As part of the DIGIT key program, we observed GSS30-IRS1, a Class I object located in Ophiuchus (d=125 pc), with Herschel-PACS. More than 70 lines were detected in 50-200 micron band including CO, OH, H2O, and [OI]. All lines, except for [OI], were detected only at the central spaxel of $9.4^{{\prime}{\prime}}{\times}9.4^{{\prime}{\prime}}$ while the [OI] emission is extended along the NE-SW direction. One interesting feature in GSS30-IRS1 is that the continuum is extended beyond PSF, unlike line emission. It suggests that the external heating is important in GSS30-IRS1. For detail analysis of line fluxes, we apply the non-LTE LVG model, RADEX as well as simple rotational diagrams. We also use the Monte Carlo radiative transfer package, RADMC-3D to understand the heating mechanism of dust grains around GSS30-IRS1. We will discuss about heating and cooling processes associated with GSS30-IRS1.

Cellulose based Electroactive Paper (EAPap) has been developed as a new smart material due to its advantages of piezoelectricity, large displacement, low power consumption, low cost and flexibility. EAPap can be used fur a surface acoustic wave (SAW) device using the piezoelectric property of EAPap, resulting in the cost effective and flexible SAW device. In this paper, inter digit transducer (IDT) structure using lift-off technique with a finger gap of $10{\mu}m$ was used for micro fabrication of the cellulose EAPap SAW devices. The performance of IDT patterned SAW device was characterized by a Network Analyzer. The feasibility of cellulose EAPap as a potential acoustic device was presented and explained.

DNA computing-inspired pattern classification based on the hypernetwork model is a novel approach to pattern classification problems. The hypernetwork model has been shown to be a powerful tool for multi-class data analysis. However, the ordinary hypernetwork model has limitations, such as operating sequentially only. In this paper, we propose a efficient implementing method of DNA computing-inspired pattern classifier using GPU. We show simulation results of multi-class pattern classification from hand-written digit data, DNA microarray data and 8 category scene data for performance evaluation. and we also compare of operation time of the proposed DNA computing-inspired pattern classifier on each operating environments such as CPU and GPU. Experiment results show competitive diagnosis results over other conventional machine learning algorithms. We could confirm the proposed DNA computing-inspired pattern classifier, designed on GPU using CUDA platform, which is suitable for multi-class data classification. And its operating speed is fast enough to comply point-of-care diagnostic purpose and real-time scene categorization and hand-written digit data classification.

One of the most important problems in speech recognition is to detect the presence of speech in adverse environments. In other words, the accurate detection of speech boundary is critical to the performance of speech recognition. Furthermore the speech detection problem becomes severer when recognition systems are used over the telephone network, especially wireless network and noisy environment. Therefore this paper describes various speech detection algorithms for continuous digit recognition system used over wire/wireless telephone networks and we propose a algorithm in order to improve the robustness of speech detection using useful band selection under noisy telephone networks. In this paper, we compare some speech detection algorithms with the proposed one, and present experimental results done with various SNRs. The results show that the new algorithm outperforms the other speech detection methods.
In this paper, a method of constructing an advanced sequential circuit over finite fields is proposed. The method proposed an algorithm for assigning all elements of finite fields to digital code from the properties of finite fields, discussed the operating characteristics of T-gate used to construct sequential digital system of finite fields, and based on this, formed sequential circuit without trajectory. For this purpose, the state transition diagram was allocated to the state dependency code and a whole table was drawn showing the relationship between the status function and the current state and the previous state. The following status functions were derived from the status function and the preceding table, and the T-gate and the device were used to construct the sequential circuit. It was confirmed that the proposed method was able to organize sequential digital systems effectively and systematically.

In this paper, data-driven temporal filter methods[1] are investigated for robust feature extraction. A principal component analysis technique is applied to the time trajectories of feature sequences of training speech data to get appropriate temporal filters. We did recognition experiments on the Korean connected digit telephone speech database released by SITEC, with data-driven temporal filters. Experimental results are discussed with our findings.
The performance of a speech recognition system is generally degraded in telephone environment because of distortions caused by background noise and various channel characteristics. In this paper, data-driven temporal filters are investigated to improve the performance of a specific recognition task such as telephone speech. Three different temporal filtering methods are presented with recognition results for Korean connected-digit telephone speech. Filter coefficients are derived from the cepstral domain feature vectors using the principal component analysis. According to experimental results, the proposed temporal filtering method has shown slightly better performance than the previous ones.

In order to display magnetic signals obtained from a magneto-resistance sensor, a direct current magnetometer was designed and its circuit was constructed. The magnetic fields measured by the home-made magnetometer, which showed good functions of automatic ranging, analog output, and vector sensing, were well agreed with those by commercial MAG-01 magnetometer. The measurement range of the magnetometer was $1\;{\mu}T$ to 1.999 mT, the resolution was -132 dB within 1 Hz bandwidth and the measured magnetic fields could be displayed with $3{\cdot}1/2$-digit LED.

In this study, optimizing BPOFs are encoded by Simulated Annealing algorithm that is widely used among the optimization algorithms. Two BPOFs are trained by digit patterns, 0~9, and the digits each having 4 intraclass patterns are multiplexed. When each digit is encoded by four bit binary code, from the results of computer simulation, the correlation pezk is shown at binary value 1 position among the spatially separated four positions at the correlation plane And then, the designed BPOFs are implemented by CGH technique. Through the optical correlation experiment, satisactory results are achieved, inspite of some experimental errors and information loss owing to the amplitude type CGH filter.
