The use of program formats has slowly but surely developed into an important component of the television industry. This article examines the surprising gap between the constantly growing, multi-billion-dollar trade of program formats and their unclear and contradictory legal treatment. From both the social and commercial standpoints, television formats are valuable creations. Understanding the two products, the paper and program stages, of a television format and their respective markets, is fundamental to discussions of its legal protection. Interestingly, under current law, the less-developed stages of the process (program ideas and paper formats) are awarded more protection than the aired program format, which accumulates higher levels of investment, creativity, and expression. Internal industry mechanisms, such as vertical integration, damage to reputation, and industry institutions, exist in both markets and are still able to control and influence members' behavior to some extent. However, while the influence of internal industry mechanisms is still strong in the paper format market, in the program format market, which continues to grow, such mechanisms have weakened, amplifying the importance of a clear legal system. The absence of protection will certainly not completely eliminate the production of new program formats. However, these factors do not add up to a case against protection. The changes in the program format market in the last two decades support the theory that the overall effect of providing legal protection for TV formats would promote beneficial competition and encourage more original creations. The underlying question for television formats should not be whether to protect but rather how.
Breast self-exam is easiest, safe and cost effective to be recommended as an important method for early detection of breast cancer. This experimental research with non-equal control design was to develop the efficacy expectation program for breast self-exam based on Bandura's self-efficacy information source. The study objects selected from two local churches in Busan. Twenty from S church were selected as a study group, twenty from D church as a control group. Efficacy expectation promoting program was based on Bandura's efficacy promoting source and was two hour lecture including slide, video tape, demonstration, pamphlet. After this, there were individual interviews with them and consultations through telephone f or verbal persuasion on the weekly basis between the first week and the fifth week. The effect from the experiment were measured on the first week after education and on the fifth week. Data from control group was collected during the period from Jan 11, 2 001 to Feb 15, 2001 and data from study group was collected during the period from Jan 12, 2001 to Feb 16, 2001. Measurement instrument for this study was developed by the author with the advice of specialist in order to measure self-efficacy and breast self-exam practice. Data analysis was done by using SPSS/10.0 PC program $with^2-$ test. t-test and ANCOVA. Proved results for hypothesis were as follows. 1) It was supported that "Study group educated by efficacy expectation promoting program has higher score in change rat e of self-efficacy than control group." (1 week after education F=18.395, p=.000 5 weeks after education F=28.972, p=.000) 2) It was supported that "Study group educated by efficacy expectation promoting program has higher score in change rate of exam practice than control group." (1 week after education F=37.984, p=.000 5 weeks after education F=28.972, p=.000) In conclusion, efficacy expectation promoting program for breast self-exam developed by this study may increase s elf-efficacy and breast self-exam practice.
Purpose: The purpose of this study was to evaluate the effect of an On-line health promotion program connected with a hospital health examination center. Methods: Based on contents developed, the www.kmwellbeing.comhomepagewas developed. The research design was a one group pretest-posttest design. Seventy-three clients participated in this study. The data were collected from January 3 to June 30, 2005. As a way of utilizing the homepage, this paper attempted to measure the change of pre and post program health promotion behavior and health status (perceived health status, objective health index-blood pressure, pulse, total cholesterol, blood sugar, waist flexibility, grip strength and lower extremity strength). Data were analyzed by descriptive statistics and paired t-test with the SPSS/Win 12.0 program. Results: There were significant differences of perceived health status, systolic BP, waist flexibility and grip strength. However, there were no significant differences in health promotion behavior, diastolic BP, pulse, lower extremity strength, blood sugar and total cholesterol between pre program and post program. Conclusion: It is expected that an on-line health promotion program connected with a hospital health examination center will provide an effective learning media for health education and partially contribute to client's health promotion. A strategy, however, is needed to facilitate the continuous use of the on-line health promotion program for adult clients.
Purpose: To examine the effect of the solution-focused group counseling program on the nursing students' problem-solving capacity. Methods: The research design was one-group pretest-posttest design in quasi-experimental research. The subjects were 16 sophomore nursing students being in K university located in D city, Korea. The period of this research was from January 9 to February 20, 2002, from January 10 to February 21, 2003. The group counseling program that was developed by Kim, Hyeon Mi (2001) on the basis of the fundamental principles of solution-focused therapy of de Shazer, et al. (1986) and the solution-focused group counseling process proposed by Selekman (1991), LaFountain, et al. (1996) and Metcalf (1998) was used after being modified and complemented for the nursing students. The group counseling was carried out six times for 120 minutes per week. The instruments used for this study were the Problem Solving Inventory developed by Heppner and Petersen (1982) and Scaling question. Collected data were analyzed by paired t-test with SPSS program. Results: 1) Problem solving capacity increased after solution-focused group counseling program, but a significant difference was not revealed(t=0.835, p=0.057). 2) The scores of self-confidence with the problem-solving were significantly increased when it was compared with the 1st and the 6th(t=3.587, p=0.001). Conclusion: It seems that the solution-focused group counseling program should be considered as an effective nursing intervention program for the nursing students by improving self-confidence with the problem-solving. As a results, this study suggests that the specific techniques used in the solution focused therapy should be applied actively in areas of counseling and communication training for the nursing students and nurses.
Korea is promoted STEAM education since 2011. Furthermore, in high school education, based on the in-depth elective course's teaching and learning contents of science. The STEAM program can improve students' competence because it encourages to self-directed learning through the vocational project performance. Therefore, in this study, we researched a design education program for the experience of fusion and complex design based on STEAM education concept. We developed an education program to design insulation wall systems using up-cycling concepts to increase energy efficiency. As a result, the characteristics of the fusion education and the theoretical study about the learner-centered education curriculum, the analysis of the high school curriculum, the STEAM elements, The program was revised and supplemented through consultation with STEAM experts. In addition, the developed program was applied to high school students, and each step were analyzed based on the educational method theory. The following results were obtained. First, this study presented a program to cope with the needs of high school intensive education. Second, it provided learning motivation by combining flipped-learning as a way to train STEAM education contents. Third, it is required to develop differentiated and continuous program development and data sharing Fourth, in order to operate and promote the future environment design STEAM school, it is necessary to expand educational programs for high school students in the region through linkage with various universities.

Purpose: The purpose of this study was to examine the effects of a program for rights advocacy on the level of human rights perception and self-esteem for those who are mentally ill. Methods: A quasi-experimental study using a nonequivalent control group pre-post test design was used. The data were collected from January 20 to March. 17, 2010. Forty one (23 in the experimental group and 19 in the control group) individuals participated in this study. The program was developed based on the education program for human rights developed by the Gyeonggi-do community mental health center in 2009. The program consisted of 8 sessions lasting 8 weeks. Results: There were no statistically significant differences in the demographic variables or the outcome variables between the two groups before the intervention. The level of human rights perception and self-esteem increased after the program in the experimental group but not significantly (t=1.87, p=.07; t=0.88, p=.384). Conclusion: Despite the fact that the program was not effective in increasing the level of human rights perception and self-esteem, the study was timely in that it suggests directions for those who develop rights advocacy programs for the mentally ill.
The purpose of this study was to investigate effects of nutrition education program and pamphlet for the lower grades elementary students focused on individual daily needed food exchange units using Food Exchange System. Program consisted of four lessons (40 min/lesson), "5 major nutrients & function", "6 food group and sources", "daily needed food exchange units for normal body weight", and "smart snack choice and exercise". Pamphlet as activity book was developed for the program. The subjects were 3rd grade elementary students (educated group, 31 vs. non-educated group, 31). Educated group were lessoned as group and/or individual. We examined the differences in nutrition knowledge, dietary attitudes, dietary intakes and satisfaction of the program and pamphlet. In educated group, there were positive improvements on nutrition knowledge score "function and foods of 5 nutrients" and on dietary attitudes "type of breakfast and snacks". In the evaluation of dietary intakes according to KDRI, there were positive improvements on intakes level of riboflavin, vit. C, folate, Ca, P, Fe and Zn in educated group. In satisfaction with the program and pamphlet, contents, font size, visual, figure, difficulty and program curriculum were over 2.90/3.0. It showed that the developed nutrition education program and pamphlet focused on individual daily needed food exchange units using Food Exchange System improved nutrition knowledge, dietary attitudes and nutrients intake level in the lower grades elementary students.
In this study, we have developed a 3-D visualization program that is helpful in the interpretation or comparisons of geologic and geophysical data, which have been acquired to understand the cause of ground subsidence in the residential area and to establish reinforcement strategy. The visualization program was developed under the Windows operating system for convenient use and easy understanding. It uses Visual C++ for the Graphic User Interface and the OpenGL for graphic handling. Since this program is user-friendly, even users who do not have the basic idea about GIS or CAD can get very useful information with this program. The applicability of the program has been verified by visualizing the real core log and resistivity tomography images obtained from the ground subsidence area. These results have shown that the program is very useful for comparisons of these two data for the interpretation of subsurface structures.
The purpose of this study is to develop play education programs based on the instructional systems development (ISD). To achieve the goal, play education programs for elementary school students were developed based on the ADDIE model. Internal researchers, teaching design experts, and subject matter expert reviewed, modified, and developed play and education programs having three modules: design and scheduling, making a model, and preparing an exhibition. Students set up a program to realize the play space they want through collaboration with their peers. The program was applied to fifth grade elementary school students in Chungju for verification of the play and education program. At the end of the play education program, the FGI was conducted on 13 students to measure the overall value of the play education program, including its sustainability. Through these processes, we drew the effects and implications of the play education program and presented future research directions of play education and projects for elementary school students.
The purpose of this study was to develop an ICT education program using films to understand and expand of the Interpersonal Caring Theory (ICT). The study was conducted from February 2020 to October 2020. The films were selected by analyzing 10 elements of ICT and the program was developed according to Kolb's Experience Learning Model. 11 experienced nurses participated in the pilot operation of the program and evaluated the validity of the films as experts. The films selected for the ICT education program included The Blind Side (Noticing), Babette's Feast (Participation), Good Will Hunting (Sharing), The King's Speech (Active-listening), The Cure (Companioning), Mr. Holland's Opus (Complimenting), Patch Adams (Comforting), The Shawshank Redemption (Hoping), Mission (Forgiving), The Throne (Accepting). The program consisted of a total of 12 sessions, and each session included discussion questions for the steps of the Experimental Learning Model. After the program was piloted, it was found that the selected films were considered appropriate (I-CVI=0.98) as a result of evaluating the feasibility of films selection according to ICT elements. The developed ICT education program using films can be used to enhance caring competencies of nurses and nursing college students.
