This program was designed based on literature review and a survey of students' preference on subjects concerned with dating and premarital education. The program consisted of three sessions which were ‘Are men & women different\ulcorner’, ‘How are they different\ulcorner’, and ‘How can we cope with the differences\ulcorner’. Questionnaires and pre/post interviews were adopted for evaluation of the program. Participants reported that they were satisfied with the structure of the program as well as the teaching methods and materials. The program was effective in recognizing the existence of gender differences, understanding gender differences, and improving skills to maintain intimacy in dating relationships.

  • The purposes of this study was : 1) to describe the theoretical background of Clean-up Time Movement managing visitors' depreciative behavior ; 2) to test the effectiveness of a mass communication program, Clean-up Time Movement in National Park. This study employed a field experimental design (Multiple time-series design) in Naejangsan National Park. This study evaluated the differential effectiveness of the self-developed Clean-up Time Movement Program to reduce littering behavior between Control groups (Those who not received Clean-up Time Program) and Treatment groups (Those who received Clean-up Time Program) by weighting trash gathered in a litter box and scattered around picnic ground. The results showed that the Clean-up Time Movement Program was more effective to reduce the total trash and the trash degree per a person in Treatment groups than Control groups. It seemed to effective in managing depreciative behavior through the mass communication program in National Park.

  • The purpose of this study is to examine the effects of creative thinking activities and scientific attitude through the use of storytelling in the STEAM program for elementary students. For the purpose of this study, a teaching plan and worksheet for students using storytelling in STEAM was developed and applied. The results of this study are as follows: First, the change in students' creative thinking activities by applying the STEAM program using storytelling has statistically meaningful difference (p<.05). Second, the improvement in the scientific attitude score has statistically meaningful difference(p<.05). Third, according to the analysis of a questionnaire used to evaluate the program, students had a positive perception of the STEAM program and gained higher level of satisfaction about the lesson. Therefore, using storytelling STEAM program applied in this study might be useful to improve creative thinking activities, and can be expected to improve scientific attitude and should be widely applied to gifted education.

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to develop and evaluate a transitional care program for patients discharged from military hospitals. The study consists of two phases: developing the program and evaluating its effectiveness. Methods: The conceptual framework used to guide the development of the program was Meleis's transition theory. A quasiexperimental design was employed for this study. Participants were recruited from patients discharged from one military hospital, 72 in the control group and 56 in the experiment group. Data were analyzed using SPSS WIN 12.0 program with chi-square, Fisher's exact test, independent t-test, and mixed model. Results: Participants in the transitional care program reported promoting a positive personal condition, and more healthy patterns of response in the first week after being discharged and a smoother discharge transition. Conclusion: The transitional care program developed for discharge patients from military hospital promoted discharge readiness and promoted smooth discharge transition.

  • The purpose of this study was to develop an Imaginary Audience Reduction Program and examine the effectiveness of using the program on improving female adolescents' self-esteem. Based on the results from the study, 10-session-Imaginary audience reduction program was developed. Then the researcher conducted the Imaginary Audience Reduction Program for 72 female adolescents from 4, May 2000 to 7, July 2000 at the girls'middle school in Daegu. For examining the effectiveness of using the program, the research instruments were Self-Esteem Inventory(SEI; Coopersmith, 1967) and New Imaginary Audience Scale(NIAS; Lapsley, FitzGerald, Rice & Jackson, 1989). The research instruments used for pre-post-follow up tests. The Data were analyzed by Repeated Measure ANOVA. There were statistically significant differences in self-esteem and Imaginary audience. Results revealed that adolescents who took the Imaginary Audience Reduction Program consistently reported the improvement of their self-esteem level and the reduction of their Imaginary audience level. The implication of study findings will be discussed.

  • In this paper, a systematic methodology is proposed for developing an outcome-based undergraduate Industrial and Systems Engineering Program at the Systems Engineering Department of King Fahd University of Petroleum & Minerals (KFUPM) in Saudi Arabia. This program is an upgrade of the Industrial Engineering and Operations Research (IE/OR) option, which has been in existence since 1984 and has been revised several times since then. The methodology and process used is motivated by the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET) 2000 criteria and has been employed to develop the program's objectives and outcomes. Subsequently, a curriculum is designed that is expected to deliver the objectives and outcomes. The paper presents the methodology, objectives, outcomes and the developed curriculum of the outcome-based program.

  • Nowadays, the development of microfluidic chip [i.e. biochip, micro-total analysis system ($\mu$-TAS) and LOC (lab-on-a-chip)] becomes more active, and the microchannels to deliver fluid by pressure or electroosmotic forces tend to be more complex like electronic circuits or networks. For a simple network of channels, we may calculate the pressure and the flow rate easily by using suitable formula. However, for complex network it is not handy to obtain such information with that simple way. For this reason, Graphic User Interface (GUI) program which can rapidly give required information should be necessary for microchip designers. In this paper, we present a GUI program developed in our laboratory and the simple theoretical formula used in the program. We applied our program to simple case and could get results compared well with other numerical results. Further, we applied our program to several complex cases and obtained reasonable results.

  • The purposes of this study were to investigate what kinds of idea the children have after formal instruction in school, and to investigate what is the children's conceptual change on electric current after implementation of drill and practice type CAI program about electric circuit. The CAI program was developed by KEDI research project team the author of this article was joined. The subjects were 20 eleven yaers old(elementary fifth year) children sampled from a elementary school in Seoul, Korea. They had already learnt about electric circuits for two years before implementing this CAI program according to the formal science curriculum. The pretest were accomplished before implementing the CAI program, and posttest were accomplished a week after implementation of the CAI program. The results of this study are as follows: Even though they had studied electric circuits, only 5% of the students had scientific ideas before pretest, and even after drill and practice type CAI program only 30% of the students have changed their misconceptions into scientific conceptions.
