  • WA-DGNSS is a system to service for users using a satellite which received correction data from ground station that calculates the relative errors of the tracked GNSS signals and sends to a satellite. Users are guaranteed the reliability of the GNSS signal and the accuracy of positioning. ICAO recommends the application of WA-DGNSS for the airplane taking off and landing process. In this paper, we suggests methods to verify of the pre-developed WA-DGNSS reference software constituting modules and an integration test process refer to the RTCA DO-278 which is a document for the development process of an aeronautics software. Also, we statistically verified the reference software test through our methods. And then, we confirmed to performance the function of the reference software properly.

  • The blade vibration problem of bladed disk is the most critical subject to consider since it directly affects the stable performance of the engine as well as life of the engine. Especially, due to complicated vibration pattern of the bladed disk, more effort was required for vibration analysis and test. The research of measuring the vibration of the bladed disk, using NSMS(Non-intrusive stress measurement) instead of Aeromechanics testing method requiring slip ring or telemetry system with strain gauge, was successful. These testing can report the actual stresses seen on the blades; detect synchronous resonances that are the source of high cycle fatigue(HCF) in blades; measure individual blade mis-tuning and coupled resonances in bladed disks. In order to minimize the error being created due to heat expansion, the tip timing sensor is installed parallel to the blade trailing edge, yielding optimal result. Also, when working on finite element analysis, the whole bladed disk has gone through three-dimensional analysis, evaluating the family mode. The result of the analysis matched well with the test result.

  • The composition of bright flash device is a pyrotechnic mixture consisting of metal powder, oxidizer and additives. A pyrotechnic mixture of bright flash device generates a bright flash through burning after being ignited by initiator. The function of bright flash is to distract or incapacitate electro optical sensor systems and enemy eyes temporally. This study is to develop composition of pyrotechnic mixture of bright flash and to analyze the test results by considering intensity and efficiency of light.

  • The reaction characteristics of aluminum-copper(II) oxide composites initiated by the electrostatic discharge were studied as changing the aluminum particle size. Three different sizes of aluminum particles with nano-size copper(II)-oxide particle were used in the study. These composites were manufactured by two methods i.e. a shock-gel method and a self-assembly method. The larger aluminum particle size was, the less sensitive and less violent these composites were based on the electrostatic test. On the analysis of high speed camera about ignition appearances and burning time, the burning speed was faster when aluminum particle size was smaller.

  • In this study, bearings were developed for a high-power propulsion motor operating in inclined operation conditions through a simulation and similitude-experimental methods using commercial rotating machinery dynamics analysis software. The developed journal bearing is electrically insulated and has low thermal conductivity because each part is connected with 2-4 -mm-thick epoxy plates. To realize an appropriate oil thickness, an oil lift system is adopted, and a half separated structure is applied to ensure the feasibility of maintaining very heavy components. This study discusses some of the key design aspects of sleeve bearing design for high-torque and low-speed propulsion motor applications. Furthermore, the conditions of variable slope tests are examined to prevent oil leakage from the bearing lip seal on the test rig.

  • An umbilical separation device can maintain and disconnect electrical connections with a missile launched from a launch tube. In this paper, an umbilical separation device was designed according to mechanical characteristics of a missile. Its behavior was analyzed with Recurdyn software. Based on analysis results, its performance was verified through a verification test.

  • In this paper, a optimum degaussing technique, which can minimize an underwater magnetic field anomaly generated by the ferromagnetic hull, was verified through the mock-up test of a ship. To predict degaussing field signals due to the degaussing coils installed in a ship, individual coil effects were measured. Exploiting the linearity of coil effects and analytical sensitivity formula, optimum degaussing current values fed to individual coils were decided. To identify degaussing performance of the proposed method, the obtained degaussing currents were applied to the coils. Then the field anomaly signals were measured and analyzed before and after degaussing. Experimental results show the magnitude of the field signal after degaussing is reduced up to 95% of that before degaussing.

  • We propose the design of an INS simulated equipment to evaluate the enhanced jamming resistance of an INS-aided GPS receiver with INS, when a jamming signal is injected into a simulated high dynamic platform. We propose the design of a relative cheap INS simulated equipment, instead of an expensive INS simulator connected to GPS simulators. Based on the design, we implement the equipment and setup high dynamic test environment using the equipment to evaluate an INS-aided GPS receiver. In the GPS L1 C/A and L2C simulations that inject jamming signals of the narrow and wide bandwidth into the GPS receiver with and without INS-aided algorithm, we obtain increased jamming resistance performance as +5 dB compared with the GPS receiver without INS-aided algorithm in all kinds of jamming bandwidth. Based on the simulations, we verified that the INS simulated equipment can be used to evaluate the enhanced jamming resistance of INS-aided GPS receivers.

  • Expecting fatigue life of mounted radar in aircraft is very important when designing, because the mounted radar in aircraft is exposed to long-term external random vibration. Among the methods of predicting the fatigue life, Fatigue analysis method in frequency domain has continuously been proposed in this field. In this paper, four fatigue analysis methods in frequency domain, which are widely used, have been selected and compared with the results for Specimen fatigue test. As a result, Dirlik and Benascicutti-Tovo methods have been matched better with fatigue analysis in time domain than the method in frequency method through the comparison between the fatigue analysis method in time domain and the method in frequency domain by conducting the specimen fatigue test with strain gage. Based on the results of the specimen fatigue test, We have conducted fatigue analysis of mounted radar in aircraft with Dirlik and Benasciutti-Tovo methods in the finite element model, and confirmed that the required life was satisfying.

  • ESICD(Electrical Signal Interface Control Document) refers to a document that describes protocols and data for communication between components consist of a system. Each component developer gathers at a specific place to conduct an integrated test for ESICD verification. In this case, it often happens that the integration test is delayed due to a simple mistake of software developers. There are two reasons for this situation: First, software developers do not perform sufficient verification because it is difficult to configure the system environment in a Lab, and second, they do not immediately find the cause of errors occurred during integration tests. Therefore, in this paper, we propose a strategy to effectively perform ESICD verification, which takes a lot of time between the production and implementation stage of the weapon system development stage and the system integration test stage.
