  • Objectives: The purpose of this study was to examine factors influencing the retention intention of dental hygienists in clinical practice. Findings will assist in the development of strategies to increase their retention. Methods: A self-reported questionnaire was completed by 261 dental hygienists who work at dental hospitals and clinics in the Jeollabuk-do area. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, independent t-test, one-way ANOVA (post-test Duncan), and multiple regressions. Results: The variable that demonstrated the largest influence on the retention intention of dental hygienists was purpose/meaning (${\beta}=0.283$), followed by transcendental calling (${\beta}=0.198$). These factors relate to the sense of calling. The third most influential variable was pay (${\beta}=0.150$). This relates to general characteristics. The fourth most influential factor was the frequency of emotion display (${\beta}=-0.112$), which relates to one of the sub-areas of emotional labor. Conclusions: In order to strengthen the retention intention of dental hygienists, diverse approaches should be implemented, with particular consideration for their sense of calling, emotional labor and pay.

  • Relation between condensate retention and heat transfer performance is studied for condensation of CFC-11 on horizontal integral-fin tubes. Eight tubes with trapezoidally shaped integral fin density from 738fpm to 1654fpm and 10, 30 grooves are tested. The liquid retention angles are measured by the height gauge, and each tube is tested under static(non-condensing) condition (CFC-11, water) and under dynamic(condensing) condition (CFC-11). The analytical model predicts the amount of liquid retention on a horizontal integral-fin tubes within+10 percent over most of the data. Average retention angle increases as both surface tension-to-density ratio($\sigma/\rho$) and fin density(fpm) increase, The tube having a fin density of 1299~1654fpm has the best heat transfer performance. The amount of surface flooding must keep below of 40 percent for best heat transfer performance at condensation. The tube having low number of fin density must be used for fluids having high values of $\sigma/\rho$(water, (TEX)$NH_3$, ect.) and the tube having high number of fin density must be used for the fluid having low values of $\sigma/\rho$(R-11, R-22, etc.)

  • The study investigated the effect of carrier composition (ionic strength and pH) on the retention of various proteins in flow field-flow fractionation (Flow FFF) as well as the conformational change of Bovine Serum Albumin (BSA) with urea concentration, storage time and temperature. The study found that the retention of protein in Flow FFF increased with the ionic strength of the carrier liquid. Most proteins were well solubilized at pH = 7-8. The hydrodynamic diameters obtained from Flow FFF retention data agree well with theoretical values. The retention increased and the peak shape became distorted at extreme pH conditions of the carrier solution. The selected carrier composition for comparison between the literature value of proteins was 0.05 M tris buffer solution with a pH of 8. Storing BSA at 4 ±2℃ over a period of three months resulted in slow dimerization. Also, in case of the storage of BSA at 37 ±5℃ for one week, the retention of both BSA monomer and dimer increased with the urea concentration. Finally, the structural composition of specific enzymes: malonyl-CoA decarboxylase (MCDC) and malonyl-CoA synthesis (MCS) was determined by using Flow FFF at specific carrier solutions. The molecular weight of the natural MCDC was determined to be 208 kDa, which means it is a homotetramer, while that of the MCS was determined to be 47 kDa, which means it is a monomer.

  • This study aimed to identify the effects of nurses' interpersonal relationship ability on retention intention and turnover intention. The participants were 192 general duty nurses from a general hospital (95 with 36 months of experience or less, 97 with 37 months of experience or more) recruited using convenience sampling. Data were collected between February 15 and February 22, 2022. The data were analyzed by t-test, ANOVA, Pearson correlation coefficient, regression analysis, and more. The results demonstrated that turnover intention was higher among females. Also, a positive correlation between interpersonal relationship ability and retention intention was found to be significant among the nurses with at least 37 months of experience(r = .35, p < .001). The effect of interpersonal relationship ability on retention intention was found to be significant among the nurses with at least 37 months of experience(B = 0.71, t = 3.44, p < .001). However, the effect of interpersonal relationship ability on turnover intention was found to be nonsignificant. Based on these findings, this study concluded with the need for a strategy to strengthen interpersonal relation ability. during which the work experience should be considered, to promote nurses' retention intention.

  • Tunnel oxide of non-volatile memory (NVM) devices would be very difficult to downscale if ten-year data retention were still needed. This requirement limits further improvement of device performance in terms of programming speed and operating voltages. Consequently, for low-power applications with Fowler-Nordheim programming such as NAND, program and erase voltages are essentially sustained at unacceptably high levels. A promising solution for tunnel oxide scaling is tunnel barrier engineering (TBE), which uses multiple dielectric stacks to enhance field-sensitivity. This allows for shorter writing/erasing times and/or lower operating voltages than single $SiO_2$ tunnel oxide without altering the ten-year data retention constraint. In this paper, two approaches for tunnel barrier engineering are compared: the crested barrier and variable oxide thickness. Key results of TBE and its applications for NVM are also addressed.

  • A steam generator tube rupture (SGTR) event with a stuck-open safety relief valve constitutes one of the most serious accident sequences in pressurized water reactors (PWRs) because it may create an open path for radioactive aerosol release into the environment. The release may be mitigated by the deposition of fission product particles on a steam generator's (SG's) dry tubes and structures or by scrubbing in the secondary coolant. However, the absence of empirical data, the complexity of the geometry, and the controlling processes have, until recently, made any quantification of retention difficult to justify. As a result, past risk assessment studies typically took little or no credit for aerosol retention in SGTR sequences. To provide these missing data, the Paul Scherrer Institute (PSI) initiated the Aerosol Trapping In Steam GeneraTor (ARTIST) Project, which aimed to thoroughly investigate various aspects of aerosol removal in the secondary side of a breached steam generator. Between 2003 and 2011, the PSI has led the ARTIST Project, which involved intense collaboration between nearly 20 international partners. This summary paper presents key findings of experimental and analytical work conducted at the PSI within the ARTIST program.

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to identify the effect of a mentoring program as a strategy for the retention of clinical nurses. Method: Research subjects were 20 mentors, 20 mentees and 22 clinical nurses for a control group of mentees. A mentoring program was developed by an expert committee and applied to the experimental group for six months. Data were collected at three and six months after the application of the program from September, 2008 to March, 2009. Data were analyzed using $x^$-test, t-test, Repeated Measures ANOVA, One-way ANOVA in SPSS/Win 15.0 Program. Results: Job satisfaction, organizational commitment, empowerment, and carrier commitment in the mentees of the experimental group were significantly higher than the nurses of the control group. Intention of resignation in mentees of the experimental group were significantly lower than the nurses of the control group. Also, there were significant interaction between the groups and the times of measurements in all variables. Conclusion: The mentoring program showed positive impact on the variables for maintenance of clinical nurses. Recommendation: Based on these findings, retention strategies using mentoring programs were recommended to reduce clinical nurses' resignation and improve the competency of clinical nurses that leads to the productivity of nursing organizations.

  • As membrane fouling is based on various factors, it is a complex phenomenon that is hard to estimate. This study investigated membrane fouling in a thermophilic jet loop membrane bioreactor (JLMBR). With this purpose, four different empirical membrane fouling models with different sludge retention times were applied on the flow data obtained in the system. As a result of the model implementation, it was found for all sludge retention times that, standard blocking is effective in the first 1.5 hours of filtration, while cake filtration was dominant in the remaining duration. Additionally, it was observed that as the sludge retention time increases, membrane fouling rate decreases.
