  • Unsupervised Video Object Segmentation (UVOS) is a highly challenging problem in computer vision as the annotation of the target object in the testing video is unknown at all. The main difficulty is to effectively handle the complicated and changeable motion state of the target object and the confusion of similar background objects in video sequence. In this paper, we propose a novel deep Dual-stream Co-enhanced Network (DC-Net) for UVOS via bidirectional motion cues refinement and multi-level feature aggregation, which can fully take advantage of motion cues and effectively integrate different level features to produce high-quality segmentation mask. DC-Net is a dual-stream architecture where the two streams are co-enhanced by each other. One is a motion stream with a Motion-cues Refine Module (MRM), which learns from bidirectional optical flow images and produces fine-grained and complete distinctive motion saliency map, and the other is an appearance stream with a Multi-level Feature Aggregation Module (MFAM) and a Context Attention Module (CAM) which are designed to integrate the different level features effectively. Specifically, the motion saliency map obtained by the motion stream is fused with each stage of the decoder in the appearance stream to improve the segmentation, and in turn the segmentation loss in the appearance stream feeds back into the motion stream to enhance the motion refinement. Experimental results on three datasets (Davis2016, VideoSD, SegTrack-v2) demonstrate that DC-Net has achieved comparable results with some state-of-the-art methods.

  • Mass conservation is a key issue for accurate streamline and stream surface visualization of flow fields. This paper complements an existing method (Feng et al. 1997) for CFD velocity fields defined at discrete locations in space that uses dual stream functions to generate streamlines and stream surfaces. Conditions for using the method have been examined and its limitations defined. A complete set of dual stream functions for all possible cases of the linear fields on which the method relies are presented. The results in this paper are important for developing new methods for mass conservative streamline visualization from CFD and using the existing method.

  • There have been various approaches for efficiency improvement of a Darrieus tidal stream turbine after it was introduced as an alternative of horizontal axis turbines. Among the approaches, the researches on the interaction effect of dual configuration were conducted. In this study, a dual Darrieus turbine with a coupling mechanism was proposed for investigating the interaction effect. Also, the effect of bi-directional tidal stream was analyzed with prototype fabrication, apparatus set-up and experiment conduction in indoor and offshore facilities. As the results of the experiments, the dual turbine in case of counter-rotation and inflow between the turbines improved efficiencies by 9.5% and 11.31%, respectively, as compared to the single turbine. Also, the dual turbine in case of the inflow improved efficiencies by 9.4% and 16.62%, respectively, as compared to that in case of outflow between the turbines which represented the case of 180 degrees change of flow direction after slack water. Therefore, the proposed dual turbine showed the advantage in terms of the efficiency as compared to the single turbine and the effect level of the slack water on the performance of the dual turbine was investigated.

  • The present study addresses an experimental investigations of the near field flow structures of supersonic, dual, coaxial, swirl jet. The swirl stream is discharged from the secondary annular nozzle and the primary inner nozzle provides the sonic and supersonic free jets. The interactions between the secondary swirl and inner soni $c^ersonic jets are quantified by a fine pilot impact and static pressure measurements and are visualized by using a shadowgraph optical method. The pressure ratios of the secondary swirl and primary soni $c^ersonic jets are varied below 7.0. Experiments are conducted to investigate the effects of the secondary swirl stream on the primary sonic and supersonic jets, compared with the secondary stream of no swirl. The results show that the presence of annular swirl stream causes the Mach disk to move more downstream, with the increased diameter, and remarkably reduces the fluctuations of the impact pressures in the supersonic dual coaxial jet, compared with the case of the secondary annular stream of no swirl.swirl.

  • The near field structures of an under-expanded, dual, coaxial, jets issuing from the coaxial nozzles with four different geometries are visualized by using a shadowgraph optical method. Experiments are conducted to investigate the effects of the nozzle-lip thickness, secondary stream thickness, the nozzle pressure ratio and the secondary swirl stream on the characteristics of under-expanded jets. The results show that the presence of secondary annular swirling stream causes the Mach disk to move further downstream and increases its diameter, which decreases with a decrease in the nozzle-lip thickness. The secondary stream thickness has an influence on the location of an annular shock wave.

  • The injector, which is used in a 4-valve gasoline engine, is required to be maintained the dual stream because of the design of dual intake port. In addition, the spray characteristics of fuel injector have strong influence on engine performance, exhaust emission, fuel consumption, and especially the cold start condition for the port injection. So, commercial gasoline injectors off different type were inspected. Those are 2 hole,4 hole, air shroud 4 hole, and air shroud 4 hole injector with separator. The spray behavior of dual stream was researched by the visualization system and PDPA system was employed to measure the droplet size. Atomization is one of the most important characteristic, so droplet size distributions and SMD are investigated. And the spray characteristics of each injector are also analyzed such as the spray tip penetration, spray angle, and separation angle.

  • The dual-stream based stereoscopic 3D broadcasting standard was developed in 2011. EBS broadcasted 3DTV experimental service according to this standard in April 2012. Dual-stream based 3DTV broadcasting is service-compatible and backward-compatible, so viewers who have legacy 2D HDTV can watch the broadcasting content as 2D. And 3DTV viewers can select watching 2D or 3D. Since 3D content production is not usual yet for terrestrial broadcasters, only some particular programs in specific periods will be broadcasted as 3D at the initiatory stage. For it, stable viewing condition is strongly required for both 2D viewers and 3D viewers. This paper suggests broadcasting transmission system structure and effective switching scheme for stable 2D and 3D viewing conditions in the case of dual-stream based terrestrial 3DTV broadcasting.

  • The effects of fuel density and fuel viscosity on spray characteristics were investigated under two different gas turbine fuels and various fuel supply pressure conditions through measurement of SMD, number density and volume flux by using PDPA system in dual orifice injector for gas turbine engines. In this study, we found out that the droplet size and spray structure are strongly depend on fuel density for dual orifice injector. The spray characteristics of high density fuel in dual orifice injector are similar with the characteristics of low density fuel in single orifice injector. The shear region between primary main fuel stream and secondary main fuel stream is examined in low density fuel condition but not exist in high density fuel condition, then this shear region is very important in quality of gas turbine spray. There are worth consideration for the effect of fuel density on spray characteristics in frontal device design to improve combustion efficiency.

  • A scheme of more exact overflow probability analysis is proposed for traffic regulated by dual leaky bucket. To each regulated traffic stream is allocated bandwidth and buffer independent of other traffic stream and overflow occurs when total bandwidth or buffer allocated to each traffic exceed link capacity or physical buffer size. Ratio of buffer and bandwidth allocated to each traffic stream is assumed to be constant, and this ratio is larger than the ratio of physical buffer and bandwidth due to buffer sharing effect. Numerical experiments show that this sharing effect have significant influence on overflow probability and effective bandwidth.

  • This paper, discribes analysis of theree - dimensional extrusion with the use of dual stream functions, By this method admissible velocity fields for the extrusion of three- dimensional flow was newly derived kinematically. For square section the extrusion pressure was calculated by numerical solution program which was based on the upper bound analysis. The relationship between relative extrusion pressure and reduction of area, relative die length and constant friction factors were successfully calculated which was newly developed in this study. The results could be applied to design extrusion die.
