Improving Business Usability of XBRL Based on Semantic Web Approach (시맨틱 웹을 이용한 XBRL의 비즈니스 활용성 개선)

  • It is crucially important to exchange and manage the financial information of an organization for the reason of complexity and diversity of information caused by its implicit information involved. Especially, according to the development of information technology, various approaches appeared to manage financial data of organization. For example, XBRL (Extensible Business Reporting Language) is one of the technologies dealing with the above criteria. Basically, XBRL is a business reporting language to define and exchange financial information, such as a financial statement of organization. XBRL is an international standard which enables the exchange of information between information providers and consumers by adding the tags involving the information of circumstantial factors of data. However, XBRL is not able to describe semantics because XBRL is fundamentally based on XML(Extensible Markup Language) having the purpose of expressing and structuring data. Therefore, this paper aims to enable semantic information to XBRL through the semantic technology. The objective of this paper is an ontologization of the knowledge to perform sharing, reusing, discovering, and inferring the knowledge described and conducted by XBRL. In order to achieve the above objective, this paper suggests the methodology for the ontologization of the category and instance document of XBRL. Furthermore, this paper points out the possibility of suggested methodology in a practical business through indicating the advantages of the knowledge described by XBRL.

A Message Service Handler for ebXML 2.0 (ebXML TRP 2.0을 위한 MSH)

  • Recently, as electronic commerce service via the Internet has expanded over the world, the standardization for the e-commerce has been strongly required. Therefore UN/CEFACT and OASIS adopted ebXML standard for the purpose of creating single global electronic marketplace. New e-Business systems should require ebXMl- based messaging system for reliable messaging delivery. In this paper, we have implemented Message Service Handler(MSH) packaging, transporting and managing e-Business messages for supporting ebXML messaging service. The MSH supports various system environments and allows high-level applications running either local or remote hosts with Remote Method Invocation(RMI) interface. In addition, MSH guarantees reliable message delivery on internet since it retransmits message in case of delivery failure and handles duplicated message and applies acknowledgement message for secure message delivery. Nowadays MSH has applied to ebXML registry/repository.

  • XML(Extensible Markup Language) is an emerging standard for data representation and exchange in e-commerce and internet-based information. However, to realize this potential, it is necessary to be able to extract structured data from XML documents and store it in a database, as well as to generate XML documents from data extracted from a database. Although many DBMS vendors are scrambling to extend their products to handle XML, there is a need for a lightweight, DBMS and platform-independent XML middleware as well. In this paper we describe such a XML2RDB middleware, that solves the following problems . generating relational schema from XML DTDs for storage of XML documents, importing data from XML documents into relational tables, creating XML documents according to a XMLQL(XML Query Language) from data extracted from a database.

  • With its recent popularity, Web is now considered as a huge repository of information. Most documents on the web have been created using HTML(Hyper Text Markup Language). Even though HTML is simple and easy to learn, it has several features that are obstacles to the efficient information retrieval. XML(eXtensible Markup Language) can provide a solution to such problems and in fact, has already been used in many applications, XML is a standard markup language for exchanging data on the web. It can describe a document structure freely by defining its DTD, which enables efficient integration and retrieval of data on the web. In this paper, we propose a versatile and efficient XML document manager. Its features include (i) form-based XML editor that enables easy creation of new XML documents, (ii) automatic document converter that can transform HTML documents with similar structure into XML documents automatically, and (iii) GUI-based DTD editor.

  • A Semantic Web based service description is to enable intelligent matchmaking of services by improving representational flexibility and expressiveness in service description for Web Services. Flexibility concerns the way of how a computer handles the discrepancies in the granularity and the structure of service description between different participants of web services. Expressiveness means richness in the semantic description of services (or ontological representation of each service as a concept). The main shortcoming of currently available industry standard framework for e-commerce such as UDDI and ebXML is that they do not allow much flexibility and expressiveness in the service description. In our research we analyze the requirements of extending service description based on the Semantic Web, especially in the context of DAML-S. We also propose a method to be applied to implement intelligent web services by implementing a virtual auction site, testAuction.com. Finally, we consider some theoretical issues regarding the framework for web services using ontology.

  • Due to the convergence of voice, data, and video, today's telecom operators are facing the complexity of service and network management to offer differentiated value-added services that meet customer expectations. Without the operations support of well-developed Business Support System/Operations Support System (BSS/OSS), it is difficult to timely and effectively provide competitive services upon customer request. In this paper, a suite of NGOSS-based Telecom OSS (TOSS) is developed for the support of fulfillment and assurance operations of telecom services and IT services. Four OSS groups, TOSS-P (intelligent service provisioning), TOSS-N (integrated large-scale network management), TOSS-T (trouble handling and resolution), and TOSS-Q (end-to-end service quality management), are organized and integrated following the standard telecom operation processes (i.e., eTOM). We use IPTV and IP-VPN operation scenarios to show how these OSS groups co-work to support daily business operations with the benefits of cost reduction and revenue acceleration.

  • A single window platform must be successfully established by implementing CDM/UCR in WCO and UNeDocs in UN/CEFACT, which is part of the framework of standards for secure and facilitate global trade. Core success factors in single window platform for international trade depend on political innovative capacity, advanced leadership of high ranking officials and departments in charge, effective collaborations between the ministries and offices concerned which are supported by supreme executives, self-controlled coordinations between users, convenience and access availability to users, promotion and marketing, identification on predictive impediments, financial raising and revenue model payable, communication's strategy, valid legal basis etc. To settle a stable ubiquitous e-trade platform, firstly, procedures and practices of customs clearance which different from one another mutually must be standardized globally. Secondly, the international standard electronic data exchanges must be introduced to facilitate and simplify customs clearing procedures by holding administrative informations in common between public institutions. thirdly, cooperative work model must be accepted with enhancing outsourcing business between reference groups (export-import firms and IT service providers).

  • Recently, XML(extensible Markup Language) Document is widely accepted as the standard for electronic documents in the electronic commerce. Therefore, a security mechanism for XML documents must be provided In the first place. ESES(ETRI Secure I-commerce Services) provides a system designed specifically for securing XML documents and existing non-XML documents that are exchanged in the Electronic Commerce and is essential to various electronic commerce platform as a fundamental system. In this paper, we provide an overview of these aspects of the ESES and design and implemented the secure I-Commerce Platform to support security services such as authentication, integrity and confidentiality for Electronic Document Interchange.

A Study on the Application of Cross-Certification Technology for the Automatic Authentication of Charging Users in ISO 15118 Standard (ISO 15118 충전 사용자 자동인증을 위한 교차인증서 기술의 적용에 관한 연구)

  • ISO 15118 is an international standard that defines communication between electric vehicles and electric vehicle chargers. Plug & Charge (PnC) was also defined as a technology to automatically authenticate users when using charging services. PnC indicates automatic authentication technology where all processes such as electric vehicle user authentication, charging and billing are automatically processed. According to the standard, certificates for chargers and CPSs (Certificate Provisioning Services) should be under the V2G (Vehicle to Grid) Root certificate. In Korea, the utility company operates its own PKI (Public Key Infrastructure), making it difficult to provide chargers under the V2G Root Certificate. Therefore, a method that can be authenticated is necessary even when you have different Root Certificates. This paper proposes to apply cross-certificate technology to PnC authentication. Automatic authentication of Cross Certification is to issue a cross-certificate of the Root CA and include it in the certificate chain to proceed with automatic authentication, even if you have different Root certificates. Applying cross-certificate technology enables verification of certificates under other Root certificates. In this paper, the PnC automatic authentication and cross certificate automatic authentication is implemented, so as to proceed with proof of concept proving that both methods are available. Define development requirements, certificate profiles, and user authentication sequences, and implement and execute them accordingly. This experiment confirms that two automatic authentication are practicable, especially the scalability of automatic authentication using cross-certificate PnC.

  • This study investigates the current situation of the ISO 9000 manufacturing industry in Taiwan, analyzing the business influence of ISO 9000 and the relation of the influence to industry-related characteristics. The study utilized polling and was approached from six aspects, using 26 indicator items to evaluate performance. The six approaches consisted of business management, finance management, production management, human resources management, marketing management, and a company's overall situation. Methods used to analyze the collected data were mainly drawn from descriptive statistics e.g.. the T test and analysis of single factors with variation. The study found that $96.6\%$ of the industry thought that the introduction of the ISO 9000 series was somewhat beneficial. The 26 indicator items among the six approaches were proved substantially effective by the T test. It was obvious that the effect of the ISO 9000 series industry standard was beneficial and helpful to the manufacturing industry.
