The clinical, investigative, and surgical experiences were reviewed in four patients with congenitally corrected transposition of the great arteries who presented to the National Medical Center between August 1983 and August 1985. This condition is very rare congenital anomaly defined as the combination of atrioventricular discordance and transposition of the great arteries. Examples of primitive [single] ventricle inverted [that is, left sided in situs solitus] with outflow chamber were excluded in this paper. According to the sequential arrangement of the hearts there were two cases of [S,L,L] and two cases of [I,D,D]. The surgical approach should be focused on minimizing the risk of heart block and increasing the degree of relief of pulmonary outflow tract obstruction [POTO]. We experienced complete heart block in two cases of [S,L,L] and significant residual POTO in one case of [S,L,L] and one case of [I,D,D] postoperatively. There were one hospital mortality caused by complete heart block and residual POTO and two delayed mortalities caused by congestive heart failure and sepsis respectively.

Recently, direct atriopulmonary anastomosis was performed in 2 patients without using pericardium or prosthetic material. Case 1 A 13-year-old male patient whose diagnosis was tricuspid atresia [type lb] received direct atriopulmonary anastomosis successfully with good clinical and hemodynamic results. Nine months after operation, he has an increased exercise tolerance. Case 2 A 4-year-old female patient whose diagnosis was DORV with pulmonary atresia in A-V discordance had a formidable surgical challenge. A large-diameter direct atriopulmonary anastomosis was performed after the closure of the right atrioventricular valve. Her postoperative course has been even in 20th postoperative day.

In this paper, we perform a simulation study of genetic model-free age-of-onset methods in linkage tests which has been proposed by Zhu et al. (1997). They performe. Haseman-Elston regression on a set of bipolar pedigree data using each of three dependent variables: a binary trait indicating disease concordance or discordance, a binary trait adjusted for age-of-onset, and the residuals from a survival analysis. We compare the powers of the proposed test statistics for various situations. Simulations that we have carried out show that the gains in power are observed when the residuals from a survival analysis are used in linkage tests.

ICAO(International Civil Aviation Organization) established ICAO LPRs(Language Proficiency Requirements) which is an international standard of English for aviation to promote the aviation safety. The Republic of Korea government amended the aviation law on the 8th of November, 2005 and made EPTA(English Proficiency Test for Aviation) as a follow up action. Purpose of this research is analysing the problem of EPTA and improving it. This investigation takes a look at the current ICAO LPRs and compares the difference between EPTA and other global English proficiency requirements for aviation. The result indicated that there is a discordance between the standards of ICAO and EPTA. Also, the global English proficiency reqirements for aviation and EPTA had differences which required improvements. The study suggests to replace more job relevant questions in the EPTA and reform the level system of EPTA.

Two Fructus Jujubae & three Rhizoma Zingiberis Rencns are usually used in parts of prescriptions in oriental medicine. In "Dongeuibogam", those are prescribed as drugs. However, those are not exactly same with original books, which "Dongeuibogam" had quoted. In original books, those are sometimes mentioned just as 'Fructus Jujubae & Rhizoma Zingiberis' or different amount of them. Therefore, authors try to compare with "Dongeuibogam" and its original books to find out the reason of discordance. As a result, we could conclude that Two jujubes & three pieces of ginger are more commonly prescribed than original books and are fixed to use more conveniently and to give standard for doctor.

The fault location is obtained from the distance relay that detects the fault of the transmission line. In this time, transmission line crews track down the fault location and the reasons. However, because of having error at the fault location of the distance relay, there is a discordance between real and obtained fault location. As this reason, the inspection time for finding fault location can be longer. In this paper, we proposed the statistical (regression) analysis method based on each type of relay's the historical fault location data and the real fault distance data to improve the problems. With finding the regression equation based on the regression analysis, and putting the relay fault location into that equation, the real fault distance is calculated. As a result of the Prediction fault location, the inspection time of transmission line can be reduced.

Forty-five patients with double-outlet right ventricle[DORV] underwent complete intracardiac repair between July, 1983 and June, 1989. Patients with complete atrioventricular canal, atrioventricular discordance and uni-ventricular heart were excluded. The 32 male and 13 female patients ranged in age from 3 months to 15 years[mean 4 years]. Thirty-two patients had pulmonary stenosis. The early mortality was 11.ltd[5 /45] None of 27 died after a completely intraventricular repair. The mortality was 20%[1/5] for repair using transannular patch, 20% [1/5] for REV operation, 33.3%[1/3] for repair including extracardiac valved conduit, and 50% [1/2] for Jatene operation, respectively. Two modified Fontan procedures were performed without mortality. One died after Senning operation. Causes of early deaths included high residual right ventricular pressure[one patient] small left atrial and left ventricular volume[one patient], persisting severe pulmonary hypertension [one patient] and low cardiac output of unknown cause [two patients]. Complete heart block developed in one patient. Two late deaths occurred among the 40 operative survivors [5.0Po] from persisting severe pulmonary hypertension and bleeding at reoperation. Our results indicate that significant defects can be repaired with low mortality and morbidity.

Tic disorders, including Tourette syndrome, are known as neurobiologic disorders and as such, much emphasis has been placed on isolating genetic determinants. Although previous reports involving studies of discordance among monozygotic twins have shown the importance of genetic predisposition, they have also supported a role for environmental factors in the development of tic disorders. Therefore, it is important to consider that both genetic and environmental factors contribute to their clinical expression. The goal of this article was to review recent reports regarding the role of environmental factors in development and progression of tics. Specific environmental factors associated either with a more severe course of illness or improved outcomes were discussed. Given that accumulating evidence had suggested the usefulness of behavior therapies in the suppression of tic disorders, particular emphasis was placed on the impact of several contextual factors.

Evaluation of the structural analysis for a 70/15 ton${\times}$105 m LLC (Level Luffing Crane) was conducted with an FEM Tool. Due to a discordance of the modeling and element type, the LLC was progressively analyzed after dividing it into the boom, main structure and rocker. All loads such as slewing, traveling and wind load, etc., that are indicated in the reference standards, were inputted as various severe conditions of the LLC. The deformation, equivalent stress(Von Mises stress), buckling characteristics were evaluated for the LLC structures. The stress concentrated areas over the allowable stress were identified, and reinforcement work was performed with a stiffener.
