An On-Line Barcode Verification System using Image Processing Technique (이미지 처리기술을 이용한 온라인 바코드 품질검사 시스템)

  • Barcode labels are being widely used for identifying products since they are cheap and easy to use. As the barcode labels are massively produced by seal printing, some labels have defects such as poor printing quality or data mismatch between barcode and the text. Barcode read errors and business errors caused by defected barcodes result in delay in logistics and increased processing costs. In this paper, we propose an on-line barcode verification system that uses image processing technique to verify the quality of labels at the production stage. The proposed system captures label images through the vision camera and then checks the print quality and verifies the combination of barcodes and texts in a label. If any defected label is found, the proposed system gives alarm signals and marks the defected labels so that they are removed at early stage of the production.

High Performance Message Scattering Algorithm in Multicore Processor (멀티코어 프로세서에서의 효율적인 메시지 스캐터링 지원 기법)

  • In this paper, to maximize the performance of the scatter communication in multi-core and many-core processors, a technique that considers the communication situation of the processing node is applied to a multi-core processor composed of 32 processing nodes. Since the existing scatter algorithm cannot recognize the communication conditions of the processing nodes, communication is generally performed according to an initially set transmission order. In this case, scatter communication starts only after the communication currently being performed by all processing nodes inside the processor is finished. The scatter communication performance was improved by this technique, and it was confirmed that there was a performance improvement of up to 78.93% compared to the existing algorithm through BFM simulation.

  • In this paper we introduce a design of parallel architecture for wavelet transformation on FPGA. We implement wavelet transforms though lifting scheme and apply Daubechies4 transform equations. This technique has an advantage that we can obtain perfect reconstruction of the data. We divide our process to high pass filter and low pass filter. With this division, we can find coefficients from low and high pass filters simultaneously using parallel processing properties of FPGA to reduce processing time. From the equations, we have to design real number computation module, referred to IEEE754 standard. We choose 32 bit computation that is fine enough to reconstruct data. After that we arrange the real number module according to Daubechies4 transform though lifting scheme.

  • 인터넷 발전이 가속화되고 SNS가 보급된 이후 과거와는 비교할 수 없을 정도로 큰 데이터 트래픽이 발생하고 있다. 기존의 DBMS는 이를 효과적으로 처리할 수 없었기 때문에 Hadoop과 같은 NoSQL이 탄생하였고, 최근 NoSQL 및 기존 SQL DBMS의 협업을 통해 유연하고 강력한 데이터 관리를 수행하는 연구가 진행되었다. 효율적인 질의 처리를 위한 대표적인 연구로 SQL 기반 분산 병렬 질의 처리 기법과 Hive등이 존재한다. 그러나 기존의 기법은 분산 병렬 환경을 고려하지 않아 SQL DBMS의 질의 결과를 효율적으로 Hive에 전송하지 못한다. 본 논문에서는 SQL DBMS에서 Hive로의 효율적인 SQL 데이터 이동을 위해 네트워크 비용을 최소화하는 기법을 제안하고, 제안하는 기법의 우수성을 제시한다.

  • With the continuous growth of a number of high-quality multimedia services for handheld devices, the lack of power resources becomes an increasingly critical issue. One of the ways to overcome existing problem is to make multimedia data processing more efficient. In order to do that this paper introduces a video streaming application for Android platform which, while being used along with offloading technique, may provide an efficient progressive download service for user devices along with relief of media servers.

  • Digital watermarking is the techinque which embeds the invisible signal into multimedia data such as audio, video, images, for copyright protection, including owner identification and copy control information. This paper proposes a new watermark embedding and extraction technique by extending the direct sequence spread spectrum technique. The proposed technique approximates the frequency component of pixels in spatial domain by using Laplacian mask and adaptively embeds the watermark considering the HVS to reduce the degradation of Image. In watermark extraction process, the proposed technique strengthens the high frequency components of image and extracts the watermark by demodulation. All this processes are performed in spatial domain to reduce the processing time.

  • A stereoscopic particle tracking velocimetry (SPTV) technique based on the 2-frame hybrid particle tracking velocimetry (PTV) method was developed. The expansion of 2D PTV to SPTV is facilitated by the fact that the PTV method tracks individual particle centroids. To evaluate the performance and measurement accuracy of the present SPTV technique, it was applied to flow images of rigid body translation and synthetic standard images of jet shear flow and impinging jet flow. The data processing routine and measurement uncertainty of the SPTV technique are compared with those of conventional stereoscopic particle image velecimet.y (SPBV). In addition, the centroid translation effect of 2D particle image velocimetry (PIV) is defined and its effect on SPIV measurements is discussed. Compared to the SPIV method, the SPTV technique has inherited merits of concise and precise velocity evaluation procedures and provides better spatial resolution and measurement accuracy.

  • As the surveillance CCTVs are increasing every year, big data image processing for the CCTV image data has become a hot issue. In this paper, we propose a Hadoop-based big data image processing technique to recognize a vehicle number from a large amount of automatic number plate images taken from CCTVs. We also implement the vehicle route tracking system that displays the moving path of the searched vehicle on Google Maps with the related information together. In order to evaluate the performance we compare and analysis the vehicle number recognition time for a lot of CCTV image data in Hadoop and the single PC environment.

  • To provide 3D GSIS data on the internet, 3D data structures need to be researched and applied for spatial analysis for subsurface modeling. As for GSIS software R&D trend the following things have pointed out : 3-dimensional geo-processing technologies, internet-based application system development, distributed processing technologies for large volume of spatial information, real-time geo-data processing methodologies, Among them research scope within Internet-based application system or Web-based GSIS generally contains core parts of software development such as Internet application, large volume of spatial database handling, real-time spatial data processing, spatial data transfer and transformation, and volumetric display of processing results. This study shows the method of providing 3D GSIS on the internet using VRML model, which are made of DEM data, draped aerial photo, and VRML script programming. And it is also studied that offering 3D GSIS engine on the internet and precise texture mapping using satellite image and aerial photos.

  • In this paper, variable threshold estimation algorithm for multiple vehicle detection RADAR is proposed and realized by using DSP for real time processing. The algorithm is developed to get the information of velocity and length of vehicles in multiple lanes by using FMCW RADAR. For real time operation, signal processing part is realized with a high speed DSP board to detect and manipulate the vehicle data and some experimental results are given to show the usefulness of the proposed technique.
