Basal cell carcinoma(BCC) is malignant epithelial neoplasm arising from either basal cells or pluripotential appendageal cells of the epidermis. BCC is the most common cutaneous malignancy, especially in sun-exposed sites, such as head and neck. But its occurrence on the finger is very rare. We experienced a case of BCC arising on the dorsal surface of the middle finger of a young woman. This case is not associated with any predisposing factors such as basal cell nevus syndrome, trauma, or preexistent dermatosis. Following surgical removal of the lesion, the defect was covered with full-thickness skin graft. The patient has presented no sign of relapse for 1 year of clinical follow-up. We report this rare case of BCC in terms of age and location.
Congenital diaphragmatic hernia is an important cause of respiratory distress in the newborn. Eventration, with which these conditions are easily confused, may also Produce severe respiratory distress in infancy or be an asymptomatic radiographic finding. Harrington`s classification of diaphragmatic hernias into two categories, traumatic and nontraumatic, is most widely accepted. Nontraumatic hernias are [1] the congenital types, composed of the posterolateral [Bochdalek], those through the esophageal hiatus, the parasternal [/Morgagni], and those through a defect left by partial absense posteriorly, and [2] the acquired types, composed of those through the esophagea/hiatus [sliding and paraesophageal] and those the sites mentioned above under the congenital hernias. During the period from 1970 up to October 1978, 21 cases of diaphragmatic hernia were treated in department of cardiovascular and thoracic surgery. 11 cases of Bochdalek hernias, 1 case of Morgagni hernia, 5 cases of diaphragmatic eventration and 3 cases of hiatal hernia [2 cases of paraesophageal and 1 cases of sliding type], were experienced. 3 cases of 20 died of respiratory insufficiency, 2 cases of mortality were combined with left lung hypoplasia with Bochdalek hernia.
The transmission pipeline industry spends many millions of dollars annually performing inline inspections, excavating sites of possible corrosion, and repairing or replacing damaged sections of pipe. New criteria for evaluation the integrity of corroded pipe have been developed in recent years to help in controlling these costs. These new criteria vary widely in their estimates of integrity and the most appropriate criterion for a given pipeline is not always clear. This paper presents an overview, comparison and evaluation of acceptability criteria for corrosion defects in pipelines. By full scale burst tests, this paper have assessed the relative accuracy of each of theses criteria in predicting failure and remaining strength. Many of the criteria appear to be excessively conservative and indicate that defects must be repaired when none is needed, based upon burst test data.

The rear side surface of tiles act have protrusions that helps secure the adhesion between the tile and the mortar for tile setting. Conventional height of the rear side usually ranges between 1 to 1.5 mm, and the molding method is classified in between press type and compression type during the manufacturing process, with most tiles being produced by the former method. In sites where adhesion failures were observed, tiles were taken to examine the cause of defect. It was determined that height was irregular at the rear side surface. Based on these findings, an experiment was conducted to determine the correlation between the rear surface and the bonding strength of tiles.
Herein, we report and discuss the detection of fossa navicularis magna, a close radiographic anatomic variant of canalis basilaris medianus of the basiocciput, as an incidental finding in cone-beam computed tomography (CBCT) imaging. The CBCT data of the patients in question were referred for the evaluation of implant sites and to rule out pathology in the maxilla and mandible. CBCT analysis showed osseous, notch-like defects on the inferior aspect of the clivus in all four cases. The appearance of fossa navicularis magna varied among the cases. In some, it was completely within the basiocciput and mimicked a small rounded, corticated, lytic defect, whereas it appeared as a notch in others. Fossa navicularis magna is an anatomical variant that occurs on the inferior aspect of the clivus. The pertinent literature on the anatomical variations occurring in this region was reviewed.
Coulometric titration experiments have been done for copper doped cobaltous oxide (Co1-xCux)1-$\delta$ O with various dopant concentrations. We present the obtained experimental data and compare our results to those of previous thermogravimetric investigation. The experimental data are fitted by theoretical calculations based on various defect models. For this modeling, we considered different types fo major defects like copper in substitutional and interstitial lattice sites as well as copper vacancy. We also introduced the copper evaporation effect during titration experiment into our consideration.
Cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) rhinorrhea usually occurs as a result of trauma including operation. Unheated CSF rhinorrhea may induce major morbidity such as meningitis and brain abscess, etc. This paper presents a review of four cases of traumatic CSF rhinorrhea Sites of CSF leakage were easily found out by intrathecal fluorescent dye injection. Surgery was performed by external ethmoidectomy approach and dural tear and bone defect was repaired with abdominal fat and free mucosal graft taken from amputated middle turbinates. We conclude that repair using free fat and mucosal graft via external ethmoidectomy approach could be accepted as the intial method of CSF rhinorrhea management.

In modern society, people live in an environment with artificial or natural noise. Especially, the sound that corresponds to the artificial noise makes the noise itself and affects each other because many people live and work in the city. Sounds are generated by the activities and causes of various people, such as construction sites, aircraft, production machinery, or road traffic. These sounds are essential elements in human life and are recognized and judged by human auditory organs. Noise is a sound that you do not want to hear by subjective evaluation, and it is a loud sound that gives hearing damage or a sound that causes physical and mental harm. In this study, we introduce the method of stimulating the human hearing by finger vibration and explain the advantages of the proposed method in various kinds of a noise environment. And how to improve the sound quality to improve efficiency. In this paper, we propose a method to prevent the loss of hearing loss and the transmission of sound information based on proper signal to noise ratio when using portable IT equipment in various noise environments.
Due to sporadic development projects and Korea's geographical characteristics slopes are inevitable. Consequently, widespread slope greening projects are underway, prioritizing safety and landscape integration. Experimental research is being conducted on slope greening methods and their effects; however, there is a dearth of research on the various conditions resulting from slope greening construction defects. This study examined different conditions and assessed greening methods on real-world sites to understand their correlation with slope greening. Even in the same areas, the state of slope greening varied in different conditions. This underscores the importance of pre-evaluating specific conditions to achieve efficient slope greening results across various conditions. Consequently, there is a need for guidelines and institutional frameworks to assess various conditions in future endeavors.
Purpose: In this study, we aimed to evaluate the clinical validity of the modified tunneling technique using minimal soft tissue harvesting and volume-stable collagen matrix in the anterior mandible. Methods: In total, 27 anterior mandibular teeth and palatal donor sites in 17 patients with ≥1 mm of gingival recession (GR) were analyzed before and after root coverage. For the recipient sites, vertical vestibular incisions were made in the interdental area and a subperiosteal tunnel was created with an elevator. After both sides of the marginal gingiva were tied to one another, a prepared connective tissue graft and volume-stable collagen matrix were inserted through the vestibular vertical incision and were fixed with resorbable suture material. The root coverage results of the recipient site were measured at baseline (T0), 3 weeks (T3), 12 weeks (T12), and the latest visit (Tl). For palatal donor sites, a free gingival graft from a pre-decided area avoiding the main trunk of the greater palatine artery was harvested using a prefabricated surgical template at a depth of 2 mm after de-epithelization using a rotating bur. In each patient, the clinical and volumetric changes at the donor sites between T0 and T3 were measured. Results: During an average follow-up of 14.5 months, teeth with denuded root lengths of 1-3 mm (n=12), 3-6 mm (n=11), and >6 mm (n=2) achieved root coverage of 97.01%±7.65%, 86.70%±5.66%, and 82.53%±1.39%, respectively. Miller classification I (n=12), II (n=10), and III (n=3) teeth showed mean coverage rates of 97.01%±7.65%, 86.91%±5.90%, and 83.19%±1.62%, respectively. At the donor sites, an average defect depth of 1.41 mm (70.5%) recovered in 3 weeks, and the wounds were epithelized completely in all cases. Conclusions: The modified tunneling technique in this study is a promising treatment modality for overcoming GR in the anterior mandible.
