  • Available daylight in inside offers comfortable view environment, and psychological and physical advantages to people in a room. Architecture design has need of daylight prediction for reflection efficiently daylight. But it is difficult to predict the illuminance values in daylight system. Using various lighting simulation software is easy and simple, but we can find different results under the same conditions. This study compares with illuminance values from simulation (Lightscape 3.2, RELUX 2007, RADIANCE 3.9) and Mock-up experiment with the same space and parameter of daylight (location of space and window, date, time and sky condition).

  • Throughout history, daylight has been a primary source of lighting in buildings, supplemented originally with burned fuels and more recently with electrical energy. Before daylight was supplemented or replaced with electric light in the late 19th-century, consideration of good daylight strategies was essential. As we entered the mid-20th-century, electric light supplanted daylight in buildings in many cases. Fortunately, during the last quarter of the 20th-century and early years of this century, architects and designers have recognized the importance and value of introducing natural light into buildings. There are many simple strategies that can enhance daylighting and reduce the need for electric lights. Good quality daylight is always welcome, but remember that the electric lights must be dimmed or shut off in order for daylighting to save energy. We designed and built mirror systems and vertical daylighting devices to improve daylight condition of office buildings in bad condition because urban density is getting higher. This case study aims to analysis the principles and characteristics of mirror systems and vertical daylighting devices and selected the method that can improve constructability. The results of this study are going to use the back data to set-up the design standards. Hereafter we're going to progress the performance test and product the design manual to improve applicability of daylighting systems at design phase.

블라인드연동 LED조명의 조광제어에 따른 재실자의 밝기 변화 인식에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Perception of the Brightness Change according to Daylight Responsive LED Dimming Systems and Venetian Blind)

  • This study has attempted to investigate how subjects perceive changes of brightness and their visual comfort according to daylight responsive LED(Light Emitting Diode) dimming systems in the office with venetian blind. Two studies was conducted. First study is that how subjects perceive changes of brightness and their visual comfort depending on angle control method of the venetian blind while the workplane illuminance level is being maintained through daylight responsive LED dimming system. Second study is that how subjects perceive changes of brightness and their visual comfort depending on the amount of daylight penetrated into the building while the illuminance level is being maintained through daylight responsive LED dimming system. The results of this study could be proposed as basic data in the control of the venetian blind and LED lighting in consideration of their perception on changes of brightness and visual comfort.

  • A new and accurate expression to derive a window area is presented with a sequence for daylighting design using Daylight Factor Method process not in its classical point--by-point method but in lumen method as in artificial lighting design process to consider daylight in the early stage of a building design process. Accepting CIE Overcast Sky as the worst state with the lowest sky luminance, a user of a room can have more available daylight in his or her room. In the design process uniformity is checked to ensure reasonably even daylighting by comparing the depth of the room with the computed limiting depth. After these steps the shape and position of window is altered, of which the Sky Component of Daylight Factor under an Overcast Sky, SCo, is investigated and computed in Composite Simpson Multiple Integral so that a building designer or an analyst can choose the best shape and location that satisfies his/her taste and purpose of the room.

  • Daylighting system is an alternative to the energy crisis and environment change. And it is possible improvement system of Architectural Space Environment. Accordingly, it is very useful system. Because Daylight Duct System of Daylighting System gives high performance for its price, distribution rate is very high. But Daylighting Duct System is hard to accurate control. Accordingly, it is difficult to maintain continuously Daylight Environment in Interior Spaces. Lighting Diffusion System has been developed that it is Applying the principle of Reflector and prism diffuser for maximize the efficiency of lighting of Daylight Duct Systems through this study. And then compare lighting performance of Existing System and new Lighting Diffusion System through producing a mock-up. Thus, this study was carried out for the purpose of verification for excellence. It is that installed Each Daylighting Duct System for performance evaluation in a laboratory of width 4m, length 10m, height 2.5m. And illuminance was measured at noon on winter solstice(December 22) under clean sky. The actual measurement result was in the following. Newly developed lighting Diffusion system was measured maximum illuminance 399, minimum illuminance 221, average illuminance 141. Synthetically, daylight factor, uniformity factor and illuminance distribution were improved more than existing system. As a result, it was confirmed that was improved lighting Environment in Interior Spaces.

Study on Integrated Workflow for Designing Sustainable Tall Building - With Parametric method using Rhino Grasshopper and DIVA for Daylight Optimization

  • Purpose: The Objective of this study is to explore the capabilities of an integrated modelling and simulation workflow when applied to an experiment-based research process, aimed at deriving daylight optimization strategies specific to tall buildings. Methods: Two methods were devised to apply this workflow with the help of DIVA and Rhino/Grasshopper. The first method is a multiple variant analysis by setting up an appropriate base case and analysing its daylight and energy performance, forming the basis of comparison for subsequent cases for design variants. The second method involved setting up the base case within a site context and conducting a solar irradiation study. An architectural variables such as overhang and shading device, were then defined as inputs in the parametric definition in Grasshopper to control the selected variable. Results: While the first method took advantage of the speed and efficiency of the integrated workflow, the second method was derived based on the ability to directly process simulation data within the integrated, single-software platform of the proposed workflow. Through these methods, different architectural strategies were explored, both to increase daylight penetration and to reduce radiant heat gain. The focus is on methods by which this workflow can be applied to facilitate the experimental derivation of daylight optimization strategies that are specific to tall building design.

오픈데이라이트 컨트롤러 클러스터 성능 분석 및 최적 운영 방안 (Performance Evaluation and Optimal Operation Strategy of OpenDaylight Controller Cluster)

  • 본 논문에서는 최근 많은 관심과 집중을 받고 있는 SDN 분야 오픈 소스 프레임워크인 오픈데이라이트 컨트롤러를 중심으로 컨트롤러 클러스터 구조 및 동작방식에 대하여 분석한다. 오픈데이라이트 컨트롤러 클러스터에서는 컨트롤러 간 데이터 스토어의 동기화를 위하여 분산 샤드 구조 및 샤드 리더 선정을 위한 Raft 알고리즘을 적용하고 있다. 성능 분석에서는 컨트롤러 클러스터 크기, 샤드 역할, 샤드 정책에 따른 CRUD, Routed RPC 지연시간 및 리더 재선정 지연시간 등을 분석함으로써, 오픈데이라이트 컨트롤러 클러스터 운영 시의 최적 운영 방안을 논의한다.

실내 주광조도 간이 예측식을 활용한 담천공 시의 자연 채광 성능 평가 (Application of Simplified Daylight Prediction Method for Daylighting Performance Evaluation on Overcast Sky)

  • Daylight is very useful to control the indoor environment, and can save energy in buildings. So it is necessary to evaluate the daylighting performance of buildings. We proposed a simplified equation that can be used in the early stages of design. And we verified the equation by using the measured illuminance data from the 1/5 scale model. We compared the calculated indoor illuminances and measured illuminance including Daylight Factors of scale model in order to verify the applicability of the simplified equation, and proved the analyzed values are acceptable. When we have a target value of the Daylight Factor, we just have to determine the window area, transmittance of the glazing system, and indoor surface reflectance, then can achieve it with this simplified equation.

청천공 조건에서 조광제어 시스템 적용시 조도변화에 대한 시각적 만족도 분석 (The Influence of Illuminance Variation by a Daylight Dimming Control System on Visual Comfort Under Clear Sky Conditions)

  • This study examines the influence of light variation on visual responses in a small office space where a daylight dimming control system is applied. Field measurements and survey were performed in a full-scale mocked-up small office space under clear sky day conditions. Maximum fluctuation range for desktop was 133.5 lx and it just happened once for entire monitoring period. For the majority of time, the fluctuation range did not exceed 50 lx, which did not cause visual discomfort to subjects. The daylight dimming control system successfully kept required illuminance levels for an office environment when desktop illuminance by daylight ranged up to 300 lx. The most serious contributor to the sensation of glare was direct daylight through window. The dimming of electric light was not a significant contributor to visual discomfort for the subjects under clear sky day conditions. Visual comfort was significantly influenced by the sensation of glare, feeling for visual stimulation and distraction, and required illuminance level.

주광이용 조광제어시스템의 적용성 향상을 위한 조명 에너지 절감량 예측 프로세스 개발 및 적용사례 (The Process and Example on the Prediction of Lighting Energy Savings for Daylight Responsive Dimming Systems Application)

  • 광센서 조광제어시스템은 유용한 주광의 실내유입을 통하여 인공조명의 에너지를 절감하는 시스템이나, 쉐이팅시스템에 의한 주광유입의 차단으로 인하여 그 적용성은 미비하다. 따라서 광센서 조광제어시스템의 적용성 및 에너지 절감량 향상을 위해서는 자동롤러쉐이딩 시스템과의 통합은 필수적이다. 본 연구는 두 시스템을 통합한 주광이용 조광제어시스템의 적용성 향상을 위하여 시스템 적용 시 에너지 절감량을 예측할 수 있는 프로세스를 개발하고 이를 사례에 적용하였다. 개발된 프로세스는 주광이용 조광제어시스템의 초기투자비용 환수 및 시스템 적용을 위한 타당성 분석의 자료로 이용될 것이다.
