An Implementation of XML Database System for Semantic-Based E-Catalog Image Retrieval (의미기반 전자 카탈로그 이미지 검색을 위한 XML 데이타베이스 시스템 구현)

  • Recently, the web sites, such as e-business sites and shopping mall sites, deal with lots of catalog image information and contents. As a result, it is required to support semantic-based image retrieval efficiently on such image data. This paper presents a semantic-based image retrieval system, which adopts XML and Fuzzy technology. To support semantic-based retrieval on product catalog images containing multiple objects, we use a multi-level metadata structure which represents the product information and semantics of image data. To enable semantic-based retrieval on such image data, we design a XML database for storing the proposed metadata and study how to apply fuzzy data. This paper proposes a system, generate the fuzzy data automatically to use the image metadata, that can support semantic-based image retrieval by utilizing the generating fuzzy data. Therefore, it will contribute in improving the retrieval correctness and the user's satisfaction on semantic-based e-catalog image retrieval.

On-line Recommendation Service Algorithm using Human Sensibility Ergonomics (감성공학을 이용한 온라인 추천 서비스 알고리즘)

  • To be successful in increasingly competitive Internet marketplace, it is essential to capture customer loyalty. This paper deals with an intelligent agent approach to incorporate customer's sensibility into an one-to-one recommendation service in on-line shopping mall. In this paper the focus of interest is on-line recommendation service algorithm for development of Human Sensibility based web agent system. The recommendation agent system composed of seven services including specialized algorithm. The on-line recommendation service algorithm use human sensibility ergonomics and on-line preference matching technologies to tailor to the customer the suggestion of goods and the description of store catalog. Customizing the system's behavior requires the parallel execution of several tasks during the interaction (e.g., identifying the customer's emotional preference and dynamically generating the pages of the store catalog). Most of the present shopping malls go through the catalog of goods, but the future shopping malls will have the form of intelligent shopping malls by applying the on-line recommendation service algorithm.

  • In order to care about preserving the environment for future generations, each country has been required to make the laws of the environment. So car manufacturers must design, manufacture and sell cars and trucks that meet customer's need and must do this while meeting the needs of the environment. In this research we have developed product structure and configuration management system that treats electronic catalogs for recycling of automobile parts. This research focused on two system. One is XML-based electronic catalog that give the information about recycling of automobile parts. The other is product structure and configuration management system based on electronic catalog.

  • In recent years, with the advent of e-Commerce the need for personalized services and one-to-one marketing has been emphasized. To be successful in increasingly competitive Internet marketplace, it is essential to capture customer loyalty. In this paper, we provide an intelligent agent approach to incorporate human sensibility into an one-to-one recommendation service in cyber shopping mall. Our system exploits human sensibility ergonomics and on-line preference matching technologies to tailor to the customer the suggestion of goods and the description of store catalog. Customizing the system`s behavior requires the parallel execution of several tasks during the interaction (e. g., identifying the customer`s emotional preference and dynamically generating the pages of the store catalog). The recommendation agent system composed of five modules including specialized agents carries on these tasks. By presenting goods that are consistent with user interests as well as user sensibility, the accuracy and satisfaction of the recommendation service may be improved.

KMTNet Microlensing Event-Finding in the Galactic Bulge

  • We introduce a coordinate catalog for photometry of the KMTNet Galactic bulge observation program and how to find the microlensing event candidates in the photometry result. Basically, the KMTNet bulge program is monitoring a total of 27 target fields (108 deg2) with four different cadences of 0.5, 1.0, 2.5, and 5.0 hours. In order to measure the stellar flux of each target, we made a 'observation coordinate catalog' by using the 'OGLE-III catalog' and 'DoPhot package'. The catalog contains approximately 0.3 billion stars in the bulge fields. We also search for a microlensing event candidates by means of the 'Event Finder algorithm' which calculates the restricted single-lens fitting (t0, teff, u0; u0 = 0 or 1) model. As a result, we found more than 2,000 microlensing event candidates per each year including about 700 events from the other survey groups such as OGLE and MOA. In this year, we will improve our current pipeline system, e.g. upgrading the catalog and applying real-time photometry.

  • 현재 전자 상거래에서 사용되고 있는 전자 카탈로그 시스템은 각 기업과 산업별로 다른 시스템 체계를 구축하고 있다. 이로 인해 각 시스템 별로 전자 카탈로그 정보를 교환 및 거래에서 사용할 수 없을 뿐만 아니라. 단순한 상품에 대한 전시에 불과하다. 또한 기업 간 거래에 있어서 전자 카탈로그의 교환을 통해서 상거래를 할 수 있는 통합형 전자 카탈로그 시스템의 필요성이 증대 되었다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 XML(eXtensible Markup Language)으로 저작된 전자 카탈로그 문서를 등록하고 기업의 거래에 있어서 상품에 대한정보를 이용할 수 있는 통합형 전자 카탈로그 등록 시스템을 설계 및 구현을 하게 되었다.

  • We can buy products everywhere from Web-based shopping mall using desktop, cellular phone or PDA. To guarantee the various services for different equipment, shopping mail systems should allow a lot of different size or quality of images to provide a good service to their customers. Despite of same product image, each shopping mall saves the image in its storage space individually. Furthermore, all the product images in each shopping mall are stored as images of different quality. It may waste resources of shopping mail server and bring us developmental overhead. It is difficult to update all the images for product that is used by distributed e-catalog in everywhere. In this paper, we extended the proposed Web Image Server (WIS) for sharing one image with all clients and processing Image dynamically, so that we strengthened the function of managing shopping mall as a client of WIS and added the function of recording clients'log file and image catalog for shopping mall. We measured the response time from WIS and conventional e-Commerce site using by WAS which is one of the stress test tools for Web application. Furthermore, we measured WIS responses image requests in reasonable time when the current user is increased.

  • Until recently, there have been fundamental changes in many fields of industries. Especially, the mass-production is being changed into mass-customization. In order to construct a 3D e-catalog system far the utilization of mass-customization, there are several matters to consider. Setting realistic 3D image should be effective fur providing the customers with the product information with reality and raising their interest. This study explains the whole process to convert CAD data formed from the production activities into VRML data used in virtual reality environment. Examples are given and discussed to validate the proposed activity.
