A Literature Review for an Emotion Evaluation Protocols Based on Skin Temperature for Home Appliances (피부온을 기반으로 한 가전제품의 감성 평가 프로토콜 수립을 위한 문헌 조사)

  • This study reviews studies that used skin temperature in order to establish an emotion evaluation protocol based on skin temperature for home appliances. A survey of skin temperature evaluation papers was conducted by the following five stages: (1) keyword search, (2) title screening, (3) abstract screening, (4) full paper screening, and (5) relevance evaluation. Selected papers were reviewed for: purpose, recruitment criteria of participants, the number of participants, apparatus, procedure, measures, analysis methods, and major findings. Thermistor sensors and thermography are used for the measurement of skin temperature. Skin temperature sensors are attached to 4 - 10 locations on the body and their mean of skin temperature is calculated by Ramanatan's 4-point or Hardy & Dubois's 7-point method. Semantic differential (SD) method and thermography measuring facial surface temperature have been used for emotion evaluation. The SD method provides a set of adjective pairs related to a product and evaluates changes in emotion from the use of the product. The range of facial surface analyzed is defined in the thermal image and temperature changes before and after the evaluation are analyzed. The evaluation items of home appliances include form, color, material, aesthetics, satisfaction, novelty, convenience, pleasantness, and excellence. Many existing emotion studies using skin temperature do not apply physiological and psychological methods. This study provides basic data to establish a skin temperature and emotion evaluation protocol by examining literature for skin temperature and evaluation of sensitivity.

  • Fishman and Larson (1987) derived tropical tropospheric column ozone by subtracting stratospheric column ozone measured by the Stratospheric Aerosol and Gas Experiment (SAGE) from total column ozone obtained by the Total Ozone Mapping Spectrometer (TOMS). Later, the Convective Cloud Differential (CCD) method (Ziemke et al., 1998) indicated stratospheric ozone is invariant with longitude and concluded the zonal variation of total ozone determines the zonal variation of tropospheric ozone.   • $^{18}F-FDG$ PET showed a high sensitivity and specificity in the initial staging of malignant melanoma, and it also predicted the prognosis correctly. In addition, it had a higher sensitivity and specificity in the detection of recurrence and restaging than conventional imaging modalities. Meanwhile, there's less clinical evidence to support the use of $^{18}F-FDG$ PET in the response evaluation for chemotherapy and the diagnosis/differential diagnosis of malignant melanoma.

  • $^{18}F-FDG$ PET has a higher diagnostic accuracy than a in initial staging of testicular cancer. In seminoma, it can discriminate residual tumor from necrosis/fibrosis or mature teratoma. $^{18}F-FDG$ PET is also useful for the response evaluation of chemotherapy. However, there's no clinical evidence for the use of $^{18}F-FDG$ PET in the diagnosis and differential diagnosis of testicular cancer.

  • We present a fast/parallel Poisson solver on disks, based on efficient evaluation of the exact solution given by the Newtonian potential and the Poisson integral. Derived from an integral formula-tion it is more accurate and simpler in parallel implementation and in upgrading to a higher order algorithm than an algorithm which solves the linear system obtained from a differential formulation.

  • Before resin composites can serve as durable substitutes for amalgam restorations, the adhesive system used to retain them and add to seal dentin must be improved. The recent observations, using the newly developed LVDT (linear variable differential transformer) probe, that all commercial bonding systems cause a collapse of the demineralized dentin matrix, simulated a re-evaluation of the effects of these formulations on the matrix. The experiment was begun by examining solvents such as water-HEMA mixtures. These produced the same shrinkages as did the complete formulations.(omitted)

  • Non-verbal information plays an important role not only in human-to-human communications but also in human computer interaction. In this paper, we examine effects of human-like agent's primitive movements on user's impression, where the human-like agent's primitive movements include eye, mouth, and head. SD (Semantic Differential) method was used for evaluation, and two factors were extracted as a result of the factor analysis. It is found that the first factor influenced the user's impression particularly.

  • The performances of M-ary signals using L-branch maximum ratio combining (MRC) diversity reception in correlated Nakagami fading channels are derived theoretically. The coherent reception of M-ary differential phase shift keying (MDPSK), phase shift keying (MPSK), and quadrature amplitude modulation (MQAM) is considered. It is assumed that the fading parameters in each diversity branch are identical. The general formula for evaluating symbol error rate (SER) of M-ary signals in the independent branch diversity system is presented using the integral-form expressions.

  • 데이터웨어하우스내에서 실체뷰는 소스 데이터에서 갱신이 발생하였을 경우 질의에 정확한 결과를 제공하기 위하여 릴레이션의 변경사항과 동일하게 갱신되어야 한다. 이 뷰를 갱신할 때 전체 릴레이션이 아닌 갱신된 부분만 이용하여 점진적으로 뷰를 관리하는 것이 효과적이다. 뷰의 점진적인 갱신 방법중에서 부가화일을 이용한 방법은 부가적으로 유지하는 정보의 양이 적고 뷰 관리 비용이 적게 든다는 장점이 있다. 이 논문에서는 이 방법에 의해 뷰를 관리할 때의성능을 평가하기 위하여 이 방법의 비용 모델을 분석적으로 제시하였으며, 이 모델을 기반으로 성능을 비교, 분석하여 부가 파일을 이용한 방법이 다른 기존의 방법보다 성능이 우수함을 보였다.
