  • In this study simple formula of magnetic field in case of shield with finite-width infinite-length were deduced. By using these formula calculation is very fast and programing is easy. The formula are applicable to analysis of shielding effectiveness and the design for shield of distribution lines.

  • A simpel formular is proposed for the analysis of gate delay of CMOS gate in the low V$_{GS}-V_{TH}$ scaling. The effects of magnitude of V$_{GS}-V_{TH}$ on gate delay can be readily found through the formula so that it can be used ot design the device parameters in the low V$_{DD}$ CMOS circuits. The measured sresutls confirm the usability of the proposed formula and quantifies the improtance of V$_{TH}$ effects on gate delay under low voltae operation. Applying the formula to the prototype NMOSFET devices representing the five generations of technology, the impacts of the V$_{GS}-V_{TH}$ on the various aspects of the circuit and device characteristics are investigated in a consistent manner.

  • It is hard and complex to analytically derive a volumetric displacement formula of a gerotor hydraulic motor because geometric shape of its rotors is complicate. An analytical method about the volumetric displacement is proposed in this work, which is relatively easy and based upon two physical concepts. The first one is energy conservation between hydraulic input energy of the motor and mechanical output energy. The second concept is torque equilibrium with respect to inner and outer rotors. The proposed formula about the volumetric displacement is verified by comparing an analytical displacement and a numerical displacement for an example specification of the motor. The numerical displacement is calculated through a kind of CAD technology. The analytical formula can be utilized in analysis and design of hydraulic gerotor motors.

서울지방의 통합형 확률강우강도식 (A Unification of the Probable Rainfall Intensity Formula at Seoul)

  • 도시유역의 수공계획 수립에 있어서 확률강우량은 중요한 설계수문량이다. 본 연구는 서울지방 통합형 확률강우강도식을 유도제시한 것으로서, 서울의 확률강우강도식은 Talbot, Sherman 및 Japanese형을 기본으로 하고 있으나 이는 통합형 확률강우강도식으로 단일화 될 수 있으며 기 발표형보다 서울지방의 확률강우량에 더 적합하다. 특히 전지속기간 자료인 경우에는 기 발표형보다 그 적용성이 두드러진다. 서울지방의 통합형 확률강우강도식의 계수 n 값은 재현기간의 증대에 따라 작아지고 강우지속기간의 증대에 따라 커지는 경향이 있으며, 계수 b 값은 자료집단의 구분에 관계없이 재현기간의 증대에 따라서 감소하는 것으로 나타났다. 단시간 자료인 경우 n 값은 0.55~0.60, 장시간인 경우 0.60~0.82이고 전시간 자료에 대하여는 0.60~0.66을 나타내었다.

제한적 강우-지속기간 자료를 이용한 실용적 IDF 관계식의 유도 (A Practical Approach Determining an IDF formula with Limited Rainfall-Duration Data Availability)

  • 지속기간별 강우자료의 보유연한이 충분하지 않은 지역에도 실용적인 적용이 가능한 IDF 관계식을 유도하였다. 이 관계식은 두개의 모형변수와 재현기간으로 구성된 근사식으로서, 지속기간별 강우자료를 통합하고 정규화 하는 변환과정을 통하여 통계적으로 유도되었다. 강우자료의 변환을 위하여 Kruskal-Wallis 통계량과 Manly 변환을 적용하였는데 이 결과 해석적으로 간단한 형식의 IDF 관계식을 얻을 수 있었다. 특히 보유 자료의 수가 제한된 경우 주로 발생하는 짧은 지속기간의 강우강도가 긴 지속기간의 강우강도에 비하여 작아지는 이상 현상을 완화할 수 있는 특징을 보여주었다. 실무적으로 혼란을 주고 있는 산청과 영천의 강우자료에서 발생하는 이상 현상을 처리하기 위하여 제안된 방법론을 적용한 결과 만족스러운 결과를 보여주었다.

On the Instantaneous and Average Piston Friction of Swash Plate Type Hydraulic Axial Piston Machines

  • Piston friction is one of the important but complicated sources of energy loss of a hydraulic axial piston machine. In this paper, two formulas are derived for estimating instantaneous piston friction force and average piston friction moment loss. The derived formula can be applicable for piston guides with or without bushing as well as for axial piston machines of motoring and pumping operations. Through the formula derivation, a typical curve shape of friction force found from several experimental measurements during one revolution of a machine is clearly explained in this paper that it is mainly due to the equivalent friction coefficient dependent on its angular position. Stribeck curve effect can easily be incorporated into the formula by replacing outer and inner friction coefficients at both edges of a piston with the coefficient given by Manring (1999) considering mixed/boundary lubrication effects. Novel feature of the derived formula is that it is represented only by physical dimensions of a machine, hence it allows to estimate the piston friction force and loss moment of a machine without hardworking experimental test.

  • 현재 소규모 유역에서의 수공구조물의 설계시 확률강우강도식을 사용하여 강우량을 산정하는 것이 일반적인 적용방법으로 이용되어지고있다. 확률강우의 산정은 그 자체로서 불확실성을 많이 내포하고 있으나 현실적으로 강우의 비선형성을 해석함에 있어 단순화는 배제 할 수 없는 필요사항이다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 확률강우량 산정을 위한 강우강도식의 산정에 있어서 그 비선형성을 잘 모의할 수 있는 방법에 관하여 연구하여 보았다. 연구결과에 의하면 유전자 알고리즘이 시산법이나 비선형계획법의 일종인 Powell 기법에 비하여 더 신뢰성 높은 방법임을 알 수 있었다.

  • 본 연구에서는 CFRP쉬트로 보강된 원형 CFT기둥의 압축거동을 관찰하고 설계식을 제안하였다. 원형 CFT기둥의 CFRP쉬트의 보강효과를 관찰하기 위해 10개의 실험체를 제작하여 중심축하중 실험을 수행하였다. 실험변수로는 CFRP쉬트 보강겹수와 직경-두께비(D/t)이다. 실험결과 원형CFT기둥에 CFRP쉬트 보강을 통해 압축내력을 증가시킨 것으로 나타났다. 끝으로 ACI 440code를 응용하여 CFRP 보강된 원형 CFT기둥의 압축내력을 예측하기 위한 설계식을 제안한다. 제안식을 분석한 결과 실험결과와 비교적 일치한 것으로 나타났다.

Load-sharing ratio analysis of reinforced concrete filled tubular steel columns

  • It was clear from the former researches on reinforced concrete filled tubular steel (RCFT) structures that RCFT structures have different performance than concrete filled steel tubular (CFT) structures. However, despite of that, load-sharing ratio of RCFT is evaluating by the formula and range of CFT given by JSCE. Therefore, the aim of this investigation is to study the load-sharing ratio of RCFT columns subjected to axial compressive load by performing numerical simulations of RCFT columns with the nonlinear finite element analysis (FEA) program - ADINA. To achieve this goal, firstly proper material constitutive models for concrete, steel tube and reinforcement are proposed. Then axial compression tests of concrete, RC, CFT, and RCFT columns are carried out to verify proposed material constitutive models. Finally, by the plenty of numerical analysis with small-sized and big-sized columns, load-sharing ratio of RCFT columns was studied, the evaluation formulas and range were proposed, application of the formula was demonstrated, and following conclusions were drawn: The FEA model introduced in this paper can be applied to nonlinear analysis of RCFT columns with reliable results; the load-sharing ratio evaluation formula and range of CFT should not be applied to RCFT; The lower limit for the range of load-sharing ratio of RCFT can be smaller than that of CFT; the proposed formulas for load-sharing ratio of RCFT have practical mean in design of RCFT columns.

Development of stress correction formulae for heat formed steel plates

  • The heating process such as line heating, triangular heating and so on is widely used in plate forming of shell plates found in bow and stern area of outer shell in a ship. Local shrinkage during heating process is main physical phenomenon used in plate forming process. As it is well appreciated, the heated plate undergoes the change in material and mechanical properties around heated area due to the harsh thermal process. It is, therefore, important to investigate the changes of physical and mechanical properties due to heating process in order to use them plate the design stage of shell plates. This study is concerned with the development of formula of plastic hardening constitutive equation for steel plate on which line heating is applied. In this study the stress correction formula for the heated plate has been developed based on the numerical simulation of tension test with varying plate thickness and heating speed through the regression analysis of multiple variable case. It has been seen the developed formula shows very good agreement with results of numerical simulation. This paper ends with usefulness of the present formula in examining the structural characteristic of ship's hull.
