Nowadays, smartphones have become a portable multimedia computer because of a variety of useful applications in our daily lives, which can be downloaded and installed easily in smartphones. Despite of the fact that, however in the IS literature there has been little research on smartphone applications' user interface design. Specifically, there has been little understanding about smartphone users' cognitive functions as a mediating variable in the relationship between the user interface design of smartphone applications and users' work performance with the applications. Thus, the research aims of this study are to examine 1) the effects of the user interface design attributes including simplicity, consistency, and metaphor on the compliance with or the extension of users' mental models representing users' cognitive functions, and 2) the effects of the users' cognitive functions on their work performance with the applications. A survey was conducted and Structural Equation Modeling(SEM) was employed to analyze the data. The results of this study showed that two of the user interface design attributes, simplicity and consistency, strongly affected users' cognitive functions. In addition, users' cognitive functions significantly influenced users' work performance. However, there was no relationship between the metaphors in the user interfaces of smartphone applications and the compliance with users' mental model. This study contributed theoretically not only to explore users' mental models that are rarely investigated in the IS field, but also to add some findings related to users' cognitive functions to the IS literature. This study also can help practitioners to develop more user friendly user interfaces of smartphone applications by suggesting the design attributes, such as simplicity, consistency, and metaphor.
The work-man's uniform should be coincident wit the image of his firm and accounted of the function according as its purpose. We made questions to 404 workers at 8 firm in our country through the questionnaire papers to know about a work-man's uniform and researched whether the satisfactory in wearing his uniform had relation with his type of business, grade, carrier, age, marriage, and monthly income. The results of this study is as follows; 1. In the uniform status of the fir, thee were many jumper styles in he design of the uniform. The color of that was more dark than bright and the materials of one was used much more chemical fiber than natural fiber. Each of the field office supplied the uniform to his work-man more frequently than the main office. All of firm payed off the uniform expense and decision of the uniform design was almost made both the firm and the labour union. 2. In he satisfaction of the uniform, the satisfaction of uniform was shown high in the design, color, materials, size and function. The highest dissatisfaction reason is as follows; it was disagreeable to concrete design in the design and dark color and keeping warm or draft was bad in the materials, the bust and pant's length was long in the size. 3. In preference of the uniform, the older of preference in the design was what the working environment and the image of firm was suitable, the characteristic uniform. The order of preference in the color was beige, blue, grey. The preference of in the materials was good to keep warm and draft. The preference in the pattern was 'no pattern' every type of business. The experts, or administrators and office workers than others preferred 'no pattern' of the uniform in the pattern.
The Standard for BIM in Construction of China was released in 2017. The Unified Standard for BIM of China also took effects on 2017. The BIM standards of China needs to be compared with those related guidelines of Korea to find the status and characteristics for future development of BIM application in both countries' construction industries. The research methodology is a case study of comparing various standards of both countries. The case study results reveals many interesting issues for future BIM application and guidelines for practice of design and construction process. The research foundings include followings : LOD (Level of development) are well defined including LOD 350 in Chinese Standard. P-BIM(Practice based BIM) concepts and series of standards are set for the well-defined design and construction process by work stage in China. Korean standards shows more processes of design and documentation in detail. Major three aspects, particularity in BIM standard by work trade, practicality in BIM work process of design and construction, and professionality in subjects of BIM application, are analyzed and compared with various Guidelines of BIM in both countries.

Improving work efficiency and satisfying customers through personalized services is becoming more important in an increasingly competitive hair industry. Wearables may help to improve hair designers' work efficiency and customer satisfaction by analyzing customer and hair designers' conditions and provide hair stylingrelated data. However, there is limited research on developing wearables for hair designers (WHDs), and many existing wearables were developed without understanding user needs and perceptions. This research investigated preferences, perceptions, and intentions on WHDs based on hair designers in the U.S., which is the largest hair market. Specific design options that hair designers preferred and possible options to meet requirements that hair designers expect for wearables were identified and suggested in WHD design guidelines. Second, most people preferred a WHD design of a black-colored bracelet/watch that can be a necklace designed with preferred functions; in addition, 3D virtual images and 3D printed models were prototyped. Third, developed designs were evaluated. More than 70% of users were satisfied and considered it as useful and easy to use, with an intention to purchase. The results are expected to provide insights to designers when developing WHDs.
Recently, the issue of construction safety is growing. In the construction industry, accidents have continued to increase since 2000. In particular, the number of accident deaths at small and medium-sized construction sites accounts for 72.11% of the total number of accident deaths in the construction industry. For construction safety, prior safety evaluation systems such as Design for safety and safety management plan preparation are in place. However, at construction sites, these systems are recognized as formal legal documents, and their effectiveness is greatly reduced. Therefore, in this study, a linkage model that links design safety review information and safety management plan information was presented so that the safety management plan can be efficiently established. In addition, the effectiveness of the proposed process was verified as an example of actual work. The linkage model will contribute to improving the safety management environment at the site by increasing the productivity of safety management work by enabling easy sharing of risk factor information in the construction stage safety management work. The results of this study will be used as basic information for the development of the integrated safety management system.
Creativity is one of the most popular keyword used in today's society due to it's important role as the major post modern economic drive force. Richard Florida calls the group of people who work in this creative industry as the 'Creative Class' and this theory has affected many organizations and cities. However, little is known about the work environment of this class, so many designers find it difficult to understand how they may encourage creativity in the actual physical setting. Therefore the purpose of this research is to understand the major characteristics of this 'Creative Class' and their working styles in order to develop a theoretical framework for the creative work environment and present a case study of NHN Company main office building. The researcher has indicated three major characteristics of the creative work environment such as 'Individuality', 'Socialization', and 'Experiential' and through the developed framework found that in NHN building 'Socialization' through overlapping territories and programs, spatial openness were used as key methods of encouraging creativity. It is hoped that this research may be used as a useful guide in designing various types of creative work environment for the future.

Industrial robot has played a central role in the production automation such as welding, assembling, and painting. There has been, however, little effort to the application of robots in machining work(grinding, cutting, milling, etc.) which is typical 3D work. The machining automation requires a high stiffness robot arm to reduce deformation and vibration. Conventional articulated robots have serially connecting links from the base to the gripper. So, they have very weak structure for he machining work. Stewart Platform is a typical parallel robotic mechanism with a very high stiffness but it has a small work space and a large installation space. This research proposes a new machining robot arm with a double parallel mechanism. It is composed of two platforms and a central axis. The central axis will connect the motions between the first and the second platforms. Therefore, the robot has a large range of work space as well as a high stiffness. This paper will introduce the machining work using the robot and design the proposed robot arm.
Purpose: This study was to identify the effects of a manual booklet as an aid to clinical performance in newly graduated nurses. Methods: The research design was a nonequivalent control group pretest-posttest design. The study was performed from June 14 to September 17, 2010 with an experimental group (n=23) and a control group (n=22) using a questionnaire with 45 new nurses who graduated from nursing colleges in 2010, and had less than 12 months work experience at a general hospital in B city. A pocketable nursing-work manual booklet was provided for the experimental group nurses so that they could use it as a reference in the work place. Results: Scores on performance of nursing work showed a significant difference between the experimental group and control group (t=-5.257, p=.001). Conclusion: Results of the present study indicate that a manual booklet of nursing work is very helpful in improving the clinical performance of new nurses. New nurses, who have some knowledge of nursing learned at school but have less clinical experience, can be helped effectively with a practical manual booklet for improving their work performance.
This work summarizes the current state of the art in software radio for 4G systems. Specifically, this work demonstrates that classic radio structures, e.g., heterodyne reception, homodyne reception, and their improved implementations, are inadequate selections for multi-mode reception. This opens the door to software defined radio, a novel reception architecture which promises ease in multi-band, multi-protocol design. The work presents the many advantages of such an architecture, including flexibility, reduced cost via component reduction, and improved reliability via, e.g., the elimination of environmental instability. The work also explains the limitations that currently curtail the widespread use of SDR, including issues surrounding A/D converters, management of software and power, and clock generation. This provides direction for future research to enable the broad applicability of SDR in 4G cellular and beyond.

This study aims for the research of the local circulation in a kitchen to minimize the kitchen work load and to produce a more efficient kitchen system. This study analized the real behavior and circulation in the kitchen area and this focused on the kitchen of the working women in a dual-income family. Through the analisis, this study raised an idea that the work in the kitchen area is not in sequence, but random while the tradition idea of the kitchen system is arranged by cooking programe. Therefore, this became a reason to increase the kitchen work load ratter than the layout of the kitchen system, the cooking style and menu affected on the more kitchen load. To reduce the kitchen work load, the designeer should shorten the circulation in the kitchen area. And this is possible through the decrease distance between the sink and a kiting zone and through the wide kitchen table which is between the sink and a kiting zone.
