A Study on Automatic Return Dragging Detector with Real-time Data Transmission (실시간 데이터 전송이 가능한 자동 복귀형 끌림 물체 검지장치 연구)

  • Recently, an expansion of safety facilities has been widely applied to effectively manage the safety of train operation due to increase of the high-speed section of the general railway and the introduction of high-speed train. Accordingly, performance improvement, upgrading and high reliability of existing safety devices are required. the dragging detector, one of the safety devices, is an analogue system that consists of closed circuit with an electric current flows and operates when the closed circuit is opened by the impact of the dragging object. Such method has unreasonable problem that should be replaced after being detected. It is need to replace with an automatic return type dragging detector which is easy to maintain. In addition, it is necessary to develop a dragging detector that applicable to general railway and urban railway including high-speed railway, in accordance with the speeding up and densification of trains, although it is currently applied only to high-speed railway. In this paper, we propose an automatic return type dragging detector which has versatility and excellent maintainability with digital sensor and real time monitoring.

Review of the Role of Dragging in Dynamic Geometry Environments (역동기하 환경에서 "끌기(dragging)"의 역할에 대한 고찰)

  • The purpose of this study is to review the role of dragging in dynamic geometry environments. Dragging is a kind of dynamic representations that dynamically change geometric figures and enable to search invariances of figures and relationships among them. In this study dragging in dynamic geometry environments is divided by three perspectives: dynamic representations, instrumented actions, and affordance. Following this review, six conclusions are suggested for future research and for teaching and learning geometry in school geometry as well: students' epistemological change of basic geometry concepts by dragging, the possibilities to converting paper-and-pencil geometry into experimental mathematics, the role of dragging between conjecturing and proving, geometry learning process according to the instrumental genesis perspective, patterns of communication or discourse generated by dragging, and the role of measuring function as an affordance of DGS.

  • Vessels on anchoring are frequently dragged due to the increased area of wind pressure by enlargement of ship's size and sudden gust of winds in recent years. In the view point of the ship's navigators, the proper measurements corresponding to the dragging of anchor should be taken into account concerned about the time for the occurring of dragging by the external forces such as wind and wave, the pattern and speed of dragging and the possibility of collisions with any other vessels or obstacles. In this paper, it was examined the actual dragging anchor in T.S. HANBADA due to the wind and waves. From this case, it was found the critical external forces by which she was begun to dragged comparing the force by the wind, frictional resistance, drifting force and ship motion moment with the holding power. Also, through the analysis of the dragging pattern, it was known the alteration range of heading angle, swinging width and dragging speed etc.

Analysis of Creep Effective Stress in Austenitic Heat Resistant Steel (오스테나이트계 내열강의 크리프 유효응력 해석)

  • This paper describes the comparison of calculated effective stress with experimental one in austenitic heat resistant steels, STS310J1TB and STS310S with and without a small amount of Nb and N. Based on a solute atoms diffusion model, contribution from soluble nitrogen to the high-temperature strength was numerically examined for austenitic heat-resisting Fe-Cr-Ni-N(STS310J1TB) and Fe-Cr-Ni (STS310S) alloys. The solute atmosphere dragging stress of dislocation was calculated in optional dislocation velocity of STS310J1TB and STS310S at $650^{\circ}C$, $675^{\circ}C$ and $700^{\circ}C$. As a result of the numerical calculation, the solute atmosphere dragging stress of STS310J1TB was about 50 times larger than that of STS310S. When the temperature became high, the maximum value of solute atmosphere dragging stress was small and the velocity of moving dislocation was fast. From the relationship between the dislocation rate and the solute atmosphere dragging stress, the relation of both was proportional and the inclination is about 1 in the level with low velocity of moving dislocation. From above results, the mechanism of dislocation movement in STS310J1TB was the solute atmosphere dragging stress. The solute atmosphere dragging stress, which was calculated from the numerical calculation was close to the effect stress in stress relaxation tests.

Students' Mathematical Reasoning Emerging through Dragging Activities in Open-Ended Geometry Problems (개방형 기하 문제에서 학생의 드래깅 활동을 통해 나타난 수학적 추론 분석)

  • In the present study, we analyze the four participating 9th grade students' mathematical reasoning processes in their dragging activities while solving open-ended geometry problems in terms of abduction, induction and deduction. The results of the analysis are as follows. First, the students utilized 'abduction' to adopt their hypotheses, 'induction' to generalize them by examining various cases and 'deduction' to provide warrants for the hypotheses. Secondly, in the abduction process, 'wandering dragging' and 'guided dragging' seemed to help the students formulate their hypotheses, and in the induction process, 'dragging test' was mainly used to confirm the hypotheses. Despite of the emerging mathematical reasoning via their dragging activities, several difficulties were identified in their solving processes such as misunderstanding shapes as fixed figures, not easily recognizing the concept of dependency or path, not smoothly proceeding from probabilistic reasoning to deduction, and trapping into circular logic.

Analyses of the Maximum Response of Cylinders-Connected Protector under Anchor Colliding and Dragging (앵커 충돌 및 끌림에 의한 원통연결 보호구조물의 최대 응답 해석)

  • This study presents the results of collision and lift analyses of a cylinders-connected protector under stock anchor colliding and dragging. For the analyses, the terminal velocity of the stock anchor was obtained first, and, then, the velocity was used to calculate the falling distance of the stock anchor in air. In addition, two other falling distances were considered for purposes of comparison. From the finite element analyses, using ANSYS, the maximum responses obtained from the stock anchor colliding and dragging were obtained and compared for different collision distances (3, 5, and 8.83 m) and dragging angles (0, 30, 60, $90^{\circ}$). Then, the maximum displacements and stresses were discussed, along with the strength and dimensions of the protector. Finally, conclusions were made for the maximum responses.

  • In succession to previous study(A Study on the Limit of Anchor Dragging for Ship at Anchor sim I), the experiment of anchor dragging by ship handling simulator was performed to investigate the anchoring stability of ship at anchor in this study. The purpose of this experiment is to check the behavior charateristics of ship being dragged and the limit of anchor dragging for ship at anchor. A small tanker ship, which had been anchored in Jinhae Bay when the typhoon MAEMI passed on September 2003, was chosen as model ship for the experiment of anchor dragging and the result of experiment was confirmed to be very similar to the result of theoretical review and field report.

The Development of the Anchor Dragging Risk Assessment Program (선박 주묘 위험성 판별 프로그램 개발에 관한 연구)

  • Marine accidents caused by dragging anchors occur constantly due to enlargement of ships' size and unusual weather conditions. Nevertheless, vessel operators rely on their experience because the calculations of actual holding power and external forces are complex and inconvenient. The purpose of this study was to propose a program for the anchor dragging risk assessment in order to provide crew and VTSO with the information to determine easily the danger of dragging and take appropriate action. The input data in this program were composed of the ship's basic particulars, anchoring condition, and external environment etc. on calculating for the wind pressure, frictional force, drift force, and holding power. Three dragging anchor accidents were applied to the program's data input at the time of the day, then the result was assessed by 'warning', which was verified with a high confidence. As a result, the risk of dragging anchors can be predicted in advance through this program. In further studies, it is necessary to simplify the input data and improve user convenience through automatic input from various equipment.
