치과위생사의 근속의사에 관한 측정도구 개발 (Development of scale of long-term employment intention for dental hygienist)

  • Objectives: The purpose of this study is to develop a survey instrument to assess intention to stay for dental hygienists based on validity and reliability. Methods: A survey was conducted targeting 317 dental hygienists in dental clinics. The data was used for the analysis of the study, using PASW Statistics 20.0 and IBM SPSS AMOS 18.0. Results: The preliminary instrument includes 44 item. 22 items were excluded by variable analysis. 17 final items was selected by exploratory factor analysis (EFA). The confirmatory factor analysis (CFA) was composed of four elements, 'organization fit', 'interpersonal relationship', 'identity', and 'job connectivity'. Conclusions: The validity and reliability of measurement tool for dental hygienist's intention to stay was proved. It could be used to help dental hygienist's long-term employment.

치과의료서비스의 질과 환자만족도와의 연관성 (Association of quality of dental care service on the level of patient satisfaction)

  • Objectives : This study has been undertaken for the purpose of finding out what influence is made by the dental care service provided to patients by the dental clinics to the level of patient satisfaction to provide the base data for developing and improving the dental care service of dental hygienist. Methods : The survey was undertaken for 500 patients visiting 18 dental clinics in City G and the questionnaire was undertaken for two weeks in May 2010, and 473 copies were analyzed with the exception of the questionnaires with many omissions in the response. Results : 1. Distribution of the level of satisfaction for patient had the dentist factor which was highest in the dentist factor for 4.43 at the age of 60s (p<0.05). and in sole proprietorship for 4.49 (p<0.01). treatment procedure factor which was highest in sole proprietorship for 4.16 (p<0.001). environment of dental clinic factor which was highest at the age of 60 years or older for 4.36 (p<0.05) and in sole proprietorship for 4.14 (p<0.01). 2. Evaluation on the quality of the dental care service of dental hygienist had the kindness of dental hygienists which was highest at the age of 60 years or older for 4.40(p<0.001), knowledge factor of dental hygienist which was highest for 4.34 at the age of 60 years or older (p<0.05) and highest 4.27 for visit dentists(p<0.001) and the patient management and other factor was highest at the age of 60s for 4.47 (p<0.05), and in sole proprietorship for 4.28 (p<0.05). 3. Factors influencing on the level of satisfaction for patient. The level of satisfaction for patient was higher for higher evaluation of the dentist quality (p<0.001), for feeling convenient in treatment procedure and use (p<0.01), for feeling kindness of the dental hygienist (p<0.01), and for higher evaluation in patient management and other management activities of the dental hygienist (p<0.001). Conclusions : In order to heighten the level of satisfaction for patient, it would be necessary to strengthen the kindness and patient management aspect on the patients of the dental hygienist, and it would require to heighten the quality of dentist as patients recognize and heighten the treatment procedure and service convenience of dental clinics.

치과위생사의 유머에 관한 연구 (A Study on dental hygienist's humor)

  • The purpose of this study was to verify the reliability of the instrument and to analyze the contents of the humor. This study was conducted from December 16th, 2002 to January 13th, 2003, centering on Busan Dental Hospital & public health service. A total of 193 questionnaires was distributed for the survey. The result were as followings: 1. There were significant differences in humor values concerning age(F=1l.44, p=0.000), marriage(t= -3.556, p=0.000), education(F=14.83, p=0.000), clinical carrier(F=9.99, p=0.000), status(F=5.83, p=0.001), working place(F=7.39, p=0.000), and living parents(F=3.65, p=0.014). Humor values were higher for over-forties, married dental hygienists, public health service worker and no living parents. 2. There were no Significant correlation between stress and the dental hygienist's humor values. 3. There were significant differences in humor values concerning sources of the dental hygienist's humor. Data related "book/mass media"(t=-6.32, p=0.000), "conversation" (t=-12.05, p=0.000) and "daily life"(t=-10.33, p=0.000) are examples of these sources. 4. There were no significant differences in humor values concerning the dental hygienist's humor degree related frequency of used humor. 5. There were significant differences in humor values concerning the type of humor used, "word humor"(t=-7.00, p=0.000), "imitation"(t=2.68, p=0.008), "adequate situation" (t=-8.03, p=0.000), "technical terms"(t=6.65, p=0.000) pertain to this. 6. There were Significant differences in humor values concerning the time of using humor expression, "loose situation"(t=-3.75, p=0.000), "tired situation"(t=4.01, p=0.000), "tense situation"(t=5.37, p=0.000), "adequate situation"(t=-16.03, p=0.000) pertain to this.

미래 보건치과위생사에게 기대하는 인성과 그 진출전망에 대한 전국 보건치과위생사 대표단의 심층면담 (In-depth interview about expected role and competency of future public health dental hygienist)

  • Objectives: The purpose of the study was to examine the expected role and competency of future public health dental hygienist. Methods: This study was cross-sectional design. One dental hygienist per 16 cities and provinces was selected from the list of Korea Society of public dental hygienists. After signing in the informed consent, the interview was carried out. Transcripts were made after each interview. Six researchers recorded meaningful contents in the transcripts. They classified and integrated the information that they had recorded commonly or not. Their opinions were converged by conference. Two supervisors verified results whether they were derived from actual recordings for the reliability of the results. The records were confirmed once again and corrected into common message. Results: The main difficult subjects in public health official examination were public health, English, and medical legislation to pass the examine. The preliminary certificates included public health related certificate, computer certificate, and driver's license. In the personality aspect, creativity, activeness, cooperation and good responsibility were very important trait to public health official. Among 16 interviews, 9 were positive and 5 were negative about the future prospects of a public dental hygienist. Conclusions: The future of public health dental hygienist will be positive. Throughout effort to prepare for the public health official, the public health dental hygienist will be expanded and in many ways the dental hygienists will take the charge of the important parts of the public health administration in the near future.

우리나라 치과위생사 인력정책 현황 및 과제 (Issues and Challenges of Dental Hygienist Workforce Policy in Korea)

  • 치과보조인력 정책의 현황을 확인하기 위하여 치과보조인력 공급 현황, 지역별 분포, 법적 업무, 근무환경 등의 측면에서 관련 선행문헌고찰 및 자료수집 및 분석을 실시하고, 관련요인을 고찰함으로써 우리나라 정책의 문제점을 도출하고자 하였다. 치과위생사 수의 급격한 양적 증가가 있었음에도 불구하고, 활동 수는 전체의 절반에도 미치지 못하고, 치과계는 여전히 치과위생사 인력난을 경험하고 있다. 치과위생사의 수행업무를 고려했을 때 치과진료보조 업무 수행을 위한 전문적 치과보조인력의 활용이 제한적이다. 또한, 대도시를 중심으로 치과위생사 분포가 편중되고, 치과위생사로만 구성된 치과의료기관 비율이 높기 때문에 지역별 치과보조인력 분포의 불균형을 해결하기 위한 방안 마련이 필요하다. 수행 업무 중 많은 비중이 의료기사법에 구체적으로 명시된 사항이 아니므로 해당행위의 적법성을 판단하는 기준이 모호하다. 치과위생사의 직업수명, 업무 효율성, 직업전문성 및 만족도가 감소함에 따라 직무소진이 빠르게 나타나고 있다. 치과위생사의 법적 업무와 실제 수행하는 업무와의 괴리, 직역 간 갈등의 심화는 정부 차원에서의 치과의료인력의 활용 계획과 방안이 부재하기 때문인 것으로 검토된다. 이에 대해 정부에서는 치과의료서비스 수요에 따라 치과위생사 인력의 역할을 정립하고, 필요 정책을 제도화하며, 인력을 적절하게 활용하기 위한 계획을 수립하기 위한 노력을 해야 한다.

치과위생사에 대한 환자만족도와 치과 치료지시 이행도의 관계 (Relationship between dental care compliance and patients' satisfaction about dental hygienist)

  • Objectives: This study aimed to examine the correlation between dental care compliance and patients' satisfaction about dental hygienists who are oral health care experts likely to lead patients' motivation. Methods: From June 11 to September 30, 2019, a questionnaire survey was conducted and a total of 189 people completed a structured questionnaire evaluating patient's satisfaction and dental compliance. Data were analyzed using non-parametric tests such as Mann-Whitney test, Kruskal-Wallis rank test, and Spearman's correlation. Results: There was a statistically significant correlation between dental care compliance and the area of good impression (r=0.187, p<0.001), support for interpersonal support (r=0.346, p<0.001), and dissatisfaction (r=0.304, p<0.001). Conclusions: It is necessary to continuously study and identify ways to enhance dental care compliance and patients' satisfaction.

치위생학 전공심화과정을 이수한 치과위생사의 셀프리더십이 조직유효성에 미치는 영향 (The Effect of Self-Leadership on Job Performance of Dental Hygienists who have Graduated with a Bachelor's Degree)

  • Objectives: The Purpose of this study is to investigate the effect of self-leadership on the organizational effectiveness of a dental hygienist who has completed a bachelor's degree of dental hygiene science. Methods: A self-reported questionnaire was completed by 303 dental hygienists in the Jeonbuk area from July 1 to August 31, 2019. Data were analyzed through the chi-square test, t-test, one-way ANOVA, and multiple regression analysis using the SPSS 18.0 program. Results: Subject's age, marital status, and clinical experience had significant effects on self-leadership and organizational effectiveness. It was found that the course completion status of bachelor's degree was related to self-leadership and organizational effectiveness. Conclusions: Completing a bachelor's degree in dental hygiene science impacts self-goal setting and constructive thinking of self-leadership. This also influences job satisfaction and organizational commitment.

구조방정식을 이용한 신종 감염병이 치과위생사 이미지와 취업 인식에 미치는 영향: 온라인 정보 중심으로 (The Effect of New Infectious Diseases Using Structural Equation on Dental Hygienist Image and Employment Recognition: Focused on Online Information)

  • 본 연구는 구조방정식을 통하여 학생들의 치과 위생사에 대한 이미지와 취업 인식을 파악하고 온라인 정보에 대한 인식을 접목해 차후 치과위생사 보건인력 확보에 필요한 정보를 마련하고자 한다. 수집된 자료는 통계는 SPSS Statistics 24.0 와 AMOS Graphics 21.0 통계 패키지를 이용하여 자료 분석을 시행하였다. 취업을 긍정적으로 인식하는 사람은 신종 감염병이 발생해도 치과위생사의 이미지를 긍정적으로 보고, 치과위생사의 부정적 이미지를 통해 부정적 취업 인식을 이해하는 것으로 나타났다. 인터넷 정보를 긍정적으로 생각하는 사람은 인터넷 정보가 거짓 정보가 많고, 유해하며, 불안을 조장한다고 생각하고, 그 영향은 취업에 대한 부정적 인식에 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 인터넷 정보를 긍정적으로 생각하는 사람은 치과위생사가 감염에 노출되기 쉽고, 감염원을 전달 할 수 있으며, 쉽게 감염될 수 있다고 생각하고, 이는 부정적 취업에 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 결론적으로 신종 감염병 시기에는 올바른 인터넷 정보의 인식을 통하여 치과위생사의 이미지 형성을 하는 것이 중요하다.

한 . 미 . 일 치위생사 양성기관의 교과과정 비교 (An analysis of Dental Hygine Curriculum in Three Countries)

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze and compare dental hygine curriculum of three countries--Korea, U.S.A., and Japan--, focusing on the ways of organizing content. In this study, 30 curriculum documents of dental hygienist in U.S., Japan, and Korea were analyzed and discussed by a framework of analysis which was constructed referring to Tylerian curriculum model. Using this framework, three kinds of key components of curriculum document were compared according to specific elements of each component. More specifically, comparing those curriculum documents, we must consider the dimension of content organization. In this study, the problem of course organization was viewed on three dimensions: continuity, sequence, and integration of curriculum content. Based on the results of this study, the conclusions are as follows. 1. Courses of dental hygienist education should be organized so that the curriculum foster the cumulative and continuous learning. It will be accomplished by considering the essential procedures or sequence of dental hygiene activities. 2. When organizing curriculum elements, we should consider the continuity dimension of learning content. Continuity deals with the vertical manipulation or repetition of curriculum components. In other words, it accounts for the reappearance in the curriculum of certain major ideas or skills. Therefore, courses should be based on the level of the dental hygienist activities in order to ensure a continuity of learning experiences. 3. Dental hygienist curriculum must be organized in a way to integrate the logic of dental hygiene as a discipline with the process of dental hygiene performance. Integration refers to the linking of all types of knowledge and experiences contained within the curriculum design. It emphasizes horizontal relations among various content topics and themes involving all domains of knowledge recognized. Thus, courses of dental hygiene curriculum should be integrated to allow college students to obtain a unified view of knowledge and an in-depth meaning of the dental hygiene as a profession.

임상치과위생사의 감정노동이 직무스트레스에 미치는 융합적 영향 -자아존중감의 매개효과를 중심으로- (The Convergence Influence of Emotional Labor of clinical dental hygienist working on Job stress. -Focused on Mediating Effects of Self Esteem-)

  • 본 연구는 감정노동이 자아존중감을 매개로 직무스트레스에 미치는 영향을 파악하고자 실시하였다. 연구 대상은 편의 추출된 임상치과위생사 205명을 대상으로 하였으며 자료는 구조화된 설문지를 통해 2016년 1월 3일부터 1월 30일까지 수집하였다. 분석결과 감정노동은 자아존중감과 부적 상관을 가지고 있으며, 직무스트레스와는 정적 상관을 가지고 있는 것으로 나타났다. 자아존중감은 직무스트레스와 부적상관을 가지는 것으로 나타났다. 즉, 감정노동이 직무스트레스의 하위요인중 관계갈등과 직무불안정, 직장문화에서의 스트레스를 증가시키는 직접효과와 자아존중감을 낮추고, 낮아진 자아존중감이 다시 직무스트레스를 증가시키는 간접효과를 동시에 가짐을 확인할 수 있었으며 임상 치과위생사들에게 감정노동의 대처방안 및 자아존중감을 높일 수 있는 교육을 통하여 감정노동 수준 관리와 병원차원에서의 융합적 노력이 필요할 것으로 사료된다.
