볼츠만 방정식에 의한 C3F8분자가스의 전리 및 부착 계수에 관한 연구 (The Character of Electron Ionization and Attachment Coefficients in Perfluoropropane(C3F8) Molecular Gas by the Boltzmann Equation)

  • CF₄ molecular gas is used in most of semiconductor manufacture processing and SF/sub 6/ molecular gas is widely used in industrial of insulation field. but both of gases have defect in global warming. C₃F/sub 8/ gas has large attachment cross-section more than these gases, moreover GWP, life-time and price of C₃F/sub 8/ gas is lower than them, therefor it is important to calculate transport coefficients of C₃F/sub 8/ gas like electron drift velocity, ionization coefficient, attachment coefficient, effective ionization coefficient and critical E/N. The aim of this study is to get these transport coefficients for imformation of the insulation strength and efficiency of etching process. In this paper, we calculated the electron drift velocity (W) in pure C₃F/sub 8/ molecular gas over the range of E/N=0.1∼250 Td at the temperature was 300 K and gas pressure was 1 Torr by the Boltzmann equation method. The results of this paper can be important data to present characteristic of gas for plasma etching and insulation, specially critical E/N is a data to evaluate insulation strength of a gas.

  • Recently, machine olfactory systems that have been proposed as an artificial substitute of the human olfactory system are being studied by many researchers because they can scent dangerous gases and identify the type of gases in contamination areas instead of the human. In this paper, we present an effective design method for the gas identification system. The design method adopted the sequential combination between genetic algorithms and TSK fuzzy logic system. First, the proposed method allowed the designed gas identification system effectively performing the pattern analysis because it was able to avoid the curse of dimensionality caused by use of a large number of sensors. Secondly, the method led the gas identification system to good performance because it was able to deal with drift characteristics of the sensor data by using description ability of the fuzzy system for nonlinear data. In simulation, we demonstrated the effectiveness of the designed gas identification system by using the simulation results of five types of gases.

Analysis on the dynamic characteristics of RAC frame structures

  • The dynamic tests of recycled aggregate concrete (RAC) are carried out, the rate-dependent mechanical models of RAC are proposed. The dynamic mechanical behaviors of RAC frame structure are investigated by adopting the numerical simulation method of the finite element. It is indicated that the lateral stiffness and the hysteresis loops of RAC frame structure obtained from the numerical simulation agree well with the test results, more so for the numerical simulation which is considered the strain rate effect than for the numerical simulation with strain rate excluded. The natural vibration frequency and the lateral stiffness increase with the increase of the strain rate. The dynamic model of the lateral stiffness is proposed, which is reasonably applied to describe the effect of the strain rate on the lateral stiffness of RAC frame structure. The effect of the strain rate on the structural deformation and capacity of RAC is analyzed. The analyses show that the inter-story drift decreases with the increase of the strain rate. However, with the increasing strain rate, the structural capacity increases. The dynamic models of the base shear coefficient and the overturning moment of RAC frame structure are developed. The dynamic models are important and can be used to evaluate the strength deterioration of RAC structure under dynamic loading.

  • 본 논문에서는 고전압과 고온에서 사용할 수 있는 SiC 기반의 LIGBT 구조를 제시한다. 낮은 전류 특성을 향상시키기 위해 Gate를 중심으로 대칭되는 Dual-Emitter가 삽입된 것이 특징이다. 제안된 소자의 특성 검증을 위하여 Sentaurus TCAD simulation을 이용하여 시뮬레이션을 진행하였고 일반적인 LIGBT와 비교 연구를 진행하였다. 뿐만 아니라, 소수캐리어에 의한 전기적 특성을 검증하기 위해 N-drift 영역의 길이에 대하여 변수를 지정하여 Split을 진행하였다. 시뮬레이션 분석 결과, 제안된 Dual-Emitter 구조는 기존의 LIGBT보다 동일한 전압에서 높은 전류가 흐르는 것을 확인하였다.

Experimental behaviour of circular concrete filled steel tube columns under lateral cyclic loading

  • This study experimentally explored the behaviour of 12 concrete filled steel tube (CFST) and steel tube columns subjected to lateral cyclic loading. The L/D ratio was 12.3 while D/t ratios were 45.4, 37.8 and 32.4, classifying these 12 specimens into 3 groups. Each group included 3 CFST and 1 steel tube columns and were tested to failure. The experimental results indicated that CFST specimens reached the state of 'collapse prevention' (drift 4%) prior to the occurrence of local buckling. Strength degradation of CFST specimens did not occur up to the failure by buckling. This showed the favourable characteristic of CFST columns in preventing collapse of structures subjected to earthquakes. The high energy absorption capability in the post collapse limit state was appropriate for dissipating energy in structures. Compared to steel tube columns, CFST columns delayed local buckling and prevented inward buckling. Consequently, CFST columns exhibited their outstanding seismic performance in terms of the increased ultimate resistance, capacity to sustain 2-3 additional load cycles and significantly higher drift. A simple and reasonably accurate model was proposed to predict the ultimate strength of CFST columns under lateral cyclic loading.

  • A fast response $CO_2$ analyzer has been developed for measuring the $CO_2$ concentration during transient condition of SI engine. The analyzer is based on the non-dispersive infrared absorption technique, electrical chopping system and water cooling system. The analyzer has good repeatability, linearity and permissible drift characteristic. Besides, it has 18ms with a response to measure the $CO_2$ concentration. The fast response $CO_2$ analyzer was applied to single cylinder SI engine and the $CO_2$ emission was examined during engine start. Simultaneously, the standard exhaust gas analyzer, which has slow response time, was used for considering the engine-out $CO_2$ characteristic. The developed analyzer showed much faster responsive characteristic than that of a standard analyzer and made cycle by cycle exhaust gas analysis possible. The transient engine operating characteristics will be estimated and the transient behaviors on engine-out emission and performance will be improved.

두 개의 P-플로팅 층을 가지는 새로운 IGBT에 관한 연구 (A Novel IGBT with Double P-floating layers)

  • Insulated Gate Bipolar Transistor(IGBTs) are widely used in power device industry. However, to improve the breakdown voltage, IGBTs are suffered from increasing on-state voltage drop due to structural design. In this paper, the new structure is proposed to solve this problem. The proposed structure has double p-floating layer inserted in n-drift layer. The p-floating layers improve the breakdown voltage compared to conventional IGBT without change of other electrical characteristics such as on-state voltage drop and threshold voltage. this is because the p-floating layers expand electric field distribution at blocking state. A electrical characteristic of proposed structure is analyzed by using simulators such as TSUPREM and MEDICI. As a result, on-state voltage drop and threshold voltage are same to a conventional TIGBT, but breakdown voltage is improved to 16%.

  • The electron transport coefficients, the electron drift velocity W, the longitudinal diffusion coefficient $ND_L$ and $D_L/\mu$, in pure Ne were calculated over the wide E/N range from 0.01 to 800 Td at 1 Torr by two-term approximation of the Boltzmann equation for determination of electron collision cross sections set and for quantitative characteristic analysis of Ne molecular gas.

  • This study was conducted to find design factors of spraying device of the boom sprayer for low volume application. Four types of nozzles(standard flat nozzle, drift guard nozzle, even flat nozzle, and hollow cone nozzle) were used for the spray characteristic experiment. Spray patterns of the nozzles were distinguished by the nozzle type, spray distance, and spray direction. The flow rate was proportional to the square root of spray pressure in all nozzles. Increased nozzle height improved spray distribution at reduced pressures and/or increased spacing. Distribution tended to improve as pressure increased within the range of pressures used for fan nozzles.
