Today, as the hierarchical cellular system is getting more attention than before, some recent studies introduce delay based admission control (AC) scheme which delays the admission to the macro-embedded small cell for a relatively short time to prevent unnecessary handover caused by the short-term visitors of the small cell area. In such delay based ACs, when we use improper delay parameter, the system frequently makes incorrect handover decisions such as where unnecessary handover is allowed due to too short delaying, or where necessary handover is denied due to too long delaying. In order to avoid these undesirable situations as much as possible, we develop a new delay parameter decision method based on probabilistic cell residence time approximations. By the extensive numerical and analytical evaluations, we determine the proper delay parameter which prevents the incorrect handover decision as much as possible. We expect our delay parameter decision method can be useful system administration tips in hierarchical cellular system where delay based AC is adopted.

We reviewed controllers with a time delay estimation in this paper. Time delay control (TDC) and sliding mode control (SMC) are well known robust control schemes. Basically, the TDC has a main characteristic called a time delay estimation from which we can estimate the total uncertainty of a system. . The TDC causes the stick-slip in the case of systems with a friction. The so-called TDCSA which are short for TDC with switching action was developed to reduce the stick-slip. The TDC has the additional switching action term in the TDC structure. In the other hand, the SMC dose not have a time delay estimation but instead it can estimate the system uncertainty through the switching action. The SMC has a difficulty to estimate the total uncertainty of a system because it does not have a time delay estimation. In order to solve the difficulty, some control schemes were developed. Among them, we need to focus our attention on two control schemes: SMCPE and SMCTE, which are short for sliding mode control with a perturbation estimation and sliding mode control with a time delay estimation, respectively. In this paper, we analyzed and compared the characteristic of above three controllers. Even though the motives for the development of three control schemes are different, three control schemes have much in common in terms of their controller structures.

Data analysis research using deep learning has recently been studied in various field. In this paper, we conduct a GNSS (Global Navigation Satellite System)-based meteorological study applying deep learning by estimating the ZWD (Zenith tropospheric Wet Delay) through MLP (Multi-Layer Perceptron) and LSTM (Long Short-Term Memory) models. Deep learning models were trained with meteorological data and ZWD which is estimated using zenith tropospheric total delay and dry delay. We apply meteorological data not used for learning to the learned model to estimate ZWD with centimeter-level RMSE (Root Mean Square Error) in both models. It is necessary to analyze the GNSS data from coastal areas together and increase time resolution in order to estimate ZWD in various situations.

In this research, a multi-tree coder at 9.6Kbits/sec using a novel scheme for adaptation of the short-term coefficients is developed. The overall delay of the tree coder is maintained at 2.5 msec(16 samples at the 6.4KHz sampling frequency). This coder produces good quality speech over ideal channels, and it is very robust to channel errors up to a bit error rate (BER) of $10^{-3}$. This robustness is achieved by using a parallel adaptation scheme in combination with the use of a smoothed version of the received excitation sequence for adaptation of the short-term prediction coefficients. For the multi-tree coder, reconstructed output speech is evaluated using signal-to-quantization noise ratios (SNR), segmental SNRs, and informal listening tests.
Fair Queueing algorithms based on Generalized Processor Sharing (GPS) not only guarantee sessions with service rate and delay, but also provide sessions with instantaneous fair sharing. This fair sharing distributes server capacity to currently backlogged sessions in proportion to their weights without regard to the amount of service that the sessions received in the past. From a long-term perspective, the instantaneous fair sharing leads to a different quality of service in terms of delay and bandwidth to sessions with the same weight depending on their traffic pattern. To minimize such long-term unfairness, we propose a delay-bandwidth normalization model that defines the concept of value of service (VoS) from the aspect of both delay and bandwidth. A model and a packet-by-packet scheduling algorithm are proposed to realize the VoS concept. Performance comparisons between the proposed algorithm and algorithms based on fair queueing and service curve show that the proposed algorithm provides better long-term fairness among sessions and that is more adaptive to dynamic traffic characteristics without compromising its service rate and delay guarantees.
In this paper, an initial value method for solving a class of singularly perturbed delay differential equations with layer behavior is proposed. In this approach, first the given problem is modified in to an equivalent singularly perturbed problem by approximating the term containing the delay using Taylor series expansion. Then from the modified problem, two explicit Initial Value Problems which are independent of the perturbation parameter, ${\varepsilon}$, are produced: the reduced problem and boundary layer correction problem. Finally, these problems are solved analytically and combined to give an approximate asymptotic solution to the original problem. To demonstrate the efficiency and applicability of the proposed method three linear and one nonlinear test problems are considered. The effect of the delay on the layer behavior of the solution is also examined. It is observed that for very small ${\varepsilon}$ the present method approximates the exact solution very well.

The TDCSA(Time Delay Control with Switching Action) method, which consists of Time Delay Control(TDC) and a switching action of sliding mode control(SMC), has been proposed as a promising technique in the robust control area, where the plant has unknown dynamics with parameter variations and substantial disturbances are preset. When TDCSA is applied to the plant with saturation nonlinearity, however, the so-called windup phenomena are observed to arise, causing excessive overshoot and instability. The integral element of TDCSA and the saturation element of a plant cause the windup phenomena. There are two integral effects in TDCSA. One is the integral effect occurred by time delay estimation of TDC. Other is the integral term of an integral sliding surface. In order to solve this problem, we have proposed an anti-windup scheme method for TDCSA. The stability of the overall system has been proved for a class of nonlinear system. Experiment results show that the proposed method overcomes the windup problem of the TDCSA.

This study examines the effects of perceived risks on purchase decision behavior among Internet fashion consumers. The study survey used a self-administered questionnaire and a total data of 244 responses were used for analysis. The results of this study are as follows: First, the perceived risks consist of 6 factors, quality risk, counterfeit product risk, credit dealing risk, social/psychological risk, size and appearance risk, and delivery risk. The purchase decision behavior consist of 3 factors, delay of purchase decision, website switching, and offline conversion behavior. Second, purchase time positively affected the quality risk and credit dealing risk. Purchase frequency negatively affected the quality risk and credit dealing risk. Third, the quality risk, size and appearance risk, counterfeit product risk, and credit dealing risk positively affected the delay of purchase decisions. Quality risk and counterfeit product risk positively affected website switching. In addition, quality risk, social/psychological risk, and credit dealing risk positively affected the offline conversion behavior. Fourth, credit dealing risk negatively affected a short term purchase intention and the delivery risk negatively affected a long term purchase intention. The social/psychological risk and credit dealing risk negatively affected the repurchase intention.
There are many problems that must solve to construct next generation high-speed communication network. Among these, item that must consider basically is characteristics analysis of traffic that nows to network Traffic characteristics of many Internet services that is offered present have shown that network traffic exhibits at a wide range of scals-self-similarity. Self-similarity is expressed by long term dependency, this is contradictory concept with Poisson model that have relativity short term dependency. Therefore, first of all, for design and dimensioning of next generation communication network, traffic model that are reflected burstiness and self-similarity is required. Here self-similarity can be characterized by Hurst parameter. In this paper, the calculation equation is derived considering queueing delay and self-similarity of data traffic art compared with simulation results.
In this paper, a class of linear second order singularly perturbed delay differential turning point problems containing a small delay (or negative shift) on the reaction term and when the solution of the problem exhibits twin boundary layers are examined. A hybrid finite difference scheme on an appropriate piecewise-uniform Shishkin mesh is constructed to discretize the problem. We proved that the method is almost second order ε-uniformly convergent in the maximum norm. Numerical experiments are considered to illustrate the theoretical results.
