  • Laser scanning technology is a maturing measurement technology which is capable of obtaining 3D measurement data of objects with high-accuracy, high-resolution and in a short time. Laser scanners are used more and more as surveying instruments for various applications. This paper describes the procedure of 3D data acquirement using terrestrial LiDAR and section drawing extraction through a series of processing for remodeling the interior of a department building. Accurate drawings are needed for improvement construction of building interior. However if the design drawings of that time of construction work were lost or damaged or actual dimensions of drawings differ from those of design drawings, the interior should be resurveyed. In this study, the extraction process of interior plane figures were suggested through using laser scanning and related reverse engineering software

  • A few intake stations have vibration problems caused by pumps, motors and pipes. The vibration transferred from pumps, motors and pipes excites building severely. Therefore, the crack is generated on building wall and people who work at intake station are damaged. In this paper, the vibration has been measured and analyzed for pumps, motors, pipes and building at intake station. Also, the cause of vibration is identified. Finally, the solution of structural vibration is established using the results of measurement.

  • In case of Korea, it goes frequently that underground parks has been burned. Based on standard temperature time curve(ISO-834), gerber, walls, slab of structures are constructed. However, Standard temperature time Curve is not considered that buildings are affected by vehicle fire. that is why it has the hazard that makes building reinforcement feeble. Based on the result that got from vehicle experiment before, we made four RC slab in this experiment and set the fire severity. according to the loading experiment after heating, we measured the effects that makes reinforcement and shape changes. Furthermore, we examined the safty of the structure by comparing before and after heating.

  • Remodeling is not subject to strict laws or regulations for permission procedure and structure safety inspection compared with new construction. Most of building owners do not recognize the importance of structural safety enough and place an order to small unlicensed construction company. As a result, important structural materials are damaged without enough investigation into permitted durability and fixed weight and load weight increase. This study suggests a system that can evaluate the state of the building and enables fast judgment on needs of repairing or strengthening as well as needs structural examination.

  • This study analyzed the relationship building and maintaining with advertising in new media advertising environment. The literature research and focus group interview were mainly used for research method, It was found that advertising played the role of building and developing the relationship as times went by. On the contrary, the relationship could be damaged by advertising. And model, music in advertising and program were the major factors which build relationship.

  • In this study, the seismic performance of a residential building which was damaged in the 1992 Erzincan (Turkey) Earthquake (Ms = 6.8) is performed. Damages on columns due to short columns are estimated analytically implementing the shear hinges and results are compared with the observed damages on the building after the earthquake. In seismic performance evaluation, a deformation based approach is adopted, whereby the structural behavior under external and seismic loads is evaluated. Furthermore, the effects of short columns formed by band windows in basement floors are investigated analytically. The sizes of band windows are parametrically changed in order to understand the effects of short columns on overall building behavior.

  • Research and development on high-rise or large-scale wooden buildings have been actively conducted both domestically and internationally. The trend of high-rise wooden buildings is driven by increasing awareness of environmental issues. To utilize wooden materials in buildings is believed to lead to the reduction of the environmental impact. On the other hand, Japan is one of the most earthquake-prone countries in the world, and many wooden detached houses have been damaged in past major earthquakes. This paper summarizes the issues that arise in the realization of medium- and high-rise wooden buildings in Japan, and introduces the initiatives that have been seen so far.

  • This paper presents a comparative study of the damage potentials for the 2016 Gyeongju and 2017 Pohang earthquakes in Korea. Plausible technical explanations are provided for the more severe damage observed in the 2017 Pohang earthquake in spite of its relatively weaker magnitude and intensity measures based on the response analysis of elastic and inelastic single-degree-of-freedom systems for the recorded ground motions. In addition, a detailed case study was conducted for a fatally damaged piloti building with an eccentric shear wall core based on nonlinear dynamic analysis using the input ground motions modified for the building site.

  • In this study, we intend to integrate the database(DB) method into one logical structure that is related to damage such as cause and type of damages occurring in the DMZ area. We divided the DMZ members into two types, which are classified into qualitative and quantitative aspects based on the current status survey for three years as a study of database construction, So that the actual data can be utilized in future restoration. The database construction through each restoration direction regarding the type of DMZ corruption is as follows. First, we recognized the necessity of restoration of the damaged area of the DMZ, and approached it as a plan to select the damaged mark. Second, DMZ database reconstruction can be used as a restoration of damages, suggesting more information and restoration type through building an ecological database for education and research. Third, in order to maintain and restore restoration of damaged areas continuously at the national level, it is necessary to institutionalize guidelines for reasonable internal restoration in the national level as data that can be credited externally and can be acknowledged as the latest data.

  • Damage detection methods based on modal analysis have been widely studied in recent years. However the calculation of mode shapes in real structures can be time consuming and often requires dedicated software programmes. In the present paper the combined application of proper orthogonal decomposition and gapped smoothing method to structural damage detection is presented. The first is used to calculate the dynamic shapes of a damaged structural element using only the time response of the system while the second is used to derive a reference baseline to which compare the data coming from the damaged structure. Experimental verification is provided for a beam case while numerical analyses are conducted on plates. The introduction of a stiffener on a plate is investigated and a method to distinguish its influence from that of a defect is presented. Results highlight that the derivatives of the proper orthogonal modes are more effective damage indices than the modes themselves and that they can be used in damage detection when only data from the damaged structure are available. Furthermore the stiffened plate case shows how the simple use of the curvature is not sufficient when analysing complex components. The combined application of the two techniques provides a possible improvement in damage detection of typical aeronautical structures.
