USB를 통한 데스크탑 가상화 시스템 개발 (Development of Desktop Virtualization Using USB System)

  • 최근 다양한 단말기의 출현은 단말기 간의 정보교환 욕구를 증가시키고 있으며 이러한 단말기 간의 연결을 위해 가장 유용하고 널리 사용되는 방법 중의 하나가 USB 기술이다. 특히 UWB 무선기술과 USB 전송 기술을 결합한 무선 USB 기술은 이미 다양한 종류들이 소개되고 있다. 본 논문에서는 USB 전송기술을 활용하여 데스크탑 컴퓨팅 환경을 가상으로 확장하는 방법을 설계하고 구현하였다. 연구를 통해 개발된 USB to VGA/HDMI 변환 어댑터를 이용해 최대 8대까지 확장할 수 있는 가상의 데스크탑 환경 구성하고, USB 전송 S/W를 통해 품질 및 신호를 제어할 수 있도록 구현하였다.

  • Recently, improved capabilities of the mobile device is represented in a demand for same level services with the desktop device services but the service that is developed for desktop device is not compatible with mobile devices. To fulfill these demands, it is needed to provide services with considering features of mobile devices. This means that CP(Contents Provider) must do contents transformation in order to make suitable contents on mobile device. For managing some information that is required to do contents transformation, we need the DDR(Device Description Repository) which can store and search a variety of device information to grasp the constraints on the mobile device as compared with desktop devices. Also, defining standard API is required to offer a service regardless of platforms. Hereupon W3C(World Wide Web Consortium) introduced DDR Simple API. However that specifies the limited functions of DDR, which is inevitable to be added for more precise search services. In this paper, we expanded DDR Simple API and implemented DDR that supports DDL(Device Description Language) conversion and storing and searching device information.

  • 스마트 워크 (스마트 오피스)를 위해서 가장 많은 사용하는 방법은 RDP 원격 데스크톱 접속을 이용하는 것이다. 사무원이 전용 사무실 공간이 없는 경우에 스마트 오피스는 매우 유용하다. 즉, 사무원은 인터넷 카페, 공개된 지역 등에서 인터넷을 이용하여 자신의 컴퓨터에 접속할 수 있다. 이를 이용하여 업무를 효율적으로 처리할 수 환경이 만들어진다. 본 논문에서는 RDP 원격 데스크톱 접속을 이용하여 스마트오피스를 설계 및 개발하고자 한다. 스마트워크를 사용함으로써 업무를 이동하면서 해야 하는 직원을 위해서 도움이 될 것으로 기대한다.

Design and Development of m-Learning Service Based on 3G Cellular Phones

  • As the knowledge society matures, not only distant, but also off-line universities are trying to provide learners with on-line educational contents. Particularly, high effectiveness of mobile devices for e-Learning has been demonstrated by the university sector, which uses distant learning that is based on blended learning. In this paper, we analyzed previous m-Learning scenarios and future technology prospects. Based on the proposed m-Learning scenario, we designed cellular phone-based educational contents and service structure, implemented m-Learning system, and analyzed m-Learning service satisfaction. The design principles of the m-Learning service are 1) to provide learners with m-Learning environment with both cellular phones and desktop computers; 2) to serve announcements, discussion boards, Q&A boards, course materials, and exercises on cellular phones and desktop computers; and 3) to serve learning activities like the reviewing of full lectures, discussions, and writing term papers using desktop computers and cellular phones. The m-Learning service was developed on a cellular phone that supports H.264 codex in 3G communication technology. Some of the functions of the m-Learning design principles are implemented in a 3G cellular phone. The contents of lectures are provided in the forms of video, text, audio, and video with text. One-way educational contents are complemented by exercises (quizzes).

설계검토를 위한 가상현실·증강현실 기술의 활용 효과 비교 분석 (Comparative Analysis of Visual Presentation and User Acceptability of Virtual/Augmented Reality Application for Architectural Design Review)

  • Visualized information platforms through building information modeling (BIM) such as virtual reality (VR) and augmented reality (AR) improves the efficiency of architectural information exchange. Despite that, less effort has been directed to evaluate the effectiveness of different BIM visualization platforms for architectural design review. This study fills these gaps and compares three BIM visualization tools for reviewing diverse architectural review factors and technology acceptance degree. Three main BIM visualization tools, which are desktop-based, virtual reality-based and augmented reality-based, were employed and different architectural review factors and user's technology acceptance degree was measured. As a result, VR and AR environment showed better visual presentation than desktop environment during design review. In terms of the technology acceptance level, VR and AR environments have received higher ratings compared to desktop environments. The detailed findings provide guidelines for participants and researchers involved in design review process to selectively adopt VR and AR system to various architectural design review components.

  • 스마트워치로 대표되는 웨어러블 기기들은 시스템 내에서 민감한 개인정보를 처리하고 저장하기 때문에 높은 보안 기능이 요구된다. 타이젠 운영체제는 애플리케이션에서 특별한 권한을 요구하는 서비스에 접근 시 시스템 데스크톱 버스(D-Bus)를 통하여 요청하는데, 시스템은 해당 애플리케이션의 권한을 검증하여 서비스 접근 허용 여부를 결정한다. 본 논문에서는 타이젠 웨어러블 운영체제의 권한 정책과 접근 제어에 취약한 서비스들을 검출하기 위해 데스크톱 버스 분석 자동화 도구를 소개한다. 자동화 도구는 타이젠 시스템 내 다양한 서비스들에서 권한 검증을 우회할 수 있는 다수의 취약한 호출 메소드들을 발견하였다. 상용 애플리케이션을 제작하여 무선랜 위치 추적, 푸시 알림 수집 등 최소 5개의 취약점에 대한 시연을 하였다.

How to Implement Successful Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) in the Manufacturing Sector

  • Purpose: In the manufacturing sector, VDI (Virtual Desktop Infrastructure) offers advantages to the organizations, such as allowing manufacturers access to the system from any location. The most important things are understanding what the user needs, avoiding under-provisioning, network preparation. This research is to provide useful practical l implementations of VDI in manufacturing industry based on numerous prior studies. Research design, data and methodology: This research has conducted the qualitative content analysis (QCA). When conducting this research, the present author assumed that it is crucial to create the procedures and processes that will be used to acquire the text data needed to structure or solve problems. Results: According to the prior literature analysis, there are five suggestions to implement successful VDI for manufacturing sector. The five solutions are (1) Creation of the machines, (2) Direct users to an available 'Virtual Machine', (3) 'Virtual Machine Power Management', (4) Performance monitoring, and (5) Review security. Conclusions: The research clearly details how VDI can be implemented on a manufacturer platform and how it can be connected to hundreds of users. The author can conclude that connecting hundreds of users can be done using the remote connection of devices and encourage manufacturers to work from different areas.

스마트러닝 개선을 위한 평가시스템 개발 및 타당도 연구 (A Study of System Validity and Development of Evaluation System for Improving Smart Learning)

  • 본 연구는 교수자와 학습자들이 소유하고 있는 여러 장치들을 활용한다는 개념을 이용하여 스마트러닝 환경을 지원할 수 있는 학습자 평가시스템을 개발하여 수업에 적용하였다. 또한, 인터페이스, 상호작용, 애플리케이션, 기술지원, 평가 영역을 통해 학습자의 만족도를 분석하였다. 개발된 시스템은 태블릿 PC와 스마트폰용 애플리케이션 프로그램, 프로젝터를 지원하는 전자교탁용 프로그램, 서버 프로그램으로 구성된다. 수업자료 및 학습자에 대한 평가, 피드백 자료는 모두 서버에 저장되며, 학습자는 이를 이용하여 스마트폰, 데스크탑 PC를 통해 학습하거나 수업에 대한 피드백을 실시간 받을 수 있게 하였다. 제안된 시스템을 이용할 경우 학습자의 학업성취도와 학습에 대한 흥미를 높일 수 있음을 보이고 있다.

  • In this paper, we have designed a Home Networking System using an embedded linux board. The system based on the World-Wide-Web is composed of three parts - a Server, a Client and a Simulator. The Home Networking Server is built in an embedded board using an embedded linux kernel. A web-server and Home Networking Server Seryice Demon programming with a Jaya-Language is included in the board. Clients can connect to the server board using a web-browser in the desktop computer, PDA or any other machines which include a web-browser. For this purpose, we made the client program using a Java-Applet. So, the clients who connect to the server for the control of the applications, download the class-file and execute the client-program in the web-browser. So, the clients don't need any other programs to control the applications from a remote place. The size of server board is very small (86.3$\times$74mm), which makes it very useful not only for the Home-Networking-System but also in many other fields, e.g., embedded robot control system, etc. Using an embedded board instead of a desktop computer is good for a simple network environment and it occupies only a small space to make the system.
