The model PINUSCO2 hased of physiology was creted to simulate carbon dioxide budget in a population of red pine(pinus densiflora) which is one of the dominant species in Korea. Driving forces of PINUSCO2 are global radiation, maximum and minimum air temperatures. State variables fo the model are standing crops of leaf, branch, trunk and root of the red pine population. PINUSCO2 calculates net photosynthesis of canopy and respiration of each organ with 1 hour time step. PINUSCO2 estimated the annual gross productivity, respiration and net productivity of the red pine population as 43.99, 24.55, and 19.44 ton CO2·ha-1·yr-1, respectively, at the study sity(35°58′00"N, 128°25′35"E). PINUSCO2 showed that the red pine population grew mainly in spring and fall, and that in summer daily net population productivity frequently became negative.
In order to investigate elementary school students' readiness to write on scientific subject, we analyzed the participants' draft in elementary student section [National Student Science Writing Contest] which is sponsored by a daily press. As a first step, we designed an assessment framework to analyze the students' writing. It is composed of three domains: scientific thinking, logical validity, creativeness. Each domain has three sub-domains. By using the framework, seven raters scored the students' inquiry reports. The findings reveal that the students needed the training for scientific writing. Especially they had great difficulty in the sub-domain of 'suggestion of rational alternative solution' in scientific thinking domain, the sub-domains of 'clearness' and 'coherence' in logical validity domain, and in the sub-domains of 'creative problem solving' and 'creative presentation' in creative domain.
To study the relationship between the levels of chemical pollutants and the number of daily total hospital admissions for respiratory diseases and to find the effect of temperature/relative humidity on the admission number, Wong et al. [17] introduced the varying-coefficient single-index model (VCSIM). As pointed out, it is a popular multivariate nonparametric fitting technique. However, the tests of the model have not been very well developed. In this paper, based on the estimators obtained by the local linear technique, the average method and the one-step back-fitting technique in the VCSIM, the generalized likelihood ratio (GLR) tests for varying-coefficient parts on the VCSIM are established. Under the null hypotheses the new proposed GLR tests follow the $\chi^2$-distribution asymptotically with scale constant and degree of freedom independent of the nuisance parameters, known as Wilks phenomenon. Simulations are conducted to evaluate the test procedure empirically. A real example is used to illustrate the performance of the testing approach.

In this paper, we propose spatial information based simulator for user experience optimization and minimize real space complexity. We focus on developing simulator how to design virtual space model and to implement virtual character using real space data. Especially, we use expanded events-driven inference model for SVM based on machine learning. Our simulator is capable of feature selection by k-fold cross validation method for optimization of data learning. This strategy efficiently throughput of executing inference of user behavior feature by virtual space model. Thus, we aim to develop the user experience optimization system for people to facilitate mapping as the first step toward to daily life data inference. Methodologically, we focus on user behavior and space modeling for implement virtual space.
Robots are required to assist our activities in daily life. In this paper, we focus on arm movement to catch moving object as one of important tasks frequently performed by human. We propose an algorithm which enables a robot to perform human-like arm motion to catch a moving object. First we analyze human hand trajectories and velocity profiles to catch an object. From the experimental results, we extract some characteristics in the process of approaching and following a moving object and confirm that these are necessary to realize human-like motion. We then adopt an instantaneous optimal control method which evaluates the error and energy cost at each sampling step, and design two time-varying weight matrices to introduce human characteristic into robot motion. The matrix concerning the error is defined as a time-increasing ...

The agroclimatic indices are produced by statistical analysis based on primary climate data (e.g., temperature, precipitation, and solar irradiance) or driving agronomic models. This study was carried out to evaluate how selection of daily temperature for a climate normal (1983-2012) affected the precision of the agroclimatic indices. As a first step, averaged daily 0600 and 1500 LST temperature for a climate normal were produced by geospatial schemes based on topo-climatology ($365days{\times}1$ set, EST normal year). For comparison, 30 years daily temperature data were generated by applying the same process ($365days{\times}30sets$), and calculated mean of daily temperature (OBS normal year). The flowering date of apple 'Fuji' cultivar, the last frost date, and the risk of late frost were estimated based on EST normal year data and compared with the results from OBS normal year. The results on flowering date showed 2.9 days of error on average. The last frost date was of 11.4 days of error on average, which was relatively large. Additionally, the risk of the late frost was determined by the difference between the flowering and the last frost date. When it was determined based on the temperature of EST normal year, Akyang was classified as a risk area because the results showed that the last frost date would be the same or later than the flowering date in the 12.5% of area. However, the temperature of OBS normal year indicated that the area did not have the risk of a late frost. The results of this study implied that it would be necessary to reduce the error by replacing the EST method with the OBS method in the future.

Purpose : Daily Q.A is the important step which must be preceded in a radiation treatment. Specially, radiation output measurement and laser alignment, SSD indicator related to a patient set-up recurrence must be confirmed for a reasonable radiation treatment. Daily Q.A proceeds correctness and a prompt way, and needs an objective measurement basis. Manufacture of the device which can facilitate confirmation of output measurement and appliances check at one time was requested. Materials and Methods : Produced the phantom formal daily check device which can confirm a lot of appliances check (output measurement and laser alignment. field size, SSD indicator) with one time of set up at a time, and measurement observed a linear accelerator (4 machine) for four months and evaluated efficiency. Results : We were able to confirm an laser alignment, field size, SSD indicator check at the same time, and out put measurement was possible with the same set up, so daily Q.A time was reduced, and we were able to confirm an objective basis about each item measurement. As a result of having measured for four months, output measurement within ${\pm}2%$, and measured laser alignment, field size, SSD indicator in range within ${\pm}1mm$. Conclusion : We can enforce output measurement and appliances check conveniently, and time was reduced and was able to raise efficiency of business. We were able to bring a cost reduction by substitution expensive commercialized equipment. Further It is necessary to makes a product as strong and slight materials, and improve convenience of use.
This study, targeting Korean tertiary hospitals and general hospitals, aims to analyze how value chain model in health and medical institution suggested by Duncan and else influences on hospital management. A survey was conducted to verify the actual proof analysis of this study model. 880 questionnaires were distributed to entire 88 hospitals and 739 copies were returned from 76 hospitals. This study mainly consists of three steps to analyze the effect value chain activity has on management performance of general hospitals. For the first step, we analyzed the effects service delivery activity has on management performance. For the second step, we analyzed the effects service support activity has on management performance and for the third, we analyzed the effects interaction between service delivery activity and service support activity has on management performance. The main results of this study are as follows. First, in terms of the management performance of scale, the factors which influenced on daily charge of outpatient were service activity before treatment, at the moment of treatment and value chain activity, while more important factors in daily charge of inpatient were organizational culture, organizational structure and value chain activity. In terms of management performance of quality, the factors which influenced on the first medical examination rate of outpatient were service activity before, at the moment of and after treatment, while activity at the moment of treatment, organizational structure, and value chain activity which is interaction were more important factors in average length of stay. In terms of non-financial performance, the management performance factors which influenced on job satisfaction were service activity at the moment of, after the treatment and value chain activity, while organizational culture, strategy resources and value chain activity which is interaction were more important factors in job commitment. Secondly, all the service support activity, service delivery activity and value chain activity had statistically significant effect on management performance. Among the three factors, service support activity had relatively high effect than others.
The objective of this study was to evaluate the performances of the ASBR under critical conditions of solid-liquid separation, caused by extremely high solids concentration, for wider application of the ASBR to various wastes. The ASBRs and completely-mixed daily-fed control runs were operated using a municipal mixed sludge at 35$^{\circ}C$ and 55$^{\circ}C$. Conversion of completely-mixed daily-fed reactor to sequencing batch mode and changes in HRT of all ASBRs were easily achieved without adverse effect, regardless of digestion temperature. Solids accumulation was remarkable in the ASBRs, and directly affected by settleable solids concentration of the feed sludge. Noticeable difference in solids-liquid separation was that flotation thickening occurred in the mesophilic ASBRs, while gravity thickening was a predominant solid-liquid separation process in the thermophilic ASBRS. Solids profiles at the end of thickening step dramatically changed at solid-liquid interface, and slight difference in solids concentrations was observed within thickened sludge bed. Organics removals based on subnatant or supernatant after thickening always exceeded 80% in all reactors. Thickened sludge volume and gas production of the ASBRs affected mutually. Gas production increased as thickened sludge accumulated, and continuous gas evolution during thickening could cause thickened sludge to expand or resuspend. Thickened sludge volume exceeding a predetermined withdrawal level resulted in loss of organic solids as well as biomass during withdrawal step, leading to decrease in gas production ind SRT. Such an adverse mutual effect was significant in gravity thickening, while it was not sensitive in flotation thickening. Changes in organic loading had no significant effect on organic removals and gas production after build-up of solids in the ASBRs.

Ecological influences of indigenous freshwater bivalve Unio douglasiae on the water quality and epilithic diatom community was examined with artificial stream (AST), which constructed in a laboratory daily receiving the eutrophic lake water. For the colonization of new periphyton community, forty commercial slide glasses were deposited as a substrate into the lowest part of each AST. Prior to 1 week, the AST was operated to induce the freely-colonization of the algal community in the absence of mussels. After the mussels was introduced at 435 indiv. $m^{-2}$ between step 1 and step 5, the passed water and substrates were daily collected to analysis the change of water quality and lotic and lentic algae abundance for 10 days. Compared to the control, turbidity (60.0% of control), suspended solids (62.5%), and chlorophyll-$\alpha$ (72.2%) in mussel-passed waters were decreased significantly, while a strong increase of ammonia (up to 800% of control) was companied with the decrease of dissolved oxygen (19.5% of control) and total phosphorus (23.9%), respectively. On average, the concentrations of suspended solids (67.0% of control) and chlorophyll-$\alpha$ (89.4%) in mussel-treated substrates were remarkably increased, however algal abundance in its water simultaneously decreased. These results indicate that incidentally or purposely mussel introductions can decrease organic matter of the stream and increase transparency of stream water, however, mussel-mediated nutrient and pseudofeces release may stimulate the adverse growth of periphyton or phytoplankton community in the lower stream or reservoir.
