Study on Job Satisfaction and Foodservice Management of Dieticians and Nutrition Teachers in Special Schools for the Disabled: Focused on Gyeonggi Area (경기도 소재 특수학교에 근무하는 영양사.영양교사의 직무만족도와 급식운영 현황)

  • This study examined students' menu preferences as well as the job satisfaction and specific considerations concerning foodservice operation of dieticians and nutrition teachers at special schools for the disabled. Semi-structured interview questionnaires were sent to all of the 21 special schools with direct school food service in Gyeonggi-do, and 16 dieticians and nutrition teachers agreed to participate in this study. Among the various menu groups, the subjects perceived the meat group as the most preferred and the vegetable group the least preferred. They were generally satisfactory with their job and duty, and had a strong sense of belonging to the school. However, most of them answered that they needed more time for nutritional education and counseling. While most had pride and pleasure in their job, they expressed a desire to change the system to better fit with their roles as professional nutritionists. The content analysis revealed that the subjects mainly focused on safety issues in planning the food menu and were thus limited in selecting menu items. They also felt difficulty in menu planning due to various tastes and preferences, since special schools tend to consist of a wider grade range. However, most subjects reported little trouble in food distribution and food leftovers owing to practical support from teachers and parents. The necessity for education concerning table manners and obesity prevention was generally a shared opinion, and education programs for parents were also perceived as necessary to better understand the special considerations for developing proper eating habits in their child. The study findings provide useful basic data to improve the foodservice system at special schools.

  • This study conducted a questionnaire survey of family restaurant employees in Seoul on their satisfaction and preference in working uniforms, and analysed the result to suggest adequate designs to serve the purposes of uniforms. The result is as follows - First, many pointed out a need to improve generally showing a low satisfaction with varying degrees according to sexes and ages. More women complained about colors, designs, materials and sizes than men did, and young employees in their twenties wanted better designs, colors and sizes in the order while those in their thirties and forties were dissatisfied mostly with materials. The need fur the improvement was focused on function and designs, and as for uniform materials, perspiration absorbency had the highest level of dissatisfaction. Second, about 40% of the respondents said the skirt width, pants length, and sleeve width were trio small or too big, therefore it is vital to improve uniform sizes. Third, the employees on duty felt uncomfortable mostly when they sat, and the neck and armhole parts were the most uncomfortable. The most easily tainted parts were in the order of the collar, front hem, and sleeve seam for upper garments, and the hip, bottom hem, and pleats for lower ones. Therefore it is required to develop functional uniforms considering the body features and momentum. Fourth, the most preferred material was that guaranteed easy movement and good air-permeability, and colors were in the order of white, beige and black for upper garments, and black, beige and blue for lower ones. And plain, natural and stripped patterns were preferred by both men and women. As seen so far, restaurant employees were mostly dissatisfied with the design, movement, and function of their uniforms demanding functional ones made of better and comfortable material.   • Recently several hospitals have established a new nursing position so called, 'the nurse in charge of education (NCE).' The job description of NCE is to give a detail explanation on examination or test introduced to patients or a guide for those who are not familiar to hospital facilities at the out-patients level. The motivation of NCE position is the quality improvement in patient education on the sophisticated procedures or the follow up care for medical purposes to improve their compliances, as well in delivering services for outpatients or visitors in more informative and efficient way. The application of NCEA has been turned out positive and effective in patient satisfaction and unit management. However, special attention is brought to the scope and depth of the contents of education delivered by NCE which might overlap with the duty of physicians by the Medical Act. It is needed to clarify the role and job description of NCE in the context of Medical Act. The engagement of NCE to the Advanced Nursing Practitioner (ANP) is one of the possible solutions for a duty charge on patient education since ANP is a legislatively official position with higher license of RN at master level. Further discussion is needed to elaborate and arrange the details on the scope and content of patent education among health science professionals including RN, ANP and physicians.

  • objective: The purpose of this study was to investigate job satisfaction of dental hygienist who were employed at the private dental clinic in Ulsan, Korea methods: The date obtained from some dental hygienists during 1 month. the survey was performed by face-by-face interview questionnaire consisting of 23 items and 6 point Likert type response format. The respondents were 77 from dental hygienists. The adjusted response rate was 88.5%(77/87). Data were analyzed using frequency distribution, independent T-test, ANOVA, chi-square and correlation. all statistical analyzed were conducted using Statistical Package for SPSS 11.5 result: In each factorial duty contentment, the level of the self-conceit from their own job was the highest. on contrary, the level of their monthly earnings was the lowest. In such a case as there was experience to move to another dental hospital, the job satisfaction was higher than nothing to move. conclusion: The dental hygienist who is in charge of protecting and hygiene of the teeth and the disease of oral has much influence of oral health. job satisfaction the dental hygienists have for their own job can influence themselves and even patients. So, making the job satisfaction higher is necessary to improve the quality of general dental hygiene.

  • For the purpose of strengthening Dental Hygiene students' confidence and motivation in the Dental Hygiene Department and helping construct proper professionalism, survey on Dental Hygiene students' consciousness of attitude to and satisfaction of the course, career plan and occupation mind set was carried out. 530 three year students in 8 Dental Hygiene academies in Seoul and Kyonggi province were questioned. The results of the survery are as follows:. 1. Dental Hygiene students' motives consisted primarily of employment and a desire for professionalism 25% of them entered the course after one failure in the entrance examination and 17% had family members engaging in the dentistry field 84%, the largest portion, were from an academic high school. 24% had some knowledge of Dental Hygiene, which they had acquired from seniors, friends, and teachers. 2. Patient care and treatment assistance related matters were not considered important in the course. The weak points of the course turned out to be education in computers and foreign languages, but the weakest was the ability of patient care during clinical training. 53% had experiences had thought of changing their major while in the course because it didn't match their aptitude and interest. 3. As for a career after graduation, 49% worried about it Most students wanted to work at a dental hospital or general hospital, The most favored duty was coordination or reception or oral disease preventive work. They wanted to work untill they had a stable living. 68% answered they would get a job at an oral clinic and 70% said they would continue studying for self-realization. 4. Satisfaction with the major was high in students whose aptitude and interest matched the course, who had background knowledge of the major, and who. didn't think of changing the major but would continue studying resulting in statistically slight difference(p<0.001). As to satisfaction with the faculties, it was high in the students whose aptitude and interest matched the major and who didn't think about a career after graduation showing a slight difference(p<05, p<0l). As for satisfaction with clinical training, students whose aptitude and interest matched the major and who didn't consider changing the major answered positively showing a statistically slight difference(p<.001, p<.01). As to satisfaction with the course, it was high in the students who entered with aptitude and interest, who had preliminary knowledge, who didn't consider changing the major, and who didn't think about a career after graduation showing a statistically slight difference(p<.001, p<.05). 5. Occupation mind-set was positive for students who entered with interest and aptitude, who had preliminary knowledge, and who had not considered changing the major showing a statistically slight difference(P<.001). The higher the satisfaction with the major, faculty and clinical training was, the more positive the occupation mind-set was(p<.001).

  • The purpose of this research was to identify how service composition factor impact organizational performance of long-term care facilities for elderly people. The target population was the staffs who were working at long-term care facilities for elderly people in urban areas of Seoul, Inchon and cities in Kyonggi-do as of September 2012. Independent variables, main factors for organizational performances, are leadership, educational training, compensation, initiative, and service quality. Dependent variables are selected as duty satisfaction, job performance, financial aptitude and beneficiary-oriented policy. SPSS ver18.0 statistical computer program was conducted in order to analyze the multivariate statistical data. The results are examined in detail in terms of the influence of two managing systems in the senior-care service on the organizational performance and the evaluations of the relation and difference caused by the input variables in two managing systems. In one case of the influence of two managing systems in the senior-care service on the organizational performance, the findings show 1) the influence of the service managing factor is clearly related to duty satisfaction with the result of 0.001 (F=37.429) regression data, 2) the influence of the service managing factor is clearly related to job performance with the result of 0.001 (F=55.099) regression data, 3) the influence of the service managing factor is closely related to financial aptitude with the result of 0.001 (F=56.904) regression data, and 4) the influence of the service managing factor is also clearly related to beneficiary-oriented policy with the result of 0.001 (F=61.367) regression data.

  • The fatigue of the Private Security Guard, such as the increase of demanded conditions, are increasing by the change of environment of inside and outside of the Society. Private Security Guard unable to solve the problem of fatigue created by their tasks has high possibility of jeopardizing their associated and citizens as well as themselves. Furthermore, fatigue can also have not good effects on Organization in various aspects. Accordingly, the problem of Private Security Guard's fatigue has significant meanings especially on effectiveness of the Organization. So this study is performed to provide implications for Private Security Guard's life quality grows by grasping not only influence that fatigue has on job attitudes, and whole relation among fatigue, Turnover Intention and Job Satisfaction that are consequences of fatigue. The private security companies of their Turnover Intention and job satisfaction from the job to the significant influence of, Dae-Jun Chungnam Province and the 215 Private Security Guards working in 20 companies. This following the summary of this study in the relation between perceptions on fatigues and Turnover Intention and Job Satisfaction, perceptions on fatigues influences on Turnover Intention.

  • The study aimed to investigate the actual condition of working clothes in the Changwon National Industrial Complex and to analyze the industrial workers' satisfaction with and preference to the working clothes in terms of the clothing performance and work motion factors. 1 major companies in machinery, automotive, industrial engineering, shipbuilding and rolling stock industries located in the industrial complex were selected as the subject firms. Approximately 900 workers responded to the questionnaire designed for the research and the results derived from the research were as follows. (1) The subject employees were divided into 4 work groups, i.e. the $1^{st}$ work group: managerial, general affairs, sales, production planning; the $2^{nd}$ group: quality assurance, material planning and distribution, product inspection; the $3^{rd}$ group: electric, facilities, machinery, vehicles; and the $4^{th}$ group: cutting, pressing, rolling, welding and coating. (2) The significant work environmental factors considered by all work groups were air ventilation, noise and dust factors and in particular, the most dissatisfied factors evaluated by manufacture workers were insulation, noise, dust and vibration. (3) According to the employees' work motion evaluation, the work motion diversity and frequency increased in proportion to the degree of work intensity. Besides, manufacture workers more frequently wore the working clothes even during the off-duty hours comparing to the evaluation of the other work groups. (4) The most important clothing performance factors considered by manufacture work groups were perspiration absorption, stretch, air permeability, tactile sense softness, soil proof in order.

  • Our society is showing rapid growth throughout the industry, but it is in the era of nuclear family and aging. Due to the elderly, the demand for social welfare services such as medical treatment services tends to increase sharply. However, duties of senior citizens and social workers engaged in related medical care facilities are not clearly identified, and job stress has occurred and the degree of job satisfaction is extremely low. Therefore, in this paper, in relation to the social worker's duties of elderly nursing home care facilities, in practicing welfare services, knowledge base that was convergence with duties so that you can focus on service according to better environment and standardized procedures To provide a management system. Through the proposed system, social workers are expected to be able to improve work satisfaction by quickly grasping operations and escaping from job stress through their own development and information sharing.

A Study on Working conditions and Characteristics of Dental Technicians (치과기공사의 근무 환경 및 업무특성 평가에 관한 연구)

  • Purpose: This study was conducted to improve the working conditions of dental technicians, through survey for working conditions related to perform one's duty, the extent of personal exposure to substances hazardous and complaint rate and factor of job stress and subjective symptom on musculoskeletal disorders. Methods: Using four types of structured questionnaires: social and demographic factor; the actual conditions of working space; working conditions; and characteristics of dental technicians, respondents filled in the questionnaires and the results were analyzed statistically. Results: The evaluation of comfort in working place found that satisfaction level on indoor noise was the lowest with 2.6 on a five-point scale and privacy space followed 2.8 point. In reasons for dissatisfaction with job, over workload ranked the highest by 25.4% and role overload had the highest by 39.5% in job stress factors. Based on the results, we could draw conclusion that dental technicians were unsatisfied with role overload and heavy workload a day. In reasons for musculoskeletal symptom prevalence, long-patient work was the highest by 24.1%. It was thought to cause dental technicians need deep procession and long-patient work due to the nature of their job. Conclusion: In conclusion, noise reduction and privacy space are required to improve job efficiency of dental technicians. In addition; we need to think of ways to increase the job satisfaction with adequate rest while deep procession and long-patient working.
