  • This study was developed the nutrition education program for kindergarten children and was evaluated its educational effect by 'Non-equivalent control group design'. Nutrition education program was developed on the basis of the concept which consisted of nutrition, nutrients, food handling, life cycle and social$.$psychological needs. And it was developed on the basis of the theme which consisted of kind of foods, relation between food and body, importance of food, food and sanitation, food and environment, Korean traditional food and good table manners. Subjects consisted of 157 kindergarten children, with 48 in control group and 109 in treatment group. All the subjects completed a pretest and a posttest and the posttest means between control and treatment group were compared. The control group had a adjusted posttest mean score of nutrition knowledge of 50.64 and the treatment group had that of 75.19 and the difference was significant(p<0.001). The control group had a adjusted posttest mean score of food attitude of 65.49 and the treatment group had that of 85.40 and the difference was significant(p<0.001). • Purpose: This study was aimed to develop frequently-used clinical scenarios and scoring rubrics to assess core basic nursing skills in adult health nursing clinical practice for clinical evaluation based on program learning outcomes (PO). Methods: This study was a methodological research combining focus group interviews and questionnaires to select and construct scenarios. Data were collected from clinical practitioners, adult health nursing professors, and new nurses from November, 2013 to April, 2014. The developed scenarios and rubrics were applied to nursing students by way of showing an example. Results: The 12 frequently-used clinical scenarios were developed. The proportion of the evaluation rubrics were 30% for clinical instructors where as 70% for college instructors. In order for students to achieve the important learning outcomes from the courses for clinical practice, four program outcomes (POs) were selected as well as a rubric for each POs was developed. Students who had situation-based clinical practices showed higher levels of satisfaction on mastery of core basic nursing skills and communication skills. Conclusion: This findings of the study suggested the strategies for complementing pitfalls in clinical setting and achieving PO during students' clinical practicum.

  • This paper investigates the multi-pass wet wire drawing process considering the slip between the wire and the capstan. The production of fine wire through multi-pass wet wire drawing process would be impossible without backtension. The backtension is affected by many process parameters, such as slip, dies reduction, coiling number of wire at the capstan, machine reduction, characteristic of lubricant etc. Up to date, die design and dies pass schedule of multi-pass wet wire drawing process have been performed by trial and error of expert in the industrial field. In this study, an analysis program which can perform the analysis and considering the effect of slip at each capstan was developed. The effects of many important parameters (drawing force, backtension force, needed power, slip rate, slip velocity rate etc.) on multi-pass wet wire drawing process can be predicted by this developed program. It is possible to obtain the important basic data which can be used in the pass schedule of multi-pass wet wire drawing process by using this developed program.

  • Aerodynamic performance and starting characteristic of wind turbine blade are important factors that determine the whole system as rated power, operating method, etc. Therefore, starting characteristic according to aerodynamic performance, wind speed and blade pitch angle should be examined while wind turbine blade is designed. In this study, the aerodynamic analysis program of 750㎾ class horizontal axis wind turbine blade was developed and to certify this program, the aerodynamic performance of the commercialized blade was analyzed with it. The analysis result was corresponding to the value presented from manufacturer. And the starting analysis program was developed on the basis of the developed aerodynamic analysis program and starting analysis was performed. As a result, it was confirmed that variable speed operation and variable pitch control are profitable to wind turbine used in low wind speed as our country.

  • The Main design parameters of ship HVAC systems are pressure drop and noise analysis of ducts. The Noise prediction for HVAC(Heating, Ventilating and Air Conditioning) systems are normally performed by empirical method suggested by NEBB(National Environmental Balancing Bureau, 1994), but NEBB's method is not suitable for the ship HVAC systems. In this paper, numerical analysis methods are used to develop a noise prediction method for the ship HVAC systems, especially for large ducts. To develop regression formula of attenuation of sound pressure level in large duct, Boundary Element Method(BEM) is used. Using dynamic loss coefficient which is suggested by ASHRAE fitting data base and numerical methods of HVAC noise analysis, integrated HVAC noise analysis of Program is developed. The developed program can present pressure drop and noise analysis of the ship HVAC systems. To verify the accuracy and convenience of the developed program, prediction of HVAC system for Semi-Submersible Drilling RIG is carried out and the results are compared with measurement of noise level during sea trial.

  • In this study, a user oriented CFD program for optimum design of a regenerative combustion furnace, REBURN was developed. For user's convenience, user friendly Graphic User Interface was made and the renumbering interface program was developed in order to directly input any generated mesh system from ICEM CFD/FEA. Also an automatic processing system for switching mode was developed. The program was verified through compahng with commercial CFD code about regenerative combustion furnace. Then, numerical simulation of real walking beam furnace used in real industry was performed and the parametric analysis was studied about the arrangement mode. As a results, the uniform temperature was appeared in the cross mode.

  • Generally, modeling procedure of cross section of composite rotor blade is complicated and time-consuming, because it is made up of various stiffeners and multiple layers of composite materials. For efficient modeling of cross section of composite rotor blade, a modeling program so called KSec2D, which provides a user friendly GUI, is developed by using a 2D modeling algorithm based on set operation. By the developed program KSec2D, a modeling of complicated cross section of rotor blade is carried out. Through the demonstration, the usefulness of developed program in modeling procedure of cross section of composite rotor blade is verified.

  • A simulation program is developed for analysing thermal networking process between the District heating and the CES(Community Energy Supply) systems. The effects of thermal networking on the District heating facilities previously being operated are implemented using mathematical correlations in terms of the fuel consumption and energy load such as heating and electricity. The operational characteristics according to the prime movers is modeled based on the materials of efficiency as a function of operational load. The unit energy load model is also developed extensively for several building types such as apartment complex, hotel, hospital, buildings for business and commercial use respectively. The specific features of the newly developed program in simulation of thermal networking process in district heating is described in terms of the reliability and the easiness for operating it etc.

  • Selecting optimal wind turbine generators for wind farm sites in the capacity factor point of view is performed in this study. A program to determine the best wind turbine generator for the maximum capacity factor for a site was developed. The program uses both the wind characteristics of the site of interest and the power curves of the wind turbines. The program developed was applied to find out optimal wind turbine generators of three different sites in complex terrain and successfully yielded the best site dependent wind turbine generators. It was also used to determine the best wind turbine generator of the wind farm currently operating in Korea and proved its usefulness. The program and methodology developed in this study considered to be very useful at the initial design stage of the wind farm to determine the best wind turbine generators for the site of interest.

  • A study of design and analysis for the POD type waterjet is conducted. The analysis and design of waterjet system are more difficult than that of conventional propulsor because waterjet is complicatedly composed of many parts which are impeller, stator, inlet, nozzle, etc. The streamline method is traditionally used in the design of pump whose characteristics are similar to those of waterjet. This streamline method, however, has some limitation in analysis of a viscous flow as well as the interaction of inlet part of hull. In the present study, the developed CFD program is applied to the analysis of POD type waterjet. The developed program is first validated by comparing the existed experimental results. The designed waterjet system is also analyzed by the developed CFD program and analyzed results show that the performance of the present POD type waterjet is above the requirement.
