Out of 200 subjects, 104 (52.0%) were males and 96 (48.0%) were females. Their average age was 46.60. For education level, a majority of males graduated from college, whereas a majority of females graduated from high school. Average combined ratios of overweight and obese were 62.5% for males and 25% for females. A majority worked less than 3 years in the dining business area, but 37% of subjects worked more than 10 years. Average health level was favorable, but 38.9% of subjects had hypertension. Males' percentages for smoking and drinking were higher than those of females. Regular physical activity was high, but regular exercise rate was low. Males' average eating speed was faster than that of females and had low scores for desirable eating habits. The study shows that local business owners need to take care of their health.
This study investigates the effect of adolescent dining habits on their physical development. We selected 200 students from the three high schools in Taejon, and surveyed with a questionnaire and collected data concerning physique from school health records. The results obtained from this study were as follows: 1. A point of intersection of two development trends of male and female students' heights was between sixth grade of elementary school and first grade of middle school. Two development trends of weights didn't have a point of intersection and male students' development trend of weights was a little higher than that of female students. 2. There were significant differences in the weight and BMI of male students. The 'regular dining' group had heavier weight and higher BMI than the other group, and the 'Eating only favorite food' group had lower weight and BMI than the other group. In female, heights of 'three meals a day' group were higher than that of 'two meals a day' group and the more snacks per day, the higher students' height was. 3. The 'regular exercise' group had significantly heavier weight and higher BMI than the other group amount females. 4. 'Regular dining' and 'Eating habits' had a positive linear relationship with male students' weight and BMI. 'Number of times of snacking' has a positive linear relationships with female students' height and a negative linear relationship with female students' BMI. Since dining habits of adolescents have not only an effect on their development but also later adults' health, to develop good habits of health and dining is a critical issue.

The subjects were selected (n = 6217) from those who participated in the 2008 Korean National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (KNHANES IV). The subjects were divided into the depressed (DG, n = 841) and normal groups (NG, n = 3969). DG was those who have depression now or who have experienced depressing feelings more than two weeks or per year. The general characteristics, anthropometric measurement, eating habits, the dietary guideline recognition and practices were compared by using chi-square test and t-test. Also the partial correlations were analyzed by SAS (Statistical analysis system, version 9.1) program. There was a significantly higher rate of DG among the female (74.32%), with low education (44.6%) and low-income (32.0%) subjects (p < 0.001). DG showed significantly lower snacking and dining out. There was significantly higher rate of DG who responded "none" in frequency of snack (27.10%) and dining out (29.50%) (p < 0.001). Also DG showed significantly lower rate of the subjects who ate with the family than NG. Also, DG showed significantly lower dietary guideline recognition level and practice than NG. Correlation between depression symptom and various factors showed that positive correlation with low snack intake and dining out frequencies. However, correlation was relatively weak. In conclusion, eating habits and recognition levels and practice of dietary guidelines of DG were significantly different from NG. DG showed significantly lower frequencies of snack, dining out, and eating with family.
For the purpose of encouraging healthy eating habits, this study surveyed 282 male and female university students in Busan to investigate the relationships between dining-out activities, eating habits, and the frequency of fast food intake and obesity. To confirm this, SPSS statistical programme 14.0 has been used to carry out the frequency analysis, fact and reliability analysis, $x^2$-test, t-test and the correlation analysis. As a result, it has been found that there is a correlation under p<0.01 between obesity and the habit of frequently eating unhealthy food, and there is a correlation under p<0.01 between obesity and the habit of frequently fast foods. Meanwhile, there is a correlation under p<0.05 between obesity and regular eating habits. Therefore, it has been concluded that there is a correlation between the obesity and eating habits as well as the frequency of fast food intake among the university students.

In this paper, Korean's dining-out behaviors were compared and investigated according to gender and age. The change and the problem of dietary pattern in Korea were understood and we intend to provide the basic information for guidelines of Korean's dietary habits. The subjects are composed of 46.5% male and 53.5% female. According to age, groups aged $10{\sim}19$ are 26.3%, 20's are 24.6%, 30's are 16.8%, 40's are 18.7%, and 50 and over age group is 13.6%. All of the age groups ate out for celebration of a special day or for social purposes. When dining-out, the most important criteria for selecting a restaurant was the taste of food. All age groups liked Korean-style restaurants the most. All age group eat a house meal at breakfast. At lunch, age groups 40 and below go to a restaurant in school or company and 50 and over age group eats house meal. In general, all age groups ate a house meal at dinner. At breakfast, all the age groups do not eat out. For lunch, they eat out four or five times a week. For dinner, the most of age groups except the 20's eat out two or three times a month and for the 20's age group, two or three times a week. The reason for selecting a Korean-style restaurant is that the food is 'well matched with one's appetite'. According to the above results, the dietary habits of 30 and over age groups are relatively good. On the other hand, in 10's and 20's age groups, they have an irregular meal and the ratio of skipping a meal is high. And they frequently use fast-food restaurants. In the future, the unbalance of nutrition in these age groups is expected. Therefore, the correct nutritional facts should be educated so that these age groups have a healthy dietary habit.

Eating habits explained 13.1% of die total variance in the importance of restaurant atmosphere and location.
