Aortic dilatation and dissection are severe complications during pregnancy that can be fatal to both the mother and the fetus. The risks of these complications are especially high in pregnant patients with Marfan syndrome; however, incidents of descending aortic dissection are very rare. This case report involves a successful Bentall procedure for and recovery from a rare aortic dissection in a pregnant Marfan patient who developed acute type II aortic dissection with severe aortic regurgitation and chronic descending aortic dissection immediately after Cesarean section. Regular follow-up will be needed to monitor the descending aortic dissection.

대동맥 궁 후방 또는 근위부 하행 흉부 대동맥에 병변이 있는 경우 일반적인 정중 흉골 절개술을 통한 접근 방법은 폐 질환으로 인한 유착이 심한 환자에 있어서 제한점이 있다. 본원에서는 객혈을 주소로 내원 한 근위부 하행 흉부 대동맥류 질환을 가진 66세 남자환자에서 정중 흉골 절제술을 통해 대동맥-폐간 유착 박리 등 폐조작을 가하지 않고 성공적으로 상행, 궁부, 하행 대동맥을 치환함으로써 이에 증례 보고하는 바이다.

In this paper, some properties for a PI-ring satisfying the descending chain condition on essential left ideals are studied: Let R be a ring with a polynomial identity satisfying the descending chain condition on essential ideals. Then all minimal prime ideals in R are maximal ideals. Moreover, if R has only finitely many minimal prime ideals, then R is left and right Artinian. Consequently, if every primeideal of R is finitely generated as a left ideal, then R is left and right Artinian. A finitely generated PI-algebra over a commutative Noetherian ring satisfying the descending chain condition on essential left ideals is a finite module over its center.(omitted)

A 44-year-old man was admitted to our hospital because of high fever, neck swelling, and dyspnea. He was diagnosed as descending necrotizing mediastinitis (DNM) extended from oropharyngeal infection. Descending necrotizing mediastinitis(DNM) is a lethal process originating from odontogenic. oropharyngeal, or cervical infections that descends along the fascial planes into the mediastinum. DNM is relatively rare, but it is lethal disease with high mortality. Immediate and sufficient mediastinal drainage is indispensable for the disease. The principles of the surgical approach for DNM are discussed, with a brief review of the literature following these case reports.

This study contemplated the descending air current from the smoke layers related to the smoke logging phenomenon in the sprinkler applied design for effective evacuation safety design. As a result, database on the average particle diameter, particle velocity and distribution of sprinkling was obtained and the relationship between the water amount and particle diameter was obtained. Also, in relation to descending air current, the movement of smoke layer to the bottom at the descending air current velocity of 0.6m/s was observed and stable descending air current was observed in existence of fire source over 100kW in size.

The purpose of this study was to investigate SCM performance of textile fashion business in a competitive market environment. For the methodology of this study, the questionnaire was developed based upon the literature. 230 questionnaires were distributed to the experts who operate SCM in textile fashion firms. The returned usable 149 were analyzed by SPSS10.0 with multiple regression analysis and Cronbach's Alpha for internal consistency and reliability. The results of this study were as follows: The SCM performance of the textile fashion firms was affected by information system, business environment, and partnership in a descending order. Analyzing on the business environment, CEOs' concern about incorporating SCM and the degree of assistance from government and textile fashion federation impacted the performance of SCM in a descending order. For information system, standardized computerization, information sharing, and computerization with infrastructure on intra/inter business impacted the SCM performance of the firms in a descending order. For partnership, strategic alliance, openness about corporate culture, and credibility of partnership impacted the SCM performance of the firms in a descending order.

이물질(foreign body)의 만성적인 자극은 혈관에 지연성 손상을 가져올 수 있다. 척추 측후만증을 교정하고 자 약 14개월 전에 흉추에 CD 금속강과 나사못(Cotrel-Dubousset rods and screws)을 장치했던 환자에서 CD 나사못의 만성적인 자극으로 흉벽의 박동성 혈종을 합병한 가성 대동맥류가 발생하였다. 이 환자에서 가성 대동맥류가 발생한 하행대동맥 부위를 절제하고 인조혈관 대치술로 치료하였기에 보고한다.

Surgical ligation is the treatment of the choice in patients with patent ductus arteriosus (PDA). This case series presents two cases of PDA, one with and one without persistent left cranial vena cava (PLCVC), treated with surgical ligation through the descending aortic approach with mini-thoracotomy. There were no specific complications during the surgical procedures. The descending aortic approach would be an alternative method for dissection of the PDA.

Here, we present a case of a 56-year-old man with acute myocardial infarction. The patient underwent percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) at the left main bifurcation and mid-left anterior descending artery using drugeluting stents. Four months after the PCI, the patient was readmitted for cardiac arrest. Coronary angiography (CAG) revealed stent thrombosis in the left main-to-proximal left anterior descending artery and in-stent restenosis in the left main-to-proximal left circumflex artery. We performed balloon angioplasty at the left main to mid-left anterior descending artery and left main to proximal left circumflex artery stents; subsequently, blood flow was fully restored. However, contrast agent extravasation was observed outside the mid-portion of the left main artery to the proximal left anterior descending artery stent, indicating the presence of a coronary artery aneurysm (CAA) outside the stent. After guideline-directed medical therapy with dual antiplatelet agents and high-intensity statins, follow-up CAG revealed near-resolution of the CAA, absence of stenotic lesions, and good blood flow.

This study aims to summarize the effects of Arduino-based educational programs through a meta-analysis. Eleven eligible primary studies were obtained through a systematic literature review and coded accordingly. The results are as follows: The meta-analysis revealed that the overall effect size for all the studies was 0.518. Analysis of the moderator variables indicated statistically significant differences between them. Regarding the learning domains, the results were ranked in descending order of the cognitive and affective domains. Within the cognitive domain, the effect sizes were ranked in descending order as follows: logical thinking, content knowledge, convergence competency, self-efficacy, computational thinking, and creative problem-solving skills. In terms of subject areas, the descending order of effect sizes was agriculture, STEAM, environmental science, practical arts, artificial intelligence, informatics, and computers. Regarding school level, the results were ranked in the following descending order: college, elementary school, middle school, and high school.
