에 대한 엄밀(嚴密)한 접선강도(接線剛度) 매트릭스가 유도되는 반면에 유한요소법(有限要素法)의 경우에는 전단변형(剪斷變形)을 고려하는 Hermitian 다항식(多項式)을 형상함수(形狀函數)로 사용하므로써 탄성(彈性) 및 기하적(幾何的)인 강도(剛度)매트릭스가 산정된다. 또한 축방향력(軸方向力)이 영(零)인 경우에 휨 및 비틂거동으로 인한 부재양단의 길이변화를 보정하는 Bowing 함수와 불평형하중의 산정방법을 제시한다. 선택된 예제(例題)들을 해석(解析)한 결과들과 다른 문헌(文獻)의 결과들을 비교, 검토하므로써 본(本) 논문(論文)에서 제시된 이론(理論)의 정당성(正當性)을 입증(立證)한다.

무작위 격자 모델을 이용한 파이버 보강 콘크리트의 건조수축 균열 거동 해석 (Simulation of Cracking Behavior Induced by Drying Shrinkage in Fiber Reinforced Concrete Using Irregular Lattice Model)

  • 시멘트계 기질을 사용하는 복합재료는 재료 양생 과정에서 발생하는 건조수축 균열에 취약하다. 본 연구에서는 파이버 보강 콘크리트의 건조수축에 의한 파괴 거동을 시뮬레이션 하고, 파이버의 조건이 균열 특성에 미치는 영향에 대해 분석한다. 수치 해석 모델은 무작위 격자 형태의 기하학적 구조를 공유하는 관로 요소와 rigid-body-spring 요소로 구성되는데, 각 요소가 담당하는 비역학적-역학적 거동의 커플링에 의해 건조수축이 표현된다. 파이버 보강을 모델링하기 위해 rigid-bodyspring network 내부의 semi-discrete 파이버 요소를 적용하였다. KS F 2424 자유 건조수축 실험을 해석하고 시간에 따른 건조수축 변형률 변화를 비교함으로써 재료의 건조수축 관련 계수들을 산정한다. 다음으로 여러 파이버 혼입률에 대해 KS F 2595 구속 건조수축 실험을 시뮬레이션 하고 균열 발생 일자를 선행 실험 결과와 비교하여 해석 모델의 타당성을 검증한다. 또한, 파이버의 길이와 표면 형태를 변화시켜 건조수축 균열 해석을 수행하고 최대 균열 폭을 측정하여 시뮬레이션에서 나타나는 균열 제어 효과를 판단한다.

NiFe/[FeMn/Mn]80/NiFe 다층박막에서 극-초박막 Mn 삽입에 의한 교환결합세기와 열적 안정성 향상 (Enhancement of Exchange Coupling Field and Thermal Stability by an Ultra-thin Mn Inserted layer on NiFe/[FeMn/Mn]80/NiFe Multilayers)

  • Mn층 삽입에 의한 NiFe/[FeMn/Mn]$_{80}$/NiFe 다층박막에서 열처리에 따른 교환결합세기의 변화를 조사하였다. Ta(50$\AA$)/NiFe(150 $\AA$)/[F $e_{53}$M $n_{47}$(1.25 $\AA$)/Mn(0 $\AA$, 0.11 $\AA$, 0.3 $\AA$)]$_{80}$/NiFe(90 $\AA$)/Ta(50 $\AA$) 다층박막을 이온빔 증착 스퍼터링법으로 제작하였다. 삽입한 Mn 총 두께가 0 $\AA$, 9 $\AA$, 그리고 24 $\AA$인 다층박막에 대해 조사된 fcc 결정조직의 x-선 회절세기의 비인 NiFe(111)/FeMn(111)값은 각각 0.65, 0.90, 그리고 1.5이었다. Mn이 삽입되지 않은 시료인 경우, 열처리 온도 30$0^{\circ}C$에서 상부 NiFe층의 교환결합세기는 260 Oe로 유지한 후 35$0^{\circ}C$에서 사라졌다. Mn 삽입층의 두께가 0.11 $\AA$, 0.3 $\AA$인 두개의 시료에 대해, 300 $^{\circ}C$에서 상부 NiFe층의 교환결합세기는 각각 310 Oe와 180 Oe로 유지한 후 40$0^{\circ}C$에서 모두 사라졌다. 한편 하부 NiFe층의 교환결합세기는 250 $^{\circ}C$까지 100 Oe에서 70 Oe로 감소하는 동일한 경향을 보여 주었고, 300 $^{\circ}C$ 이상부터는 증가하는 경향이 관찰되었다. 다층박막 내에 뿔뿔이 산란하여 이동하는 Mn 원자의 확산은 주로 결정 조직의 결함이 생성되고 치밀도가 약한 상부 NiFe 층에 영향을 주고 있음을 알 수 있었다. 극 초박막 형태로 Mn 원자층의 삽입에 의한 NiFe/[FeMn/Mn]80/NiFe 다층박막에서 교환결합세기와 열적 안정성 향상을 보여 주었다.

아몰퍼스자성박막의 특성에 미치는 등방성 스트레인의 영향 (Effect of Isotropic Strain on Properties of Amorphous Magnetic films)

  • Fe-base amorphous films exhibit large saturation magnetostriction and soft magnetic Properties, which make them suitable for strain sensor applications. Most important material properties for the performance of these elements are the superior soft magnetic properties, such as high permeability and small coercive force, as well as magnetoelastic properties. It is well known that the strain generated in film deposition and/or post-heat treatment processes is one of important material properties, which effects on the soft magnetic properties of the film via magnetoelastic coupling. In this study, the effect of an isotropic strain in plane of magnetic films have been performed experimently. Amorphous films with the composition of (F $e_{90}$ $Co_{10}$)$_{78}$S $i_{l2}$ $B_{10}$ were employed in this study. The film with 5${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$ thick was deposed onto the polyimide substrate with 50${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$ thick by virtue of RF sputtering. The film was subject to post annealing with a static magnetic field with 500Oe magnetic field intensity at 35$0^{\circ}C$ for 1 hour. The polyimide substrate with the film was bonded with an adhesive on PZT piezoelectric substrate with 600${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$ thick in applying voltage of 500V. The change in MH loops of films due to the isotropic strain was measured by using VSM. The coercive force was evaluated from MH loops. It has shown in the results that M-H loops of films are subject to change considerably with a dc voltage, resulting of the magnetization rotation from normal to plane direction as the applied voltage is changed from 500V to 250V.50V.V.
