For measuring general bacterial count and Escherichia coli count, the standard plate count was used to conduct a test on 113 cases of pork carcass surfaces from slaughterhouses in Incheon area from January to February 2003. And Salmonella spp, Staphylococcus aureus and Listeria monocytogenes was used to conduct a test on 68 cases of pork carcass surfaces and 76 cases of feces, that is to say, a total of 144 cases. The results were obtained as follows: In the case of general bacterial count, 29 cases(25.7%) were in the range of 100∼999 and 62 cases(54.9%) were in the range of 1,000∼9,999 and 22 cases(19.4%) were in the range of 10,000∼99,999. Meanwhile as regards E coli count, 22 cases(19.4%) were in the range of 1∼9 and 69 cases(61.2%) were in the range of 10∼99 and 22 cases(19.4%) were in the range of 100∼999. On 68 cases of pork carcass surfaces, 7 strains(10.2%) of Salmonella spp, and 12 strains(17.6%) of S aureus were detected and 27 strains(39.7%) of L monocytogenes, respectively. As for the detected Salmonella spp, 6 strains of the B group, 3 strains of S enterica subsp salame and 2 strains of S typhimurium were detected, respectively. On 76 cases of feces, 14 strains(18.4%) of Salmonella spp, and 15 strains(19.7%) of L monocytogenes and 14 strains(18.4%) of S aureus were detected respectively. As for the detected Salmonella spp, 6 strains of the B group, 4 strains of S derby and 8 strains of the C group, 5 strains of S rissen were detected, respectively. All of 42 strains of L monocytogenes were type 1. As a result of conducting a toxin test on the detected S aureus, all of 26 strains were found to be non-toxin.
This study was performed to survey the school supplies such as pencil, eraser, notebook and color paper. Twenty-two kinds of samples were collected near the school zone, and eight kinds of phthalate which is one of the environmental hazard factors analyzed to estimate the contents characteristics of products. As the results of these research, three kinds of phthalates (BBP, DNOP and DIDP) were not detected in the selected samples. In the A group, DEHP and DINP were detected in the rage of 22%~28%, and DINP was selected 28%, 24% and 28% in the A-1, A-3 and A-4 samples, respectively. But the selected samples in the B group were detected less than 1,000 ppm as regulated level. Also, The DBP was detected 1% in the C-2 sample, and DEHP was detected 0.3% in the C-1 and C-6 samples. The DEHA was detected 0.3% in the D-3 sample. In this study, the DINP was mainly detected the eraser, therefore this kind of phthalate can be exposed through dermal exposure.
In order to study an applicable level for the graft finish of silk filaments and the characteristics of silk fabric, some sample fabrics were woven with grafted weft and the characteristics of sample fabrics were analyzed to evaluate the mechanical properites and the handle values according to the graft yield(%) of MMA and HEMA monomers on silk filaments. 1. The tensile properties were detected in the increase of linearity(LT) and the recovery in time of the increasing resilience(RT). 2. The bending properties were detected to have a lot of effect on the balance of bending rigidity(B) to hysteresis(2HB) according to the elastic relaxation of warp tension and the interlacing stress. 3. The shearing properities were detected to show the softness and the elastics in a case of the decrease in shearing rigidity(G) and hysteresis(2HG, 2HG5) according to the graft yields. 4. The compression properties were detected in the decrease of linearity(LC) and the uniformity of resilience(RC). It explains that the tendancies of compressible variation is not accepted. 5. The surface properities were detected to be affected by the surface forms of grafted silk filaments and the variation in the morphologies of interlacing sections. Considering the interlacing eveness, MMA grafted fabrics were accepted within the level of WOMEN'S THIN DRESS(KN-201-LDY) but HEMA grafted fabrics were not accepted. 6. The variation of handles were detected in the increase of total hand(TAV) within the levels of 65% of KOSHI and 82% of HARI on the average. 7. The handle fashions were detected in the nature of Habuta and Dechine from MAA graft but the nature of Fugi were shaped from HEMA graft in proportion to the graft yields.

The study was conducted for the safety evaluation of 320 pesticide residues in 768 Lentinula edodes fruit body samples and 143 L. edodes media samples, which are distributed nationwide in South Korea. The monitoring method was the second of the multi-residue methods in the Korean Food Code. GC-ECD, GC-NPD, and GC-MSD were used as evaluation equipment for analysis. Single-analysis of the target pesticides was performed for mepiquat chloride. Through the analysis of collected L. edodes samples, pesticide residues were detected in total seven cases, including four L. edodes fruit body samples and three L. edodes media samples. The detected pesticide residues were carbendazim, diflubenzuron, fluopyram, and dinotefuran. In this study, carbendazim was detected in three L. edodes fruit body samples and one L. edodes media sample. The detected amount of carbendazim was 0.056, 0.17, 0.043, and 0.09 mg/kg, respectively. The amount of carbendazim in the collected L. edodes samples was detected below the MRLs (maximum residue level). The detected amounts of fluopyram and dinotefuran were 0.068 mg/kg and 0.06 mg/kg, respectively. Two pesticide residues were detected in the medium in one case. Mepiquat chloride was not detected in this study. These results suggested that residual pesticides were detected in a small number of collected L. edodes. However, the PLS for unregistered pesticides MRL was 0.01 ppm; therefore, we have to conduct research on preparing safety standards for mushrooms, including L. edodes.
Background: The aim of the present study was to determine radioactive concentrations in fertilizers known to contain essential nutrients. Results of this study could be used as basic data to monitor the impact of chemical fertilizers on the environment and public health. Nitrogen fertilizers, calcium fertilizers, sulfur fertilizers, phosphate acid fertilizers, and potassium chloride fertilizers were used in this study. Materials and Methods: Five chemical fertilizers were pulverized, placed in polyethylene containers, and weighed. The time to measure each specimen was set to be 3,600 seconds for a scintillator-based gamma-ray spectroscopy system. Concentration of gamma radionuclide was analyzed based on obtained spectra. At the end of the measurement, the spectrum file was stored and used to calculate radioactive concentrations using a gamma-ray spectrometer software. Results and Discussion: In the nitrogen fertilizer, 3.49 ± 5.71 Bq/kg of 137Cs, 34.43 ± 7.61 Bq/kg of 134Cs, and 569.16 ± 91.15 of 40K were detected whereas 131I was not detected. In the calcium fertilizer, 5.74 ± 4.40 Bq/kg of 137Cs (the highest concentration among all fertilizers), 22.37 ± 5.39 Bq/kg of 134Cs, and 433.67 ± 64.24 Bq/kg of 40K were detected whereas 131I was not detected. In the sulfur fertilizer, 347.31 ± 55.73 Bq/kg of 40K, 19.42 ± 4.53 Bq/kg of 134Cs, 2.21 ± 3.49 of 137Cs, and 0.04 ± 0.22 Bq/Kg of 131I were detected. In the phosphoric acid fertilizer, 70,007.34 ± 844.18 Bq/kg of 40K (the highest concentration among all fertilizers) and 46.07 ± 70.40 Bq/kg of 134Cs were detected whereas neither 137Cs nor 131I was detected. In the potassium chloride fertilizer, 12,827.92 ± 1542.19 Bq/kg of 40K was and 94.76 ± 128.79 Bq/kg of 134Cs were detected whereas neither 137Cs nor 131I was detected. The present study examined inorganic fertilizers produced by a single manufacturer. There might be different results according to the country and area from which fertilizers are imported. Further studies about inorganic fertilizers in more detail are needed to create measures to reduce 40K. Conclusion: Measures are needed to reduce radiation exposure to 40K contained in fertilizers including phosphoric acid and potassium chloride fertilizers.
