  • Conventional nutrition services involve producer-oriented approaches without considering the differences in the characteristics and circumstances of each individual, whereas personalized nutrition services are consumer-oriented concepts that provide products and services for maintaining optimal health conditions based on the genetic, physiological, and metabolic characteristics of individuals, with these products based on balanced nutrition and healthy living. Currently, methods for evaluating dietary habits, monitoring dietary behaviors, deep phenotyping, and metabotyping via microbiota profiling, as well as methods for predicting big data by using machine learning, have been previously studied in Korea and abroad. With the development of medical technology and the improvement of hygiene, the demand for personalized nutrition and health services for healthier, happier, and more satisfying lives is rapidly increasing. Therefore, based on scientific technologies, attempts are needed to advance these services into global personalized markets and to boost the global competitiveness of countries and companies.

  • Bearing plays an important role in the operation of most machinery, Therefore, when a defect occurs in the bearing, a fatal defect throughout the machine is generated. In this reason, bearing defects should be detected early. In this paper, we describe a method using Convolutional Neural Networks (SN-CNNs) based on continuous wavelet transformations and Switchable normalization for bearing defect detection models. The accuracy of the model was measured using the Case Western Reserve University (CWRU) bearing dataset. In addition, batch normalization methods and spectrogram images are used to compare model performance. The proposed model achieved over 99% testing accuracy in CWRU dataset.

  • Hypertension is a severe health problem and increases the risk of other health issues, such as heart disease, heart attack, and stroke. In this research, we propose a machine learning-based prediction method for the risk of chronic hypertension. The proposed method consists of four main modules. In the first module, the linear interpolation method fills missing values of the integration of gas and meteorological datasets. In the second module, the OrdinalEncoder-based normalization is followed by the Decision tree algorithm to select important features. The prediction analysis module builds three models based on k-Nearest Neighbors, Decision Tree, and Random Forest to predict hypertension levels. Finally, the features used in the prediction model are explained by the DeepSHAP approach. The proposed method is evaluated by integrating the Korean meteorological agency dataset, natural gas leakage dataset, and Korean National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey dataset. The experimental results showed important global features for the hypertension of the entire population and local components for particular patients. Based on the local explanation results for a randomly selected 65-year-old male, the effect of hypertension increased from 0.694 to 1.249 when age increased by 0.37 and gas loss increased by 0.17. Therefore, it is concluded that gas loss is the cause of high blood pressure.

  • Construction is a collaborative endeavor. The complexity in delivering construction projects successfully is impacted by the effective collaboration needs of a multitude of stakeholders throughout the project life-cycle. Technologies such as Building Information Modelling and relational project delivery approaches such as Alliancing and Integrated Project Delivery have developed to address this conundrum. However, with the onset of the pandemic, the digital economy has surged world-wide and advances in technology such as in the areas of machine learning (ML) and Artificial Intelligence (AI) have grown deep roots across specializations and domains to the point of matching its capabilities to the human mind. Several recent studies have both explored the role of AI in the construction process and highlighted its benefits. In contrast, literature in the organization studies field has highlighted the fear that tasks currently done by humans will be done by AI in future. Motivated by these insights and with the understanding that construction is a labour intensive sector where knowledge is both fragmented and predominantly tacit in nature, this paper explores the integration of AI in construction processes across project phases from planning, scheduling, execution and maintenance operations using literary evidence and experiential insights. The findings show that AI can complement human skills rather than provide a substitute for them. This preliminary study is expected to be a stepping stone for further research and implementation in practice.

  • The detection of products with manipulated reviews has received widespread research attention, given that a truthful, informative, and useful review helps to significantly lower the search effort and cost for potential customers. This study proposes a method to recognize products with manipulated online customer reviews by examining the sequence of each review's sentiment, readability, and rating scores by product on randomness, considering the example of a Russian online retail site. Additionally, this study aims to examine the association between brand awareness and existing manipulation with products' reviews. Therefore, we investigated the difference between well-known and unknown brands' products online reviews with and without manipulated reviews based on the average star rating and the extremely positive sentiment scores. Consequently, machine learning techniques for predicting products are tested with manipulated reviews to determine a more useful one. It was found that about 20% of all product reviews are manipulated. Among the products with manipulated reviews, 44% are products of well-known brands, and 56% from unknown brands, with the highest prediction performance on deep neural network.

  • In this paper, we deal with a game theoretic problem to explore interactions between evasive Artificial Intelligence (AI) malware and detectors in Internet of Things (IoT). Evasive AI malware is defined as malware having capability of eluding detection by exploiting artificial intelligence such as machine learning and deep leaning. Detectors are defined as IoT devices participating in detection of evasive AI malware in IoT. They can be separated into two groups such that one group of detectors can be armed with detection capability powered by AI, the other group cannot be armed with it. Evasive AI malware can take three strategies of Non-attack, Non-AI attack, AI attack. To cope with these strategies of evasive AI malware, detector can adopt three strategies of Non-defense, Non-AI defense, AI defense. We formulate a Bayesian game theoretic model with these strategies employed by evasive AI malware and detector. We derive pure strategy Bayesian Nash Equilibria in a single stage game from the formulated Bayesian game theoretic model. Our devised work is useful in the sense that it can be used as a basic game theoretic model for developing AI malware detection schemes.

  • This paper proposes an effective method for detecting hacking attacks in automotive CAN bus using the RANSAC (Random Sample Consensus) algorithm. Conventional deep learning-based detection techniques are difficult to be applied to resource-constrained environments such as vehicles. In this paper, the attack detection performance in vehicular CAN communication has been improved by utilizing the lightweight nature and efficiency of the RANSAC algorithm. The RANSAC algorithm can perform effective detection with minimal computational resources, providing a practical hacking detection solution for vehicles.

  • Smart Factory consists of digital automation solutions throughout the production process, including design, development, manufacturing and distribution, and it is an intelligent factory that installs IoT in its internal facilities and machines to collect process data in real time and analyze them so that it can control itself. The smart factory's equipment works in a physical combination of numerous hardware, rather than a virtual character being driven by a single object, such as a game. In other words, for a specific common goal, multiple devices must perform individual actions simultaneously. By taking advantage of the smart factory, which can collect process data in real time, if reinforcement learning is used instead of general machine learning, behavior control can be performed without the required training data. However, in the real world, it is impossible to learn more than tens of millions of iterations due to physical wear and time. Thus, this paper uses simulators to develop grid sortation systems focusing on transport facilities, one of the complex environments in smart factory field, and design cooperative multi-agent-based reinforcement learning to demonstrate efficient behavior control.

  • In accordance with the rapid non-face-to-face environment and mobile first strategy, the explosive increase and creation of many structured/unstructured data every year demands new decision making and services using big data in all fields. However, there have been few reference cases of using the Hadoop Ecosystem, which uses the rapidly increasing big data every year to collect and load big data into a standard platform that can be applied in a practical environment, and then store and process well-established big data in a relational database. Therefore, in this study, after collecting unstructured data searched by keywords from social network services based on Hadoop 2.0 through three virtual machine servers in the Spring Framework environment, the collected unstructured data is loaded into Hadoop Distributed File System and HBase based on the loaded unstructured data, it was designed and implemented to store standardized big data in a relational database using a morpheme analyzer. In the future, research on clustering and classification and analysis using machine learning using Hive or Mahout for deep data analysis should be continued.

  • Telugu language is considered as fourth most used language in India especially in the regions of Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Karnataka etc. In international recognized countries also, Telugu is widely growing spoken language. This language comprises of different dependent and independent vowels, consonants and digits. In this aspect, the enhancement of Telugu Handwritten Character Recognition (HCR) has not been propagated. HCR is a neural network technique of converting a documented image to edited text one which can be used for many other applications. This reduces time and effort without starting over from the beginning every time. In this work, a Unicode based Handwritten Character Recognition(U-HCR) is developed for translating the handwritten Telugu characters into English language. With the use of Centre of Gravity (CG) in our model we can easily divide a compound character into individual character with the help of Unicode values. For training this model, we have used both online and offline Telugu character datasets. To extract the features in the scanned image we used convolutional neural network along with Machine Learning classifiers like Random Forest and Support Vector Machine. Stochastic Gradient Descent (SGD), Root Mean Square Propagation (RMS-P) and Adaptative Moment Estimation (ADAM)optimizers are used in this work to enhance the performance of U-HCR and to reduce the loss function value. This loss value reduction can be possible with optimizers by using CNN. In both online and offline datasets, proposed model showed promising results by maintaining the accuracies with 90.28% for SGD, 96.97% for RMS-P and 93.57% for ADAM respectively.
