  • Product catalog information is the most important factor to make customers purchase the product for various B2B or B2C businesses provided on the Internet. As catalog information differs from company by company, it cannot provide common criteria standard to customers to make decisions. Therefore, it is necessary to develop a platform independent system, which integrates incompatible data from each company' catalogs and manages its database. This paper describes the integrated E-catalog system made up DB module, catalog management module, and interface module. This system allows customers to view standardized product catalog information from different companies with real -time updates, and also provides extensibility, flexibility, and interoperability for the effective E-Business management.

  • As the networks (i.e., intranet and internet) proliferate all over the world, it is inevitable to move some (or all) of the enterprise activities into virtual spaces. Differently from business data, product data have complex semantics and thus are not properly exchanged among different application programs. Even though some neutral formats of product data have been developed by standard organizations, translating them among various application programs still needs the comprehensive understanding of the complex semantics. Recently, it is widely recognized that capturing more knowledge is the next step In overcome the current difficulties on sharing product data. In this paper, we present Web-based knowledge management that facilitates seamless sharing of product data among various application programs in virtual enterprises. Three types of knowledge are managed by the knowledge management system - metadata, ontology, and mapping. In this environment, we consider both business applications (e.g., ERP, SCM, and EDI System) and engineering applications (e.g., CAD and CAM system).

  • ISO 13584 Parts Library (PLIB) standard is making its way into e-business as a norm for classifying products and their characteristics. PLIB is a multi-parts standard, and the Part 42: Methodology for structuring Parts families Provides the information model and design Principles for the data dictionary of parts library or e-catalog. If e-catalog systems are built using a data dictionary that is constructed based on PLIB dictionary data model, many different e-catalog systems can be easily integrated and interoperated. This paper studies the roles and requirements of the data dictionary in e-catalog, and applies the data model and design principles of PLIB Part 42 to construct a data dictionary from the viewpoint of ontology Based on the analysis results, we propose a data dictionary of die and mold parts, and implementat the B2B e-catalog system.

  • E-business has been regarded as new type of marketing channels and has been growing rapidly. The purpose of this study was to investigate textile sensibility depending on consumers' purchase experience of apparel product in e-business. The analyses of 202 questionnaires were conducted by frequency, mean, and standard deviation, and t-test using SPSS 10.0. Computer setting environment was 1280$\times$1024 resolution with 96 DPI (dots per inch) for this experiment. The results of this research were as follows: Melton (flat axis), habutae (thin axis), suede (wet axis), and terry (rustic axis) showed that there were no significant differences in textile sensibility regarding purchasing experience in the cyber apparel store. But oxford (hard axis) showed that purchasing experience group perceived less modern and smooth textile sensibility than no purchasing experience group. In case of linen (dry axis), purchasing experience group showed less modern textile sensibility. In case of muslin (soft axis), purchasing experience group had more flat and less soft textile sensibility than no purchasing experience group. In case of homespun (thick axis), purchasing experience group perceived less modern textile sensibility than no purchasing experience group.

  • XML is a global standard for the Internet and e-business, and its use is growing in proportion to the spreading speed of e-Commerce. Thus, a policy for providing more safe security service for exchanging e-documents within e-Commerce is necessary. XKMS, one of XML security specification, defines the protocol for distributing and registering public keys for verifying electronic signatures and enciphering e-documents of e-Commerce applications with various and complicate functions. In this paper, we propose X-KISS service reference model and implement service component based on standard specification. Also describes the analysis and security of XML key information service for safe e-Commerce, paying attention to the features of XML based security service. This reference model supported include public key location by given identifier information, the binding of such keys to identifier information. The client service component controls the number of locate threads and validate threads to analyze the minimum requirements of real-time key retrievals. This service modeling offers the security construction guideline for future domestic e-business frameworks.

  • The concept of e-Business has been around for more than two decades but it has not been used widely enough due to high installation and maintenance cost and complexity. In order to solve such problems, two standardization organizations UN/CEFACT and OASIS have developed an open e-Business standard called ebXML that can be easily adopted by industries. Based on the ebXML, we have developed an e-Logistics integrated platform for industries to do business electronically. The e-Logistics integrated platform was applied to B2B postal logistics industry and efficient interoperability between companies with different systems has been achieved.

  • Electronic payment continuously increases in B2B trade, there by encouraging active development of information systems which support e-payment mechanisms. In this situation the information systems are supposed to implement various forms of e-payment mechanisms, and provide standard modeling functionalities for e-payment processes. In this paper we assess business process modeling methods for the purpose of e-payment mechanism modeling, and suggest guidelines for e-payment mechanism modeling. The results can be used as a good guideline to business process modeling of e-payment mechanisms.

  • As business-to-business electronic commerce becomes activated, usage rate of standard electronic documents is rapidly increasing. Types and forms of standard documents exchanged between businesses have also been changed. Instead of EDI documents, mainly used in the initial phase, XML documents have been actively used recently. However, most framework standards for XML documents just specify basic syntax rules, messaging protocols, and standard documents. As a result, it has been usually difficult to procure efficiency and effectiveness in developing new standard electronic documents. Reflecting the experiences of developing UN/EDIFACT, UN/CEFACT provides a methodology and library for reusing standard data items as components when defining electronic documents. However, much additional effort is required for applying the methodology and library to the development process. In order to improve this situation, this paper proposes a system for supporting the development process by reusing various resources of registries/repositories, focusing on UN/CEFACT submission forms for standard electronic documents.

  • In e-Marketplace, many companies are participating frequently either as supplier or as customer. Thus, electronic processing of transactions and flexible integration with participating companies' processes are required. These situation requires process integration using workflow and the exchange of transaction document using XML(eXtensible Markup Language). This paper presents methodologies to model business processes in e-Marketplace where many companies are participating and to exchange electronic messages using ebXML that have become a standard in electronic commerce. These methodologies can integrate and manage processes in electronic commerce environment, and can process ebXML standard documents efficiently, making electronic commerce more harmoniously in global market. The system constructed in this research supports business processes between companies by exchanging XML messages conforming Wf-XML and ebXML standards using SOAP protocol.

  • ebXML (Electronic Business using extensible Markup language), sponsored by UN/CEFACT and OASIS, is a modular suite of specifications that enables enterprises of any size and in any geographical location to conduct business over the Internet. Using ebXML, companies now have a standard method to exchange business messages, conduct trading relationships, communicate data In common terms and define and resistor business processes. It is the mission of ebXML that provides an open XML-based infrastructure enabling the global use of electronic business information in an interoperable, secure and consistent manner by all parties for creating a single e1ectronic electronic market. This paper briefly overviews the concept of core component, context, assembly rule and context rule. Then, It designs by standard specifications of ebXML core component commonly used in an industry and among industries, and assembles business messages by using XML schema. Therefore, it suggests the mechanism which effectively exchanges business messages among the trading partners. This paper designs core component by using only three business messages of retail industry : orders, dispatch report, sales report.
